If Sunday didn't prove what I've been saying then nothing will. I can accept my role as the croggitty old asshole of the community, doesn't bother me a bit.
The four rooms that were set up for Sunday's ROAD TO HALL OF FAME WEEKEND virtual con.
Tournament room A Tournament room B Tournament room C Legends discussion room
Where was the COTG room?
So our choices was to watch tournaments we don't care about or sit in the Legends room and listen to ONE, maybe two, dominate the conversation about their thoughts on Legends.
A four pack of badass Kronos cards, (OMEGA, SECTARIAN, PARALYZE & CHAOS SUPREME) sold for $23, while Ivan Koloff sold for $25. Barry made sure to mockingly point that out in the 'chat', and I made sure to screenshot his post for posterity sake.
... and you want me to believe it's going to be GALACTICON in Waterloo??...?

KB, I wasn’t mocking. Greatly appreciate you inferring my meaning from my words. I also appreciate you leaving the context out: where I said previously that the bubble had burst on the market for Virtual Con Exclusive cards. I pointed it out to show that the absurd prices folks were getting for their extras has passed. But, again, it is great that you know what my intentions were more than myself. Also, Kronos is an offshoot alternate timeline line up. If you have time for only one fed, you probably are going with your main timeline - started back almost 40 years ago, IMO. Maybe I don’t have time for everything COTG related, other than the main timeline. In fact, I don’t even have a legends fed running right now, I have only my COTG fed that is active. I hope your screen shot for posterity, included the context too, but if not no big deal. You clearly know me better than I know myself.

What context?..? They were two separate post... Yes, you did post the bubble for con exclusive cards had burst, but Koloff was a con exclusive card... You said "Did anyone notice that Koloff by himself went for more than all four of the Kronos cards?" Knowing, we all saw it.. I even posted "$23?!?!?" after the Kronos sold which prompted your con cards bubble burst reply. So again you knew we all saw it, so why the post? If it wasn't a 'mocking' shot then what was it? If it TRULY wasn't your intent then I apologize....

If it TRULY wasn't your intent then I apologize.... Again see my intention. I believe to it was in reference to a previous chat I made at the perennial about the bubble on the con exclusive cards, save Nacho and Piper’s Pit, bursting. It was a continued trend. Which is good for the game. It was absurd that the con exclusive cards were going for that much, so I was just pointing out that we were finally to a place where cards for previous cons were netting about the cost of a ticket or less in some cases. That was all, no mocking intended. I mean I’d happily admit if it was my intention, but it wasn’t. As I said, I am, currently, just a COTG player, in May of 2087, and someday may return to Legends, but as it sits only have time for one fed, which where I want to spend time, is the game that enticed me to FG, COTG mainline.

Hall Of Fame weekend has been the highlight of my summer for two years running. The coolest, chillest weekend ever. If more Filsinger Games brothers (I'd say "and sisters", but who am I fooling?) can attend then it's all the better. there's room for us all there. Again, it's not really a structured event outside of the banquet and induction ceremony. More of a gathering of like minded people. It CAN be Galacticon for anyone who shows up and makes it so.
I think those cards sold low because everybody already had them. I can't remember who won that auction but even he only needed one of those cards. They need to quit auctioning virtual convention cards at virtual cons. We all caught on and even if we can't attend we buy the ticket to get the cards now.

I always assumed that the Legends breakout room was more so us Legends-centric players don't dominate the main room, which was fairly CotG focused any time I was in there. I'm not trying to upset you here, but it really just seems like you WANT to be upset by things. It's like the people who watch AEW or WWE just to talk about how much they dislike it and/or how much better it used to be. Yes, your game has to share the spotlight with one that arguably has eclipsed it in terms of popularity/company focus...but you can either deal with that gracefully, or like you're currently doing, which isn't "croggitty", it's just sort of petulant.

First off, welcome to the board Carlzilla! I would ask what brings you here, but it seems obvious. So why bother? I left the 'main' board so I could share my 'toxic' views, but it seems the 'main' board is coming to me now. I always assumed that the Legends breakout room was more so us Legends-centric players don't dominate the main room, which was fairly CotG focused any time I was in there. Therein lies my point, there was no 'main' room. There was 4 rooms total - 3 Tournament rooms (A-C) and a room labeled Legends room. So the choices were watch tournaments that you don't care about or listen to you dominate the conversation in the Legends room. There was no COTG room for me to escape to and if you think I'm the only one who feels the way I do, you would be sorely mistaken. I'm just the one who doesn't give a fuck about public perception. You always know where you stand with me, because I will say what I think. Perception is not reality, because people that really know me know what I'm about and what I do for others. I love LEGENDS and own every set, except for a couple of Ladies sets (not my cup of tea), but when I'm told LOW is the way now and COTG fans need to sit in a corner, accept it and be quiet.... I can't and won't do that! I have never seen a COTG set fall so flat on the boards as the latest Future Shock set, and simply pointed out the fact that it's now on page 5 of most recently updated threads. People say they're just not posting their feds and I get that - it can be daunting, but there's no reviews or thoughts of any kind. Anyway... I'm glad your first post here wasn't to upset or take shots at me, ending with you calling me petulant. So, you can have this board too and I will find my corner, accept the way things are now and be quiet.

The goal wasn't to call you petulant, it was to make you aware of how your posts about CotG not being the focus any longer come off.
I'm not bringing any sort of toxicity to anywhere, in fact, I was kind of hoping by pointing out that you come off like you want to be angry about the direction and choices that Filsinger Games are making that you'd snap out of it and maybe just focus on the stuff you enjoy about it. I know it's a long-shot, but sometimes people can be unaware of the optics, especially when they're upset about something. I know I've certainly been in that boat.
I'm going to be 100% transparent here, I don't really enjoy CotG or the Indies stuff, shocker I know, but I wouldn't be upset if they decided to focus on the Independents game or CotG for a virtual con with speakers and panels mostly leaning in that direction. I certainly wouldn't make threads about it questioning their integrity, motive, what-have-you.
I'm not trying to attack you, and honestly, I've never had a bad interaction with you at the cons, on the boards, etc. So it's not a personal thing or an "I'm defending Legends" thing, I'm just hoping that eventually you'll come around to focusing on what is there that you enjoy instead of getting frustrated by all the stuff you perceive as slights against what you enjoy.
As far as the room situation, the 4 "rooms" were breakout rooms. They were meant to funnel specific things away from the main room, which was the default room that you landed in when you joined the con. I wasn't in there a ton during the con except for during the panels, but I sat in there for quite a while after the con ended and listened to CotG talk from Pete, Jack, yourself, and others. I still enjoyed it even though it's not my focus. There also seemed to be some CotG talk going on in there during the tournaments and stuff when I'd rejoin the main room from time to time to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Again, for the sake of transparency, I didn't spend a ton of time in the main room during the general chat time because most of what I wanted to talk about was Legends focused, and so that room is where I set up camp, so maybe I'm wrong and there was only minor CotG talk in there and I just happened to rejoin at the right times.
I don't think anyone is telling you to sit a corner as a CotG fan, especially not from the official team, and aside from Mike M joining the legends chat for a little while, MOST of what I heard from FG staff was about their CotG games, but they also can't control what fans want to talk about during the "free chat" portion of these events. I've done all the virtual cons at this point except for the very first virtual GalactiCon, and before they introduced the Legends breakout room, most of the talk in the main room was Legends focused, so I think they ARE trying to make sure everyone has a place to converse. I guess maybe suggest to Todd that we also need a CotG breakout room for future cons? I would guess the intention was that if the Legends chat was broken off to it's own space, the main space would become more CotG focused, but not having a specific space for it may have created what I believe was an unintentional appearance of bias.
Anyway, I'm not here to fight with you, I joined the forum access to some of the older bootlegs hosted here, so again, I'm not trying to bring any sort of negativity or toxicity to the space. Just wanted to point out that some of what you are pointing out as issues, seem to be mountains created from molehills to others.

Nothing lasts forever. LOW fans don’t get it and never will. That’s not a knock. It’s just a fact. Not everyone sat on Tom’s deck talking COTG many summers growing up. LOW is a business while COTG was a lifestyle.
I’m retired because I saw the writing on the wall. No hard feelings, but I get it.
I also think petulant much better describes the low audience with their insatiable taste for what’s coming next than what’s just been served to them — but that’s a different subject for another time.

I’ll even go as far to admit I’ve been BORED out of my mind at GCON and at most VCons over the past several years. The events have been focused on Legends speaking (which I totally get is amazing for most people — just not me) and very little on COTG tournaments and other GWF things.
The routine is usually show up, get bounced out of the GWF tournament then sit around the rest of the weekend waiting for the GCON Cup. These are human beings and disappointment is a very real emotion. Again — nothing LOW fan could ever grasp because before that first Bundy card came out — EVERYTHING was COTG based.
No way Mike’s EC set becomes an underground collector’s item in todays era. But back then something like that was a BIG deal.
And now GCON is based around the HOF…
So ya, if you’re not a LOW fan, it gets pretty boring sometimes, especially the Cons.
