Thanks for keeping us posted. Everybody remember at G-Con to be very careful with Rob's liver! No getting him liquored up, and no body punches (this means YOU, Jim Steel!) Beer doesn't count as liqour so that's a ggod thing. Rob can still throw back a pint or two. And hey it's American beer so how much damage could it do. And no kidney punches ok, but are chops still on the not to do to Rob list. I can give a mean chop.

Hey guys, not much new to report but I have talked to Rob today and he did have a test on his liver to see if it could handle having a properly working heart transplanted and the test came back with good news.
Apparently his doctors are trying to get him on the fast track to the donor list, which is great news.
He may be kept in the hospital for a few extra days but it seems like more for observation than anything else.

Got my fingers crossed. I know right now GCon isn't that important (relatively) and it's still a few months down the road but I sure hope he can make it this year.

Went and saw Rob in the hospital last night. He is looking and sounding like his old self.
His liver test came back great so they are confident he can accept a normal heart.
During his surgery to put in the pace maker, the Dr.'s were surprised that his heart was functioning at such a low level. So they have him on a medicine that helps his heart pump blood.
The plan was to send him home and keep on this medicine for a few months until they scheduled him for a transplant.
Well, the docs met the other day and think that he may not be able to make it a few months out of the hospital on this medicine so they are going to transfer him into the cardio ICU and put his status on the donor list to A-1 and he could have the transplant as early as within the next 2 weeks!

Wow... that is intense, Brett. Good news about the liver testing and Rob's overall status. But the reality of the transplant happening sooner rather than later brings this whole issue into a different perspective. Still thinking and praying for Rob every day. Thanks for the updates!
