So Cody & Brandi are leaving AEW. Reports saying in talks with WWE, expected to sign.
Is this weird?

Cody > Punk for sure. If this really came down to money, TK screwed up big time. AEW doesn’t exist without Cody. Punk just jumped on the bandwagon.

I get the feeling it wasn't about the money. He clearly wasn't happy, according to reports in the locker rooms. And I really doubt Cody was the heartbeat of AEW. Sure, he started it from the beginning, but he wasn't alone in it. AEW won't suffer.
Is Cody really that big of a star as he thinks he is in his head? 🤔🤷

No. I’ve always cringed at his HHH stuff. But he’s the biggest star in AEW. He’s on two TNT TV shows…founder of the company - responsible for the birth of AEW - without him there is no fed. So he’s as big of a star as AEW has had. He’s not Cena, but AEW would be silly to let him go, which I why I don’t buy it.

Let’s pretend he really is going back to WWE (I don’t think he is). I think he’s Bobby Lashley/Drew McIntyre. Not a top top guy like Roman or Brock, but Vince respects the hustle. I can see him with a big run with the title though. Seems silly discussing it though. There was a story that said something like Vince I’d super excited to sign an “AEW EVP” or something like that. Sounded really made up, like a way to really build up Cody’s stock so when he doesn’t go to WWE it will be this huge deal for AEW to keep him,

Did everyone else jump on the bandwagon of his vision? Seems to me, I remember it differently as more than one guy coming up with it? Was it his money? I wouldn't even classify him as the biggest star in the Elite?! He seemed more like the odd man out. He's in the buddy business. I agree with you though, he's not Reigns, Cena, Lesner. I believe he's more like Big E in WWE. Give him the world title for a couple of months, then back to mid card for the 24/7 title as Stardust! He's better off in AEW OR hey, why not buy out ROH and be the guy he wants to be? Save those pennies! Cha-ching!
