I voted no - I don't think the original one was an Ani-Man. I did think DSC was a cool concept that just didn't work. I tried him in my fed for a short while, but with that card of his nothing really worked out.

again, Maybe. I know that's sort of wishy washy. But he does fit the bill being an animal like characteristics. But didn't most Animen speak? I didn't think DSC did?!?

Argh! Dang Flip floppers! ;D Just kidding...the original DSC is not my favorite character and he seems more like a Frankenstein's monster type put together with other creatures part. So, the original might be several animen of Andromeda that didn't make the 'cut'...
The PM one isn't an Animan that I know of as the original story was that he was housed in the Cosmic Zoo and was from the frozen planet of Plaxibus-the dark star....in which, his fur was white and looked more like the Yeti before he was transformed into what Camagga/Mueck envisioned him for the Promoter Madness...but Cam is happy and that is what counts...so, no on the Animan debate.

I say yes, he just not as smart as most or just crazy. There's humans that are both and they're still human, kinda.
The original reminded me of Marvel comics Sauron. A Pterodactyl An-i-Man.
