I'm terrible with set dates, but looking back, what did you think about Black Death arc overall?
I know nothing about comic storylines, so when people say Black Death is GWF's version of Blackest Night, it's all new to me and I thought it was great, considering it was coming off of the Infinity Challenge stuff, which was my least favorite in that era.
Plus it was around the first card for color, so that helped too.
To me not knowing comics, this was a fresh and exciting arc for the first set. Harbinger came in and was a beast, the mechanics and other stuff on cards. Then we got set 2 with Sur, Bex and Ghenna and things kept going. Seeing Havoc under the spell, getting 2 cards for Code Destroyers. A lot of fun.
I feel the 3rd installment kind of died out for me, but overall, a good arc. The only drawback was that we didn't get updates for some and when BD went away, the current guys still had their BD cards and it was a little clunky for me with those.
What do you think about the arc overall?

One of my favorites of the color era. Once you get past the idea that there's a similar event that took place in the DC universe, it was full of great characters and big concepts.

I think that's what made it great for me in not knowing anything about that DC event, so it was "original" and fresh.

Loved Black Death, except for what it did to Ensor!

Sur is a legend in my fed. This was also Swarm’s prime as a character for me, running on all cylinders during the whole era as he feuded with Sur, Bex and the rest of Black Death at the top of the card.
I wish it had pushed more infected Black Death characters into the main event, and I was dissatisfied with how End of Days was written out, but it created a lot of great mid card wrestlers (the Betrayers, Coven Black) and gave us one of the best and coolest looking cards ever (Havoc). Art wise that first BD set w all those guys was revolutionary. Betrayer falling through the sky through an illuminated tunnel, blood splattered cage Betrayer, Havoc and his blinding staff, Harbinger in neon green, red and black. Coven Black w the BD symbol carved into his chest. Just remember the whole set looking fucking awesome.

I got a ton of play out of Sur, Bex, and Ghenna. Easily the best new characters of the era. I was kind of disappointed to see their story end. Those guys are going to be making at least a cameo appearance or two down the line for me since the Galacticon and the fan made contributions have inspired me to rethink and revamp my "Contest Of Champions" fed into a more Kronos inspired thing.

Giving into my intrusive thoughts and finally straying from the official story is the best thing I’ve ever done w my fed. Just way too many great characters over the years to shelve and never use again just to say I’m “current” or “by the book”. That’s the big difference between LOW and COTG. Nobody expires in LOW. In COTG they do. Kronos solves that problem and I really wish Tom was more open to exploring Kronos because a legends fed for GWF guys seems like an obvious no-brainer for this game and community. He dipped his toes in the water w the Merapis set and I think everyone loved it. He chose the cards, wrote the main story and I wrote the stats and bios. Would love to do it again and collaborate on a Kronos set one day, finish the story I started and build a COTG legends utopia using the input of the man himself.

I came back aboard the COTG train (after not having played since the 2108 set) just as the first Origins set came out, or just after... I ordered all of the previous color sets to catch up on what was going on in the GWF. Boy, I'm glad I missed out on the Black Death storyline, If I had been playing it in real time, I'd likely have given up COTG altogether. It's comic book stuff, and while I used to be a comic book fan, I really don't want too much of that stuff in my wrestling fed. I know Tom is a huge Stan Lee fan, and there have always been some comic book overtones to some of the COTG storylines, but this was going way too far for my tastes. What's wrong with pro wrestlers wrestling for pro wrestler reasons? Not a fan, at all. For those that liked that stuff, fair play to you. It just was not my cup of joe.
