Latest News:
Big title switch took place as Rising Sun quickly drops the Heavyweight belt to Thunder. The Gladiators have reacted to their difficult 2110 by coming back strong. Brute is set to start using gang attacks when and wherever possible to keep the belt on Thunder. One wonders if there might be some kind of revenge taken by the team against Splatter or the Hitmen? Splatter’s ill advised lottery attack on Thunder was stopped in its tracks by Brute. Krakan would have been tearing his hair out if he had any. The last thing he wants is to be making enemies of the Gladiators. Now they have a major belt the Gladiators could not care less about losing the Centra belt (or whatever it’s now being called). Spike doesn’t say much nowadays but broke silence to refer to it as worthless trash.
It doesn’t stop there with the Gladiators as they now bid to win another belt. Despite a questionable ranking caused by just losing to the Ravagers it has not stopped Malice and Overkill challenging Twin Blood in a bid to stop them breaking the record reign of Brute and Massacre that has stood since 2090 which is 64 cards. There was no ducking the challenge from Twin Blood as the threat of attacks on members of the Rocketmen existed if they didn’t agree. The only sticking point was whether Commissioner Morpheus and the championship committee agreed. Morpheus liked the idea of the match and despite some initial resistance brought the other committee members round to his way of thinking. So the match will happen on #1167 which is the exact card number that the record will be broken should Twin Blood successfully defend. A regular match is currently booked but special match rules could yet be added. Who knows. Maybe if the Gladiators win the Ravagers might get a very early title shot. Having just beaten the Gladiators there might be a case for it. Only thing going against them is some of the iffy results they’ve had. This was their first win on TV since their debut.
The Fighting Titans have a chance to repair some of the damage of Rising Sun losing the Heavyweight belt. Ursa Major is making waves on the singles scene. Getting lots of glowing statements and his win against Prodigy pushed him well up the rankings ladder to earn a shot at the newly named Centra belt (read more on this story further down). He and Scion Nexus had engaged in a friendly rivalry to see which one of them could go furthest in their little singles runs. Obviously this goes way beyond expectations. However it’s not uncharted territory for Ursa Major. Around a decade ago he had another decent singles push and pulled off one of the biggest upsets of all time to win what was then known as the Interplanetary belt from Vengeance. He even successfully defended it a couple of times before dropping it back to him. Ursa Major never thought he’d reach such heights again. Naturally he’ll be the big underdog but that didn’t stop him back then.
As previously mentioned the Centra belt has been rebranded to the Colonizer belt by Mandrill in a move to really get under everyone’s skin. He has even had a new one made for Painmaster to wear. The fate of the original belt is unknown. What’s frustrating is that Commissioner Morpheus was the bearer of the bad news and has allowed it to happen. His eye is on the cash such a storyline can generate as the ROC will be stepping up efforts to save the belt and restore its former name. Of course they will have to wait in line behind Ursa Major. Maybe if he can win it back then will be receptive to it being switched back.
Murdok’s first foray into a wrestling ring ended in an expected victory. Son of Ram was not expected to put up much opposition and was dutifully dealt with. Stiffer tests await. Only those in attendance would have seen it as it was a dark match. Although I am sure fan footage will find its way online before long. Everyone gave Murdok a wide berth at the card. He disappeared pretty quickly after the match. One wonders whether it was to return to Antilia. Just where does a guy like this go? Maybe he returns to his tomb and awakens periodically or perhaps he is now in a permanent state of consciousness. Also what will be the domino effect of coming out of this slumber? Perhaps more sinister historical figures could soon rise. All questions that will be answered in time.
Surely Disorder X cannot last much longer especially after they contested a violent Falls County Anywhere match with each other which Mace ended up winning. Even Thantos is getting fed up and goes so far as to name and shame the duo for Team CPC’s difficult atmosphere.
Mike Fortune gets suspended 2 cards for assaulting a referee. Commissioner Morpheus makes it clear that any violence towards GWFC staff will not be tolerated.
CLASH ON CENTRA is the next big event coming end of next month. I won’t share much info purely because I haven’t given loads of thought. Maybe see how the preceding shows progress. All I really know is that Thunder will make his first Heavyweight belt defence against the Code Enforcer which should be good. Expect a Circinus Cell match too as I don’t recall rolling one of those for a while.
BREAKING NEWS … After a period of discussion Corporal Aegis has agreed to let the charismatic and mystical Phantast manage/assist the ROC on a month by month basis. There were some trust barriers which needed working out but Aegis recognises the ROC needs some help to try and swing the feud with the Colonizers in their favour as well as dealing with the threat of Murdok. The first card Phantast will appear ringside at will be #1167. Max Shield and Warfare are set to team up to face Mandrill and Wraith. As if that wasn’t enough Massif has been drafted in to officiate. There will be lots of big personalities in that ring and fireworks are expected. Phantast’s ringside appearances won’t be a regular thing though and his moments will be picked carefully. Think of him more as a special attraction.
INJURED – none; SUSPENDED – Mike Fortune (2)
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
THUNDER - He has already accomplished so much in the GWF/GWFC and now adds the big one to realise that potential. Is still relatively young and has bucket loads of ability. Could easily become one of the greats. It will be interesting to see how this first reign pans out. Plans are already in place to try and ensure it lasts a long time.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
THE RAVAGERS - Any win over the Gladiators deserves credit. However it was also the manner of the victory attained. They looked ultra impressive and like they have got the hang of wrestling. It’s easy to forget they are not trained wrestlers and it takes time to click.
