And also for the record, Spike pretty much will just pick up the pieces of TNA if it goes under anyways. They need wrestling on that channel, they've had it for fourteen years this year. Without it they lose a chunk of their viewership. I remember reading about Spike wanting to do their own promotion without Dixie as far back as 2011 when it looked like the Jeff Hardy thing was going to kill TNA. Don't you think they would use Bischoff and Hogan to run things? Let's be honest, TNA is WCW, all old and wrinkley with a new wife, Dixie Carter. Unless Spike is willing to give a guy like Mike Quackenbush or Delirious a shot at booking their fed, who else is there? Not saying Bischoff is any good, he just seems to be the go-to-guy for some reason. And with that said, if Spike wants wrestling so bad why not approach ROH or Chikara? That's exactly what I'm saying. They've had the backup plan since 2011 that if TNA goes under, they're just going to pick up the pieces except this time it's Hogan and Bischoff in charge and Dixie has nothing to do with it and now that I think about it, her not being involved might actually be good. The problem with ROH is they're owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group and Spike's not going to pony up for a show that, to be blunt, has no stars and appeals to a niche demographic even more than ECW did. ROH appeals to that one kind of fan who just wants to see wrestling. Problem with that is, they're the group that "doesn't matter" if you ask people like Bischoff and he's actually pretty right. Most of the fans who would watch ROH already watch WWE or TNA just because it's wrestling. I love Chikara to death, but it's the same situation as ROH. You can have awesome characters and logical storylines all day but the problem is that type of product appeals to a super small niche of fans and Spike doesn't want that. They don't want cool characters and awesome angles, they want fucking Hogan and Bischoff.

Makes sense. Welcome to the GBITG btw. You are a great addition to the group with all your wrestling knowledge.

Thanks. Apparently Tara got cut today which is a good thing because she had a HUGE contract and she hasn't been on TV in months and she has a restaurant now. No real reason to keep her around.

DOC/Luke Gallows' contract was allowed to expire. Lame, but he can at least go back to NOAH now. It was kinda sad seeing his run their cut short so he could slum it in TNA for a year.

I don't know if it was a huge contract, but I did read that she was "far and away the highest paid knockout". Keep in mind though that the women on contract at TNA are notoriously underpaid, and that may still mean she wasn't getting more than just an okay contract with another company. She is in that transition to "life after wrestling" phase though and I'm happy for her that she was actually able to get a good contract from TNA for as long as she did. Apparently DOC/LG/Drew Hankison slipped through their fingers and was not a cost cutting type deal. His contract just ran up and they screwed up and didn't get a deal done in time. This is yet another example of why TNA may be better off if the "Beverly Hillbillies" sold the company to someone who would actually run it like something other than a hobby.

I know this is a massive pipe dream, but if I could have anyone run TNA at this point with any hopes of turning it around, it would be Dick Ebersol. He is one of the finest sports producers of all time, and his work on NFL Sunday Night, Saturday Night Live, and Saturday Night's Main Event is some of the best in TV. Again, a pipe dream, but I have seen him come in to troubled shows and companies before and turn them around. I'd be curious to see how he would fix this debacle...

I've read that Tara, Hemme and Mickie James were the three highest paid and all were either at or near a six figure deal. Wouldn't surprise me at all because the latter two are Dixie's friends and Tara was fresh out of WWE when they signed her. They did the same thing with Bobby Roode a few months ago. What a poorly ran company.

Here's the things I'd realistically change: - Stop paying the guys in OVW. - Stop using OVW as a developmental territory. They're not the OVW of ten years ago. - Release Rob Terry, Robbie E, Jesse Godderz, Zema Ion (if he isn't already which he might be), Wes Brisco (surely they can write him out) and after the BFG series, let Chavo, Hernandez, Jay Bradley go too. Probably release the Blossom Twins and Spud, they've only been on three or four times and if you bring them on now nobody will care. - Restructure everyone's contracts. Pay them per appearance and GIVE THEM THE ABILITY TO WORK THE MAJOR INDIES. This way the people you're not currently using can still make a half decent living plus the indies get a boost from having national names on their cards which helps everyone in the end. - Fire Bruce Prichard.
Do all of that and IMO they'd be on their way.
