John Cena announced on Twitter this evening that he will be undergoing shoulder surgery tomorrow in Birmingham, Alabama. PWInsider reports that Cena is suffering from a torn rotator cuff and is expected to miss WWE's WrestleMania 32.
At one point, Cena had been scheduled to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. This would be the first WrestleMania without Cena wrestling.
As noted, his last match came on December 30th at a WWE live event against United States Champion Alberto Del Rio. He did not appear on RAW but did appear on SmackDown but did not wrestle.

Cant tell you how much more I'm looking forward to WM with this news. Not just because it opens up a top spot for someone else, and hopefully a huge opportunity for someone newer, but it forces the writers to really challenge themselves. Some of the greatest wrestlers of all time were spawned from dumb luck opportunity.
Cena vs Undertaker? Blah. Missed that boat long ago. Would have been perfect to see Taker win that match the year before losing to Brock. Now it's just a reminder of another missed opportunity by those in charge. Plus, Taker is just hard to watch at this point.
