FINAL SHOW OF 2122
Card #236: War Zone
The show opens with Iron Hand’s music hitting and the new commissioner, who was introduced last week, making his way to the ring. Boos shower down on him as he takes the microphone and speaks for the first time in front of a live crowd…
Iron Hand: The days of the inmates running the asylum are over. This is the dawn of a new era, the era of Martial Law. And it is an era that will see the GWF run with an Iron Hand! To show everyone how serious I am about this being my federation, I want Endgame in this ring… RIGHT NOW!
Crowd erupt at the sound of Endgame’s music. The champion is in the ring in a mere seconds…
Endgame: Be clear, I don’t answer to you. When I called for a clean-up of the GWF, you are not the answer I had in mind. What’s this all about?
Iron Hand: Shut up and I’ll tell you what this about. This is about me exercising Martial Law and taking your title.
Endgame: What?!?
Iron Hand: The GWF is the best wrestling company in the galaxy and it deserves to be championed and represented by the best wrestler in the galaxy.
Endgame: I’ve got almost a year’s worth of title defenses that says I AM the best.
Iron Hand: And I’ve got a contract as commissioner that says you’re not. Now give me that damn belt and say hello to your new GWF Heavyweight champion…MONOLITH!
Monolith’s music hits and the arrogant behemoth strolls confidently to the ring, a spattering of cheers barely audible among a sea of boos…
Iron Hand: If you like your position with this company, you’ll place the belt in my hand.
Monolith and Endgame engage in a staredown…Endgame reluctantly hands the title to Iron Hand…
Endgame: Your time is coming, Iron Hand. And so is your’s, Monolith. You haven’t been able to take the title from me in the ring, but this won’t last long.
Monolith: I hear you talking, freak. You heard him…Hand over the strap and get the hell out of here before I make this a painful title change.
Iron Hand: That won’t be necessary, Monolith. Mr. Game, unless he wants to be applying for a job with the ring crew, is leaving peacefully.
A final moment of staring before Endgame leaves…
Iron Hand: Now that everyone sees who has the power in the GWF, you can expect to see every other champion hand over his or her title to me tonight. Rest assured, Sunday’s Perennial will be one for the ages!
More boos from the crowd...
Iron Hand: But to show, how fair and impartial I am, Monolith will be forced to defend his title at the Perennial against one of the hottest and most popular superstars in the GWF... Tauran!
Despite the surprise announcement that Tauran will be Monolith's first title contender, both champion and commissioner leave the ring looking extremely confident...
--Tricks, with Vin Strutter vs. Reckless--
Tricks is disqualified in short order for nearly blinding Reckless with a strange mist. It is apparent Reckless’ eyesight is damaged as he rolls on the mat, screaming in pain before finally being helped to the back by Tristan.
Backstage in Iron Hand’s office, Women’s champion Shann-Ra enters and sees Mother Superior standing behind the seated comissioner…
Iron Hand: You can put your belt on the desk and leave. Mother Superior will make a very fitting Women’s chmapion.
The soon-to-be-former champion begins to speak, but the champion raises his hand in a sign of silence…
Iron Hand: Why didn’t Kill Prey come with you. I said I wanted the both of you to bring your belts to me.
Shann-Ra: He said,he’ll see you when he’s ready.
Iron Hand becomes enraged, slamming his fist on the desk…
Iron Hand: He said what?!?
Shann-Ra: He said he’ll bring you the Interplanetary title when he’s ready.
Iron Hand: You tell Kill Prey defiance will not be tolerated. He has until the end of the War Zone to bring me his belt, or someone will be bringing me his head. Now go, before I find other tasks for you to perform!
--Payback vs. Daimyo--
The two feuding enemies battle back and forth in this violent blow-off to their feud. Payback rallies from repeated chokes to pin his rival following a leg drop off the ropes.
--Nosfera, with Omen, vs. Retribution--
Another match that dissolves into a brawl quickly. Retribution takes the advantage but is blinded by DEMON’S BREATH, which leads to the disqualification of Nosfera. The demon continues his attack but, retreats when Malkuth and Panther Warrior, Retribution’s new allies, hit the ring.
Vidtek is shown enterting Iron Hand’s office…
Vidtek: You wanted to see me, Boss?
Iron Hand: I want you to show Wolf tonight that the new GWF is no place for undisciplined hooligans like him. He has always been a thorn in the side of authority, and tonight the Iron Hand regime launches a preemptive strike against him.
Vidtek: I’ll take care of him, don’t worry about that. He’s a has-been!
Iron Hand: I’m glad you’re confident, because I’ve heard that Wolf knows you’re among my Inner Circle.
Vidtek: Whoa, whoa! Hold on, boss. I thought were keeping our arrangement between us and the ‘Shooters. I don’t need any more people taking shots at me just because they want a piece of you. I mean, I can handle my own and all, but…
Iron Hand: But what? Are you not capable of living up to your end of the agreement?
Vidtek: Of course, I am. I just don't like causing any more problems for myself than I already got. You know? By the way, I am going to get the I-P belt when you take it off Kill Prey, right?
Iron Hand: You’ll get your rewards when the time is appropriate. Now, get ready for your match.
Vidtek leaves looking dejected, apparently not hearing the answer he was hoping for…
--Wolf vs. Vidtek--
The Animan legend wastes no time tearing into Vidtek. As the battle rages, Iron Hand comes on the giant holoscreen to taunt Wolf and encourage Vidtek. As Wolf goes to lock the SAVAGE FACE CLAW on his downed opponent, Iron Hand orders the referees to disqualify him. The ref looks confused as Iron Hand shouts, “I run this fed Wolf! Not you…ME!”
The shocking DQ only enrages Wolf, and the legend begins to beat Vidtek with every object he can find at ringside. The interviewer is finally dragged from the assault by Muss and Bomb.
GWF TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
--GWF Tag Team Champions Rage and Paralyze vs. Divided We Fall--
A well-contested matchup until Iron Hand again appears on the Holoscreen and orders the referee to stop the match. Bloodline and Encubus look nearly as stunned as the champions at the following words from Iron Hand…
Iron Hand: Martial Law needs a tag team on par with our champion, Monolith, and that team is before me. There is no need to continue with this match, as Bloodline and Encubus have shown themselves worthy of representing the GWF as its tag team champions. No more will tag team gold be carried by headbanging dreggs of the galaxy like the Gladiators. Just like everything else, that time has come and gone! Long live the era of Martial Law!
With that, a confused Bloodline and Encubus gather their newly-“won” belts and head to the locker room…
KP: He put hands on you?
Shann-Ra: I told you he grabbed me by the head and said you have till the end of the War Zone.
KP: That sonofabitch wants to see me, he’s gonna see me.
Kill Prey throws open the door of his dressing room and storms out into the hall…
LaTasha is standing in the back with her microphone…The crowd comes to life as camera pans to the wrestler beside her…SWARM!
LT: Every wrestling fan in the galaxy has been wondering where your have been, Swarm, and what is up with your random comings and goings lately. Any response?
Swarm: I’ve had some personal issues to tend to at home. My drive to be the best in this business has kept me away from what matters most in my life: my son. There have been a lot of times where I have been here for my fans and I wasn’t there for him. I couldn’t see that while I was giving so much to so many, I was giving very little to him. He has needed more lately than at any point in his life, and I had to be there for him. Tonight, though, it seems like my team needs me. That piece of trash, Tricks, is getting more and more dangerous and somebody needs to handle him. Nobody’s been doing it in my absence, so I guess I gotta do it now that I’m back.
LT: So, are you returning to the ring full-time?
S: Yeah, but not just me. I got a big surprise for the galaxy at the Perennial!
**MAIN EVENT**
--Endgame and U.S. Male vs. Sly Srury and American Guy--
The four hated enemies battle back and forth througout, with Sly Drury taking most of the punishment for his team. After about 20 minutes of stiff action, Endgame hits Drury with ULTIMA LEAP to score the pin while Male and Guy fight outside the ring.
IH: Kill Prey, you’re hour has come. It’s time for you to give the Interplanetary title to me and I will determine its rightful owner.
IH: Time is of the essence, cretin, as the longer I wait, the more dire your punishment will be.
Still nothing…
IH: I’m growing tired of this pathetic game. You are no different than the Gladiators, Endgame or that pathetic bi---
Iron Hand’s rant is interrupted as Kill Prey’s music fills the arena. The first riff of his theme brings the crowd to its feet. The fans are sent into a frenzy as the I-P champion appears at the top of the entrance ramp. He storms his way to the ring and snatches the mircrophone from the commissioner…
KP: Stop talking! Stop talking! Listen to these people! You’ve been around for one show and they’re already sick of you!
Iron Hand has gotten another microphone and starts to speak but is cut off…
KP: No, I’m serious, shut up! You want my belt? Take it.
Kill Prey shocks the crowd by tossing the I-P belt at Iron Hand without hesitation. Kill Prey turns to walk away, but stops…his eyes lock with Iron Hand… Kill Prey offers a cocky smile and motions up…
As Iron Hand looks to the ceiling, a hunter's net fall down upon him... While the new commissioner fights to free himself, Kill Prey charges across the ring and spears him!
Standing over top of his downed foe, Kill Prey raises the microphone and speaks intensely…
KP: Make sure you give that title to a hell of a man, because I’m coming for my belt…and I’m coming for you!
