Here's what I've heard today:
On Rob's sister's FB page, she said when Rob woke up today, his first word was "STRONG."
Not sure what else is going on as I've been unable to get ahold of Katrina or any of his family but at least the news is good!!

Got some texts from Rob today and he says he feels "awesome." He has done 5 laps around his floor today already.
His surgery started at 5am and they woke him up at 7pm so it seems like everything went very well. he said the docs told him he may be going home in 2-3 days. Originally he was scheduled to stay in for a week following the procedure so that is great news!

I talked to Rob on the phone last night. When he had his first operation last year, he sounded pretty weakened by the surgery, but this time around he sounded just like his normal self! Within 2 minutes we were talking wrestling so you know he's feeling pretty well!
The only bad part was following his procedure, they insert 2 plastic tubes into the stomach and they go pretty much up to the lungs. This is to get rid of any bleeding or drainage that may occur. He said when they pull those out, it's pretty damn unpleasant! But once they were out he said he felt great!
They are planning to send him home sometime Sunday.
Let's hope this is the last time he has to deal with anything like this!!

wow this came as a suprise. hope he gets better Hey guys - thanks for the kind words! I didn't say anything about this because it wasn't a big deal, and I didn't want anyone worrying about me, or needed to get better or any top shelf comedians exploiting my surgery or anything like that. The down low in that back in April during a biopsi they accidentally snagged a valve in my heart and it needed to be fixed. the worst I was going through was a lack of strong cardio and some added weight due to some water retention (associated with the flail valve). I also stopped lifting in May mostly because when you have blood flow issues with heart lifting weights isn't the best idea. Other than that everything else has been the same. The process was the same (or pretty close to being...) as when I had the transplant. Got split in half again so I've got a good 3 months of recovery for that ahead of me. Biggest difference is that this time around, other than the scar it's like nothing happened. No weight loss, no energy loss, was up walking around the same evening of the surgery...got all the same amazing drugs It's weird because I feel totally the same (but better!) so I have to be really careful not being too active or doing too much for awhile. I'm really supposed to lay low physically (other than cardio) and avoid stress for a few months. My initial instincts are to do all my normal activities and jump right back into working again (even though I work out of my house). It's hard to lay around when you don't feel like you have to. Once I've been cleared after my next follow up in a few weeks, I'll dive back into work and into Territories (and everything else). Thanks again for everything!
