UNDERGROUND WRESTLING'S TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS - undisclosed location in Philadelphia, PA
NOTES: Due to the graphic nature promised by this company, all major stadiums in the Philadelphia area refused to allow this company to book a match there. By using the underground dirt sheets and the internet, fans knew to gather at a certain abandoned warehouse on the city outskirts. With only four utility lights around the ring, barrel fires throughout the grounds, no seats and no toilets, this was arguably one of the most unique cards in the history of hardcore wrestling.
BUNKHOUSE RULES BATTLE ROYAL TO DETERMINE THE FIRST EVER PRIME TIME TV CHAMPION WON BY... Matt Tremont
NOTES: While we cannot confirm or deny that a couple of fans might have gotten in the ring, The Bulldozer used his fork to carve out his place as a champion. His hardcore demeanor and approach will set the tone quite nicely.
UNDERGROUND WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - QUALIFYING ROUND
Kevin Steen def. Pinky by pinfall
Chris Hero def. Homicide by knock out
Rhino def. Charlie Haas by pinfall
Cedric The Hitman def. Mikey O' Shea by pinfall
NOTES: Cedric and Mikey do not like each other. It was a pretty stiff match. Chris Hero is emerging as an anti-hero with the fans by actually taking the time to hide his cheating in a federation where referees are instructed to never allow a count out or a disqualification. The fans love the effort!
UNDERGROUND WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - SEMI FINAL ROUND
Cheerleader Melissa def. Mercedes Martinez by pinfall
Lufisto def. Kimber Lee by submission - Kimber Lee Busted Open!
NOTES: During the Melissa and Martinez match, there was a real life power outage, so we had it happen in the ring. When the generators came one, a male fan was in the ring trying to get cleavage shots on his cam-corder. The women beat the shit out of him, and then resumed the match to the cheers of the crowd. Lufisto/Lee was a five star match that the crowds loved, with Lufisto coming across like an old school shooter.
UNDERGROUND WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - QUALIFYING ROUND
Delirious def. Jon Moxley by pinfall
Rob Van Dam def. Greg Excellent by pinfall
vOodOo kAos def. Necro Butcher by pinfall - Necro Butcher busted open!
D.J. Hyde def. Tursas by pinfall
NOTES: Delirious used RED POISON for the win, Greg Excellent caught a wicked kick from Van Dam that required medical attention (read: the old guy in the back who had an old first aid kit), Butcher received the biggest pop of the night, and Tursas surprised the crowd, as people thought he was signed to Prime Time Wrestling. In later days, stories would emerge that Tursas was not happy with his position offered in Prime Time, and wanted to become the largest wrestler in the Underground. If it wasn't for the veteran powerhouse Hyde, the plan might have worked!
UNDERGROUND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - SEMI FINAL ROUND
The Briscoe Brothers (Mark and Jay) def. Los Banditos (Rico Dynamite & Tito Escondito), when Mark Briscoe pinned Tito Escondito
The Tribe (Hawaiian Lion and Navajo Warrior) def. Hardcore Rage (Danny Havok & Drake Younger) when Navajo Warrior pinned Drake Younger - Drake Younger busted open!
NOTES: Fans love their Briscoes. Tribe is an interesting tale. Hawaiian Lion is rumored to not have wanted to be part of the Underground, but Navajo Warrior had already signed contracts in their names. There is rumors of both men not being happy with the partner, but neither of them are commenting)
UNDERGROUND WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - QUARTER FINAL ROUND
Kevin Steen def. Chris Hero by pinfall
Rhino def. Cedric The Hitman by pinfall
Rob Van Dam def. Delirious by pinfall
D.J. Hyde def. vOodOo kAos by forfeit
NOTES: Kevin Steen caught Hero with a wicked power bomb on the concrete floor. There were no diagnosed injuries, but it was a sickening sound that those present would not soon forget. Rhino is the master of THE GORE. It is a finisher that has yet to fail all night! RVD/Delirious was a classic high flying affair that I can only hope is repeated in coming days. vOodOo kAos lost his match when instead of hitting Hyde with THE GONZO BOMB, he instead starting attacking the crowd. He fought his way out of the building, and was not seen for the rest of the night. Hyde was all set to lose, so it was a lucky break for him.
UNDERGROUND WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - FINALS
Cheerleader Melissa def. Lufisto by pinfall to become the first ever Underground Women's Champion.
NOTES: Match actually got both women over, which is important given the lack of women wrestling in the company. While it could be argued that the best women wrestlers are in this fed, strong matches will allow them to get notice in a federation where anything goes. Melissa is a classic wicked heel, and Lufisto is the darling of the fans. Could have some serious story writing traction with these two, that I can't wait to explore.
UNDERGROUND WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - SEMI FINALS
Rhino def. Kevin Steen by pinfall
NOTES: Rhino won his match using THE GORE. After the match, Kimber Lee, Steve Corino, and Jimmy Jacobs all hit the ring, and brutally powerbombed Rhino into the guardrails. He was taken to the back, and was not cleared to return. After it was announced that Rhino was not going to be able to continue, the crowd booed loudly. Shouting into the crowd, Steen told the crowd to "shut the fuck up!" and "if I can't be the World Champion, then neither can he!" . It was then that all four members of the newly re-born Team SCUM dropped their pants and mooned the crowd. It was at that point when security lead by the commissioner hit the ring, escorting the four of them off. As security took the quartet out, the commissioner announced that as a result of the injury, the winner of the Rob Van Dam vs. D.J. Hyde match would be crowned the Underground World Heavyweight Champion.
UNDERGROUND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - FINALS
The Briscoe Brothers def. The Tribe when Mark Briscoe pinned Navajo Warrior to become the first ever Underground Tag Team Champions. - Mark Briscoe busted open!
NOTES: The second five star match of the night, and one that drew a standing ovation from all parties. Given the nature of the previous shenanigans, it was nice to see some mutual respect earned in a classic match. The Briscoe Brothers will be a strong draw as champions, and The Tribe is a great opponent for them. Can't wait to see this one play out!
UNDERGROUND WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - FINALS
D.J. Hyde def. Rob Van Dam by pinfall to become the first ever Underground World Heavyweight Champion. Rob Van Dam busted open!
NOTES: Lots of blood in this match, and that's as fitting as it gets for a hardcore inspired fed. The blood loss gives Van Dam an out for not winning the big one, but Hyde deserves a lot of credit to emerging as the champion. He may not have been a favorite going into the tournament, but his toughness and drive served him well, and allow him to be a very credible champion.
UNDERGROUND WORLD CHAMPION: D.J. Hyde, 300 lbs., Omaha, NE 1) Matt Tremont, 200 lbs., Atlantic City, NJ 2) Delirious, 189 lbs., Dante's Inferno 3) Rob Van Dam, 237 lbs., Battle Creek, MI 4) Rhino, 270 lbs., Detroit, MI 5) vOodOo kAos, 212 lbs., Hollywood, CA 6) Chris Hero, 240 lbs., Metropolis 7) Kevin Steen, 255 lbs., Marieville, Quebec, Canada 8) Cedric The Hitman, 205 lbs., Undisclosed Location 9) Charlie Haas, 249 lbs., Dallas, TX 10) Pinky, 320 lbs., Ashes of a Broken Heart

UNDERGROUND WRESTLING PRESENTS...
Live event from BGSU Ice Arena in Bowling Green, OH (74% of tickets sold)
Necro Butcher def. Delirious by pinfall
NOTES: Great match to set the tone for this company. Two of the most crafty veterans who are willing to go the extra mile for their fans. A very good back and forth match where each man claimed an advantage, the war of attrition was won by Necro Butcher when he caught Delirious with CHOOSE DEATH. A folk hero does good, and the crowd was very happy with both the match and the finish.
Jon Moxley def. Cedric The Hitman by pinfall
NOTES: Not too much of a match, very chippy before and after. Might make a feud down the road, but right now, fans weren't impressed with the match. Both men need to improve down the road.
Mikey O'Shea def. B.J. Whitmer by pinfall
NOTES: Whitmer had the early advantage in the match, but once it went to the outside, weapons started coming into play, and that turned the advantage for O'Shea. The large Irish-American was able to weather some formidable offense in order to catch Whitmer with a stalling suplex that took him out of the game.
Tursas def. Masada by pinfall
NOTES: Two monsters met, but only one emerged. Masada is a hyper-violent fan favorite. Tursas is the Scandanavian War Messenger who defected from Prime Time Wrestling to overpower the Underground. If there is a weakness in Tursas, it's that he takes a while to get going in a match. Masada threw everything but the kitchen sink at him, and by all rights should have won. But like a diesel engine, Tursas kept building power and momentum no matter how many chair shots were delivered by Masada. In the end, the chair shots had no effect as Tursas grabbed Masada, went up the turnbuckle and executed a DIVING CROSS BODY for the pinfall. Fans loved this match, and I want to get it booked again REAL soon!
vOodOo kAos def. Pinky by pinfall
NOTES: Not much to report. Pinky should have done better, but kAos and that GONZO BOMB. What else can you do? Fans aren't sure what to make of kAos yet, as he is very erratic and some fans think it's too much of an act. But as fans who attended the last show can attest to on their internet posts, when he throws chairs and punches in the middle of a crowd, there's nothing fake about it. He's a true wild child, and the Underground is his playpen.
INTERMISSION: GO OUT AND SMOKE, OR GRAB A BEER. OR IF YOU'RE LUCKY, YOU CAN FIND ROB VAN DAM IN THE GREEN ROOM. YEAH, IT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU THINK IT IS!
COUCH TIME... with Charlie Haas
The Queen of The Underground, Wiggy Wigowski, got to spend some Couch Time with Charlie Haas. Apparently, Charlie didn't quite get the format of the show, and started off the interview process as if it was a psychiatrists visit.
"I am a professional wrestler. I am one of the finest pure athletes this sport has ever produced. Yet her I am, surrounded by fatbodies who get famous for getting hit in the head with chairs. That's not talent! That's being too stupid to duck! It pisses me off to lumped in with all of these losers here. But Doc (the look on Wiggy's face was priceless), I don't need you and your fancy degree to figure me out. I'm issuing an open challenge to TV Champion Matt Tremont. He only has that title by winning a battle royal. He is a fat, talentless fuck who got lucky once in his lifetime. If you have the balls, Matt, come and meet me for the title next week. After all, you are a champion, and I'm just a wrestler in a hardcore landscape. What do have to lose?"
NOTES: Weird interview to be sure, but Haas certainly deserves title contention. Poor Wiggy. We'll get you a better guest next week. I promise.
Kevin Steen def. Archibald Peck by pinfall
NOTES: Weird bit of comedy here, as it was one sided. Archibald Peck started off the match with a plea to Top 10 Wrestling to please get him out of the company, saying that man of his culture and sophistication does not belong in a dingy arena with miscreants. "And poor Veronica, who is suffering just as much as I am....", he pleaded as Veronica looked off to the side and yawned, "she is delicate flower who cannot blossom in such a place...". Kevin Steen, a monster heel, went ballistic and proceeded to trash Peck with chair shots, beating with a kendo stick, and finally driving him through a table outside of the ring. Peck was pinned and left for dead as Veronica very calmly collected the crying Peck, and helped him to the back. Veronica is clearly not upset by any of this. What is going on in her mind?
Lufisto def. Kimber Lee by pinfall
NOTES: Man, Lufisto is such a welcome addition. Not just to the women's division here, but to the fed as a whole. The fans have embraced her like I never would have expected. Her style of wrestling, quirky mannerisms, and anime influence have made her as natural to this company as chairs and barbed wire. Excellent match with Lee that ended with a spectacular DEATHJUMP. Next week, she will get her rematch against Cheerleader Melissa for the Women's Championship.
Rob Van Dam def. Chris Hero by pinfall
NOTES: Surprisingly disappointed with this one. Chris Hero hung tough in this match, but was completely overpowered by Van Dam to the point where he didn't get any offense in. After THE FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH, the pin victory was academic. I had a lot of high hopes (no pun intended) for Chris Hero, but this match didn't show me anything from him. At this point, I don't want to consider him above mid card. Yes, the match was THAT bad.
Hardcore Rage (Danny Havoc & Drake Younger) def. The Tribe (Hawaiian Lion and Navajo Warrior) - Hawaiian Lion AND Drake Younger BUSTED OPEN!
NOTES: Five star match to end the evening, and considering how off some of the card was, it was a much needed finish. While The Tribe is one of the best pure power tag teams this sport has ever seen, the hardcore environment suits and empowers Havoc & Younger. Both men used their brains that the weapons around ringside to keep pace with a more powerful unit. Best high spot of the night had Navajo Warrior climb a ladder in the ring to crash into Drake Younger on the outside of the ring. Last minute roll out as Warrior splashed through the table. Minutes later, Havoc caught Warrior with THE GENERAL ORDER for the pinfall victory. Major victory for Hardcore Rage, who were a mongrel team I placed to fill a roster, and who are starting to really gel. And considering how much I need to build stars that can please a hardcore audience, I'm glad it's working. Great finish!

UNDERGROUND WRESTLING PRESENTS...
Live event from The Rostraver Ice Gardens, in Rostraver Township, PA (88% of tickets sold)
Before the matches, please welcome the new Commissioner of Underground Wrestling... PAUL ELLERING
"If there is one thing I know better than anyone, it's how to completely shake up the world of professional wrestling. Starting tonight, we are going to re-define hardcore by creating the latest chapter of wrestling excellence. From the bowels of the Underground, let's bring forth a revolution!"
OPENING MATCH: TV TITLE MATCH: Matt Tremont (champion) vs. Charlie Haas (challenger)
On Couch Chat with Wiggy, Charlie Haas made a strong case for getting a title match. But as great as Charlie Haas is as a wrestler, he was not prepared for the start of the match when "The Bulldozer" assaulted him with a fork, cutting him open. Haas could not get the advantage back as Tremont used everything he could unleash on Haas before finishing him off with a sit down powerbomb. Strong start to the night! WINNER BY PINFALL... AND STILL TELEVISION CHAMPION... MATT TREMONT!
Mikey O'Shea vs. Jon Moxley
What struck a lot of fans about this match was the chemistry both men had. As good as they were as opponents, their styles were surprisingly complementary. Action spilled out of the ring Mikey O'Shea putting Moxley through a table, and Moxley later enacting revenge with a steel chair. In the end, Jon Moxley popped the crowd by delivering a textbook flying elbow to the chants of "MACHO MAN, MACHO MAN". Great finish, great match, and I hope to see these two in the ring again soon. If not as opponents, perhaps as partners? WINNER BY PINFALL - JON MOXLEY
Tursas vs. Stigma
A battle of the masked men! Stigma is an unknown quantity in The Underground, and utilized a lot of unique offensive moves that looked straight out of Japan. But even this array of moves could do little against The Scandavian War Messenger. Outside of the ring, Tursas ran both him and Stigma against the wall outside of the entrance way, resulting in a sickening thud heard around the arean. In addition to winning the power game, he surprised a lot of fans by not only executing a flying dropkick, but also a top rope splash. As his in ring confidence and ability grows, can nothing stand in the way of the biggest monster in The Underground? WINNER BY PINFALL - TURSAS
vOodOo kAos vs. Ray Rojas
One of the wildest men in The Underground. Not the ideal opponent for a wrestler making their debut. Ray Rojas came in with a lot of skill, but all the skill in the world can't save you from a lunatic who tried to dissect you with a ladder. Scientific match? Not even close. It was a bloodbath, with kAos taking out Rojas with a ladder before finishing him up with a pinfall. WINNER BY PINFALL - VOODOO KAOS
After the match, kAos continued the assault until Commissioner Ellering came down to ringside with security and stepped between the men. With a determined eye, his message was crystal clear...
"kAos, when that bell rings, the match is over. When it rings multiple times after that, I'm going to make sure things don't get too far out of hand. You may scare everyone else in this building, but I've seen scarier than you, my friend. If you want to test me, you can do so whenever you want. And don't think for a second that security is here for my protection. It's here to protect you. Now... GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ARENA!"
The fans where cheering as kAos literally walked out of the front doors of the arena. They were also cheering the fact that they had a Commissioner who was more than willing to get in the thick of action when needed. And considering that Rojas needed assistance getting to the medics, his presence was definitely appreciated. Will Ellering and kAos cross paths again?
The Tribe (Hawaiian Lion & Navajo Warrior) vs. Los Banditos (Rico Dynamite and Tito Escondito)
Before the match, Los Banditos promised to avenge their fellow Latino, Ray Rojas, by "beating the fuck out of two other faggots in face paint". And that was all it took for this match to become a five star war. Surprisingly, no weapons were used in this match. Sure, it was brutal, and Hawaiian Lion was busted open with fists to his head, but these men had enough anger and tenacity to do the jobs themselves. In the end, Navajo Warrior caught Tito Escondito with RESERVATION DEVASTATION for the pinfall victory, which the crowd cheered on in droves. Standing ovation after this match ended. WINNERS BY PINFALL - THE TRIBE
Intermission - drink beer, smoke in the cold winter night, and buy some bootleg videos and DVDs from a skeesy guy's station wagon
Rhino vs. Pinky
The crowd was on their feet to welcome back Rhino, who was taken out during the semi-finals of the World Championship tournament by Kevin Steen. For Pinky, it was a chance for someone to feel his pain and suffering. And it didn't take long to become an out and out slug-fest. Both men smashed each other furiously with chairs and anything else that wasn't nailed down. They fought through the crowd on two separate occasions, and the brutality was unheard of. And what a finish. As Rhino laid on the concrete floor, Pinky brought open a ladder to deliver a brutal splash. But as Pinky hit the top of the ladder, Rhino recovered and climbed it. Above the crowd, both men fought until Rhino was able to suplex the 300 plus pound Pinky into the ring. After the match, Rhino had one message, and it was for one person...
"Steen! You cost me my shot at the title! You tried to end my career! Steen, I don't care how long it takes! I am going to get you in the ring, and you will bleed like no one has in the history of hardcore! I promise you that!!!"
WINNER BY PINFALL - RHINO
Hardcore Rage (Danny Havoc & Drake Younger) vs. Steve Corino & Jimmy Jacobs
Good match from the get go, with Hardcore Rage getting the early advantage. But during the match, Kimber Lee came down to ringside to distract Hardcore Rage. It didn't work as the men were getting ready to suplex her into a ladder. But then Corino and Jacobs came to her rescue with kendo sticks. After beating Danny Havoc bloody, it was an academic win for Corino & Jacobs. After the match, Kimber Lee celebrated with the victors. What's the connection? WINNERS BY PINFALL - STEVE CORINO & JIMMY JACOBS
CIBERNETICO QUALIFIED MATCH: Kevin Steen vs. Homicide
Man, to have either of these men represent The Underground at the pay per view could make a huge difference in which team was going to win. And both men swung for the fences in what was clearly a favorite match of the night. Steen may have been the stronger of the two, but Homicide used every weapon he could get his hands on to bloody up his opponent. The highlight reel move of the match was Homicide coming off the ladder and using a steel chair to help him catch Steen with a senton bomb. Huge pop for the finish and the win. WINNER BY PINFALL - HOMICIDE
After the match, Steen was irate and throwing chairs all over the ring. Suddenly, a familiar face walked towards him. It was his former manager, Truth Martini, along with Jimmy Jacobs, Steve Corino, and Kimber Lee. Grabbing a microphone, Martini made quite the offer...
"Kevin, my boy, this place can rough! There are a lot of people who want to keep you down. How about instead of taking lumps, you take this offer? You come and join us, we reform The House of Truth, and we rule The Underground?"
Needless to say, he said yes, as all five of them egged on a booing crowd. Five desperate souls working together for their own common goals. This cannot bode well for the rest of The Underground!
#1 CONTENDERS MATCH: Necro Butcher vs. Rob Van Dam
With a title shot against World Champion D.J. Hyde going to the winner, both men brought all their best moves to the dance. The highlight of the night was watching each man suplex the other four times in a row during separate moments in the match. Some use of ladders for splashes, but in the end, it came down to who was hungrier for the belt. Using CHOOSE DEATH, Necro Butcher was able to capitalize and will face D.J. Hyde next week for a chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion. WINNER BY PINFALL: NECRO BUTCHER
MAIN EVENT: WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH: Cheerleader Melissa (champion) vs. Lufisto (challenger)
No one was disappointed in this choice for a main event. Cheerleader Melissa is the queen bee of The Underground, and Lufisto is one of the most popular women to ever compete in hardcore wrestling. Both women put forth a tremendous match, with each one utilizing their strengths to their fullest. Melissa used a ladder on the legs of Lufisto, and Lufisto answered in kind with chair shots to Melissa's face. In a match that went 33 minutes, it came down to Lufisto locking in THE MANGALIZER, and forcing Melissa to tap out in the center of the ring. The crowd exploded as a new champion was crowned. WINNER BY SUBMISSION... AND NEW WOMEN'S CHAMPION... LUFISTO!
"To all of my fans, thank you! I fight every single night for every single one of you. That is what hardcore is all about. It's about giving everything you have in this ring every night. And to do that for all of you, and to win this title, it means more to me than words can say. Domo, Pittsburgh, Domo!"
**********
MATCHES SIGNED FOR NEXT WEEK...
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: D.J. HYDE (CHAMPION) VS. NECRO BUTCHER (CHALLENGER)
WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH: LUFISTO (CHAMPION) VS. SARAYA KNIGHT (CHALLENGER)
#1 CONTENDER'S MATCH: ROB VAN DAM VS. KEVIN STEEN
**********
