Well, Generico DID beat Steen, but I've kind of padded his record up to this point. Admittedly I kind of wanted Jay Briscoe to win the triple threat that got EG the title match, but so far Generico has won when it matters. Now I'll see if he can defend versus Steen, Richards, or maybe both (depending on how this plays out).

ROH live event Raleigh, NC Unbreakable Micheal Elgin (2-2/1dq) defeated TJ Perkins (1-2/1dq). TJ started quick with a Tornado DDT that would have resulted in a pin had Truth Martini not jumped on the apron to provide the distraction. Elgin got back into the match and a classic match of speed versus strength ensued. Strength won out in the end, as Elgin hit his second Spinning sitout power bomb of the match to get the pin. Coleman and Alexander (1/1dq-2) won by disqualification over The Young Bucks (1-2/1dq) There was plenty of high flying, high risk action in the match. Both teams had chances to win early, only to crash and burn after missing high risk finisher attempts. The bout spilled to the floor after a little more than ten minutes. Matt Jackson failed to listen to the referee's warning and got disqualified while choking Coleman with a mic cord. Grizzly Redwood won a 3-way match over Kyle O'Reilly and Matt Taven. Taven surprisingly dominated the early minutes of the bout until a well-placed kick by O'Reilly turned it around. Grizzly got his chance to shine after that, nearly pinning Kyle before it was broken up by Taven. Taven paid for that minutes later as he ended up being pinned after Grizzly hit the "Wood Chipper" for the victory after back dropping Kyle out of the ring. Prodigy Mike Bennett (3-1/1dq) beat Tomasso Ciampa (2-4) yet again. Tomasso got distracted early by Maria and Brutal Bob and again fell to Bennett. This time it was a pair of Box Office Smashes that led to defeat for the Sicilian Psychopath, who may want to think about enlisting some help to even the odds in this feud. Adam Cole (2-1) beat Jimmy Jacobs (0-2) via Florida Key. Cole ended a very solid match with the Florida Key, but was attacked and laid out after the bell by Steve Corino and a powerful "Old School Lariat". Jay Lethal and The Briscoe Brothers beat Roderick Strong and Sex And Violence when Lethal pinned Strong. This match served as a preview to the upcoming televised tag team title match between the Briscoe Brothers and Sex And Violence (Titus and Rhino). Lethal and Strong proved to be the difference makers though, as Lethal made a quick comeback on Roddy to hit the Lethal Injection for the pin.

ROH television Chicago Ridge taping, week 3 Shelton Benjamin (2-0) defeated Grizzly Redwood (2-2). Grizzly fought hard as always, but Shelton got the win via "Pay Dirt". Following the match Shelton laid down the gauntlet to his partner Charlie Haas. He said people are saying they've "lost it" and maybe they're not wrestling's greatest tag team any more. Shelton told Charlie he just showed that he's still got it, and challenged Charlie to do the same. Haas said he'd be glad to, and whatever punk ROH puts him in the ring with tonight is leaving on a stretcher. Jay Lethal(2/1dq-1)won by disqualification over Roderick Strong (2/1dq-2/1dq) Roderick worked over the back of Lethal, punishing him with several versions of the backbreaker. Lethal escaped an attempted Stronghold and came all the way back to hit Lethal Injection. The referee began his count, but Truth Martini pulled him to the floor by his leg to prompt the disqualification. After the match Strong seemed to be arguing with Truth on his way back down the aisle to the locker rooms. Kevin Kelly's "Inside Ring Of Honor" segment was used to hype the upcoming ROH/Chikara Synergy event. Matches already signed include Sara Del Rey versus MsChif in a match stemming from MsChif's actions against Saturyne two weeks ago, Synergy tag team champions The Briscoe Brothers versus Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw, and Synergy champion Eddie Kingston versus the ROH champion (whomever he may be on the day of the event). More matches, including a ROH/Chikara 'Rey de Voladores" 4-man match, will be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the event. Adam PAGE (1-1) defeated "Outlaw" Charlie Haas (0-2) NOOooooo. Well, Haas started off trying to bully Page, swiping his trucker's cap and tossing it to the crowd. Page responded with a hard forearm smash, pinpoint dropkick, and a rollup for the pin. After the match Haas attacked the winner and locked in Haas Of Pain, releasing the hold as Todd Sinclair threatened to report him to the office and recommend suspension. Haas shoved Sinclair away and took off as Shelton stood at ringside and shook his head in disbelief at the way Haas lost to the rookie. Davey Richards was interviewed in-ring about his upcoming ROH world title match. Predictably, it was interrupted by Kevin Steen and his SCUM co-horts. Steen told Davey it was sweet of him to offer to be Generico's shadow until the match, and asked if he's tying his shoes for him so he doesn't trip and helping him look both ways before he crosses the road, too. Steen warned that there is nothing Davey or Generico can do to stop Steen's inevitable return to the top of ROH when he regains the ROH world title. On cue, SCUM attacked. Davey's sometimes ally, sometimes rival Eddie Edwards rushed out alongside Adam Cole to even the sides and drive away SCUM. Mark and Jay Briscoe (2/1dq-0) won by countout over Sex And Violence (3-1/1dq) in a tag team title match. After roughly fifteen minutes of intense action Jay hit the spike Jay Driller on Rhett, but the pin was broken up by Rhino. The Briscoe Brothers double tackled Rhino, knocking him out of the ring, then Jay followed up by clotheslining Rhett over the top rope as well. Truth gathered his men, grabbed the tag team title belts off of the announcer's table, and had his men leave and take the intentional countout. Chants pertaining to large animal droppings, as well as about every fourth word out of Jay's mouth, had to be edited from television as the show went off the air.

ROH house show Cincinnati, OH Tommaso Ciampa (3-4) defeated Chris Silvio Ciampa got a needed win by using Project Ciampa to get the pin after overcoming some nice moves by Silvio. Kyle O'Reilly (3-2) beat Cedric Alexander (0-1) Alexander had the advantage several times in this match, but lacked the "putaway power" to finish. O'Reilly rallied and used his triple butterfly suplexes with a floatover at the end for the pin. TJ Perkins (2-2/1dq) pinned Nick Jackson (0-1) High flying and fast-paced action was expected and delivered as these guys spent almost as much time in the air as on the mat. TJP hit the Detonation Kick and picked up the victory. Eddie Edwards (3-2) pinned Mike Bennett (3-2/1dq) in quick fashion Bennett was off his game this time out. Edwards surprised him with a Chin Checker in the first minute of action and went for a pin. Brutal Bob didn't even have time to interfere as the ref counted the three to give Edwards the shocking win. Caprice Coleman (1-0) defeated Matt Jackson (0-1) Coleman sent the Young Bucks home winless in singles action by hitting a high knee strike in the corner and getting the pin in a competitive match. Davey Richards (5-0) won a wild match over Steve Corino (0-1) Jimmy Jacobs accompanied Corino to the ring and got involved early. That brought out Eddie Edwards to even the sides. Late in the match Jacobs distracted the ref and Corino pulled out a roll of coins for the loaded punch. Edwards jumped in and prevented it, allowing Richards to come back and lock in the ankle lock for the submission. Jacobs tried to get in to break it up, but was cut off by Edwards. After some post match brawling Corino challenged the Wolves to reunite one more time to face SCUM in a tag team match down the line. Sex And Violence (4/1dq-1/1dq) beat Jay Lethal and Adam Cole (2-2) to defend the ROH tag team championship. Truth Martini's pet project continued to yield results. Rhino hit the Gore on Lethal, but Cole broke up the pin. As the ref was distracted getting Cole out of the ring Rhett came in and hit a superkick on Lethal as he tried to stand up, leading to Rhino getting the pin. After the match a frustrated Jay Lethal told Cole that they had a decent run at trying to win the belts, but they came up short twice because of miscommunication. He said he thinks it's time to put this team to rest and the next time they meet up in the ring it should be one-on-one for the ROH championship. Cole agreed, the two shook hands, and they went their separate ways.

ROH television Manhattan Center, New York Matt Taven (1-1) beat AR Fox (0-1) in the first match of the Top Prospect Tournament. Taven won a good, competitive match after securing a magistral cradle for the pin. "Outlaw" Charlie Haas (1-2) demolished Grizzly Redwood (2-3) and won with Haas Of Pain. Haas was in a really bad mood coming off his televised embarrassing loss to Adam Page. He took out his frustration on Redwood with slams and suplexes on the floor before using the Haas Of Pain for the submission. After the match Haas's partner Shelton Benjamin told him he'd have to do more than beat up a guy half his size to make Shelton believe he hasn't lost a step in the ring. Haas was furious and challenged him to do better. Shelton agreed and made an open challenge for anyone in the locker room to come face him next week. After a few seconds Unbreakable Michael Elgin burst through the curtain as Truth Martini tried to talk him out of it. Shelton seemed a little hesitant, but Haas accepted the match on his partner's behalf. Elgin went nose to nose with Benjamin, Shelton had a few words for him, then walked away as Truth tried to convince WGTT that this wasn't his idea. Arik Royal (1-0) pinned Ethan Page (0-1) in a Top Prospects Tournament match. Page had his moments, but Royal controlled most of the match and got the pin with a crushing power bomb and folding pin. Inside Ring Of Honor featured Kyle O'Reilly, his problems with former friend Davey Richards, and the way he reached out to Richards' American Wolves partner Eddie Edwards to join him. Kevin Kelly detailed how Eddie came to the aide of Richards recently against SCUM and Edwards ignoring Kyle's offer of partnership. It was announced that the American Wolves would unite one more time next week to face SCUM in a special challenge match. In prerecorded comments Kyle called Eddie a gutless lapdog pretending to be a Wolf and predicted that Davey would just use him up and toss him aside again just like he did to Kyle. He said all Davey cares about is himself and he will be there next week to get a good close view of the demise of the American Wolves. Mark and Jay Briscoe beat Matt and Nick Jackson when Mark pinned Nick Jackson. Two of the premier tag teams in all of wrestling engaged in a full display of talent. The Young Bucks crahed and burned when Nick missed a 450 splash attempt on Jay. Jay made the tag and the Briscoe brothers laid out the younger Jackson brother with dual superkicks to the head for the "live by the superkick, die by the superkick" victory over the team that has made that move such a staple of their arsenal.

Great fed. NPWD sold me on both Royal and Page, so I'm hoping Royal continues to do well in the tournament.

I've already "taped" everything but the finals of the tournament (I play these tapings like ROH does them and I play out several weeks in a sitting), so I won't spoil the results for you, Chewey. I will probably use Royal here in the future regardless of what happens in the tournament, though. ROH television Manhattan Center, New York Adam Page (2-1) beat Ego Anthony (0-1) in a Top Prospects Tournament match. The upsets keep coming for Page, as he pulled off the comeback win over Anthony via his Standing Shooting Star Press. Anthony controlled the pace, but luck (dice) were on his side again. Willie Mack (1-0) defeated Shane Hollister (0-1) in a Top Prospects Tournament Match. The popular west coast standout finally got his ROH opportunity and made the most of it by putting away Hollister with the Chocolate Thunder Bomb. Inside Ring Of Honor provided several updates to the upcoming ROH/Chikara Synergy event. It was revealed that The Batiri have defeated Quackenbush and Jigsaw (in controversial fashion after the appearance of militANT) and will now replace them to challenge the Briscoe Brothers for the Synergy tag team championship. Also announced Ophidian defeated Frightmare in a qualifying match and will now join Fire Ant to represent Chikara in the Rey de Voladores match. ROH announced that they are sending Adam Cole and TJ Perkins as their representatives in that big match. A pre-taped interview with Jay Lethal was played where he told Keven Kelly that he's starting to feel overlooked lately and there's no telling what he may do and to what lengths he may go to get matchmaker Nigel McGuinness and the ROH office to start paying attention. Unbreakable Michael Elgin (3-2/1dq) beat Shelton Benjamin (2-1) in a special challenge match. Truth accompanied Elgin to the ring, but left after Elgin told him that if he didn't want him to take the challenge last week then he didn't belong in his corner this week. Benjamin started quick, but Elgin quickly shut him down as Charlie Haas actually heckled his own partner from ringside. Elgin proved he was the better man on this occassion with a convincing pinfall victory following the Elgin Bomb. Homicide entered the ring to talk about the ROH title picture. He said everyone should be paying attention to the (censored) creeping up in the background of that picture, getting ready to jack everyone and take whatever the (censored) he wants. That brought out Davey Richards, who reminded Homicide of how he earned the number one contender spot (by pinning Homicide at Final Battle 2012). El Generico entered the fray to speak for himself. In his hard to understand broken English with a few Spanish words thrown in for effect, what was clearly understood was the Generico wanted to face Homicide for the belt on next week's show, with the winner going on to face Davey in the next title match. Davey wasn't happy with the way Homicide just inserted himself in the title picture ahead of Davey, but noted that he beat him once and if Generico can't do it too he'll be glad to beat Homicide one more time for the ROH championship. SCUM (2-2/2dq) beat The American Wolves (0-2) when Corino pinned Edwards. The story of the match was the appearance at ringside of Kyle O'Reilly. Davey hit Jacobs with a dive through the ropes to the floor to keep him from breaking up a pin attempt. Corino kicked out anyway, and Eddie went for the Diehard. Kyle provided the key distraction at that point that allowed Steve Corino to come back and use the Old School Suplex on Eddie to get the pin. Kyle smirked and made his way back down the aisle as Eddie and Davey argued on the floor about what had taken place, and SCUM celebrated the win inside the ring.

ROH television Manhattan Center Matt Taven (2-1) defeated Arik Royal (1-1) in a Top Prospects tournament match. Royal looked impressive, but Taven would not quit and picked up the win following his frog splash. Truth Martini brought out his tag team champions Rhett Titus and Rhino, Sex And Violence to talk about their upcoming tag team title defense against The Briscoe Brothers. Truth said Nigel had a problem with the way they kept the belts the last time they faced the Briscoe Brothers, so he's saying that if they get disqualified of counted out again they lose the belts anyway. Truth promised that wouldn't happen and warned that Mark and Jay got lucky once, but their luck is about to run out. He was getting ready to lead his men out of the ring when Michael Elgin and Roderick Strong confronted him. Strong said Truth has been putting all of his focus on Titus and Rhino and ignoring their careers so it may be time for them to do something about it. Elgin added that he tried to make his own breaks when he challenged Shelton and instead of encouraging him Truth tried to stop him. Rhino and Rhett got in Elgin and Strong's faces, but Truth separated them and told everyone to go to the back so they could talk about it in private. Willie Mack (2-0) pinned Adam Page (2-2) in a Top Prospects tournament match. The finals are now set, as Mack kicked out of Page's Standing SSP and went on to hit the MDX for the victory. It will be Taven versus Willie Mack at the upcoming supercard to determine the ROH Top Prospect winner. El Generico (4/1 dq- 1) beat Homicide (3-2) to defend the ROH championship. With Davey Richards at the commentary position and Kevin Steen watching from the entrance, Generico and Homicide engaged in a very worthy ROH title match. Homicide did everything in his power to try to upset Generico going into the supercard, but it was not enough. Generico went for the Brainbustaaah but Homicide knocked him off the buckle. Homicide picked up El Generico but Generico surprised him and scooped him right up into a spike brainbuster for the pin. Steen walked away without incident as Davey and Generico had a staredown in the middle of the ring to end the show.
