It’s been quite the ride for Kronos since Tom so graciously allowed us to explore more about this long forgotten territory in GWF lore.
The first color Kronos cards were released in 2017 with Pegasus the Powerful and Mensar. To this day these two cards hold up against the very best on Kronos.
Through Promoter Prime we got more new wrestlers like the Hitmen for Hire, the Brothers in Arms, the Overmen, the Survivors, Earth First and most of the Classics 3000 set all in color, many for the first time.
Collector’s cards like Omega of Cetus, Chaos Supreme, Sectarian the Barbarian and Paralyze became available through exclusive channels like attending live Filsinger Games conventions.
The popularity of these cards led to the release of two Kronos sets, first Battle Lines featuring the never-ending saga between Infinity versus Infinity-Plex — then Return to Civilization where we were introduced to the College of Kronos and Omega began to steer Kronos back to its original course by forming the Champions Oath. Just as importantly, the portal to Kronos was destroyed by the arrival of Man of Power.
During the last year the stories on Kronos continued to be told via the busy and popular Fans of Filsinger Games bootleg community.
Twelve new cards spread out over four different mini-packs were mailed out to fans between the summer of 2023 to the summer of 2024. Kronos: RESENTMENT headlined by the arrival of Hades kicked us off.
That was followed up by Kronos: RETALIATION featuring the Defenders of the Realm and their quest to loyally protect whomever wears the Crown of Kronos.
Not long after another three pack followed highlighting the life events of Monolith as he quietly exited the GWF. His rescue by newcomers the Alchemists resulted in the rejuvenation of Monolith and one of the most powerful Kronos cards ever released in Kronos: REGENERATION.
These three packs covered an era on Kronos where the portal was damaged and inoperable. The stories focused around Hades and his relentless pursuit to disrupt Kronos by bringing uninvited wrestlers to Kronos through illegal back channels and ruin Omega’s plans to restore peace and unity.
Lastly and most recently, Kronos: GRAND RE-OPENING brought many years of storytelling full-circle when the portal was repaired to full functionality and Kronos returned to its original purpose where the best wrestlers in GWF history come to duke it out in dream matches that cannot occur anywhere else.
The only thing remaining to be settled is who will be making the big decisions on which wrestlers come to Kronos in the future - Omega or Hades. And they’re currently embattled in a struggle over control of the portal with the help of Big Superstar and the Galactic Giant assisting along the way.
So that brings us to what’s next for Kronos?
While nothing is certain and zero future plans have been made to continue these stories, it’s always good to gauge interest on what fans want to see should the opportunity arise.
So the question to all of the loyal Kronos fans is - what do YOU want to see from this slice of the big COTG pie?
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading, thank you for your support and thank you for voting!
