Is he some HHH/Flair hybrid? No. I’ve always cringed at his HHH stuff. But he’s the biggest star in AEW. He’s on two TNT TV shows…founder of the company - responsible for the birth of AEW - without him there is no fed. So he’s as big of a star as AEW has had. He’s not Cena, but AEW would be silly to let him go, which I why I don’t buy it. But is Cody responsible for the birth of AEW? Did everyone else jump on the bandwagon of his vision? Seems to me, I remember it differently as more than one guy coming up with it? Was it his money? I wouldn't even classify him as the biggest star in the Elite?! He seemed more like the odd man out. He's in the buddy business. I agree with you though, he's not Reigns, Cena, Lesner. I believe he's more like Big E in WWE. Give him the world title for a couple of months, then back to mid card for the 24/7 title as Stardust! He's better off in AEW OR hey, why not buy out ROH and be the guy he wants to be? Save those pennies! Cha-ching! I think he is responsible for AEW. No Cody, no AEW. Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks aren’t mainstream acts. Cody and Jericho are responsible for AEW. WWE is responsible for AEW. That’s why their shows are packed with WWE guys and why I have such a hard time believing this. Would be a historic blow AEW to lose him back to WWE. And if he ever does go to WWE, I don’t think he will be jobbed out or made an example of like some AEW fans predict. Quite the opposite in fact. Big E - different subject but Big E wishes he was Cody. Guy has zero range. Comedy act. Colt Cabana with muscles. His best match ever was the ladder match he won MITB in. But he’s not sustainable as a singles star. IC level guy and there is nothing wrong w that.

He won't job right away in WWE, but I doubt he'll be Main Eventing long. He's a better act than Big E. The only comparison between those two is the treatment they received. The more things change, the more they stay the same in WWE. I hope he doesn't go to WWE, hope you're right it's all a work. He's better off doing his own thing, being Cody. He still has a long ways to go in his Legacy.

The more things change, the more they stay the same in WWE. This is why I compare the current news model in wrestling to the 2016-2020 political news model. 24/7/365 WWE bashing no matter what they do. When Big E won MITB - he was hot shotted they said. Then when he was champion they said he wasn’t over. Wasn’t getting ratings. Then when he lost it, he was mistreated. But if you watch WWE, the guy gets incredible cheers every time he’s out there. He’s over. He’s been a multi time WWE tag team champion - maybe most ever I’m not sure. He’s on prime time TV every week, I don’t see that as mistreatment. People say WWE doesn’t build stars. Big E is a TV star. With or without the belt. He’s simply best suited for the IC/tag level. When was the last time Christian was on TV? Or AEW champion? I look at wrestling like the movies. Thanos knocked out Thor (maybe it was Captain America I forget) w one punch. In WWE, Brock beat Kofi in a squash. I don’t think anybody is being mistreated playing a fictional character and losing a fight.

Without him backing it w his money there is no AEW. But Cody was the ring leader, the idea man and the driving force behind AEW. He was the guy in front of the cameras when it all started, making all the big statements and doing all the interviews etc.. Omega came later. But it was Cody going to the indies and reinventing himself - then turning down WWE to instead start AEW that sparked the revolution. He hadn’t been booked all that great in AEW so far, I agree, but he’s definitely not as disposable as it might seem.

Since pro wrestling isn't considered a pro sport, but rather Sports entertainment, I guess political angles is what it is. 🤷

Even attempting to read that is exhausting. If he’s WWE bound then he shows up on RAW or SD this week. If not, then I’ll really not buy it. I saw where TK has a “massive announcement” this week…so maybe it’s Cody.

I saw where TK has a “massive announcement” this week…so maybe it’s Cody. Hard to say, but according to that report, seems like it's legit. Even if he doesn't show up on RAW OR SD, he might show up in Saudi? But I'm with ya on that big announcement TK announced, thinking...it might be Cody! LoL At any rate, I hope Cody gets that big pay day like CM Punk or Byran Danielson, like he wanted. Whether it's WWE or AEW. I just feel he will only be catered to by WWE for a limited time, not getting exactly what he wants. I doubt he will be happy? Time will tell, right?
