CARD 941 – PELF PALACE:
Whilst no GWF belts are up for grabs this month the CPC makes sure it’s own titles are in the public eye with most of them being defended. Many hardened fans commend the CPC for keeping the show rolling in respect of this important part of wrestling. One old guy, Chaz, who has followed wrestling right from classics era is at the Palace and gets interviewed “that was the last straw for me. The GWF has done too many questionable things. It’s not about tournaments. It’s about winning belts and settling feuds. This is where the action is for me and my hard earned money will be going on buying tickets to CPC shows from now on” … In addition the Champions are at the Palace in full force to get back at the CPC for Magnus Colby’s inappropriate behaviour towards Supernova. Colby invites Star Warrior ahead of the first match with promise of a big surprise. Star Warrior obliges and stands on a podium beneath the gallery. Calls out “go on hit me with it”. On the big screen Colby arranges for a doctored photo of Supernova where she is wearing next to nothing. It’s after the local watershed so can get away with it. Star Warrior is so angry on seeing this that he tries to go up to the gallery and get to Colby. He gets beaten in the stairwell by CPC thugs and hospitalised. Splatter has a new title as ‘Head of Security’ and led the beating. They had tried to abduct him but some of the security felt this was going too far so they just slung him out in the waste disposal area of the Palace from where he was rescued. Amid the commotion Commander Sam steps up to be at ringside with the Champions in Star Warrior’s absence. Always willing to be ‘in the trenches’. The fate of Star Warrior remained unknown. Some reports of serious injuries. Even going so far as to say they are life threatening but that’s Chinese whispers for you. But what is clear is he took a hell of a beating.
Chaos again destroys Paragon but this time it’s to win the CPC Heavyweight belt. Paragon has been getting his excuses ready claiming the Wolf wildman attack did actually injure him so if Chaos wins tonight it won’t be anything to brag about. Of course Chaos is unimpressed “Paragon is like the little boy who keeps crying Wolf. Nobody will believe him before long”. Chaos is also more motivated than ever after the rude shock of losing the GWF belt to Wolf. If he fails here then he’s right out of the title picture in both feds. With the emerging status of the CPC title it’s something he’d love get ticked off on his checklist of things to win. After all the usual overblown entrances it finally began. The way Paragon starts suggests it might be their closest battle yet. A few minutes in a beautiful Whirlybird Backbreaker has Chaos scrambling from the ring for a break. Perhaps Paragon should of waited it out but he followed. Chaos was ready for him and slammed him into the floor. Tables turned just like that. Chaos then directs traffic back to the ring and starts the run of applying BOW OF DEFEAT. On only the second one a snake eyes roll and means Chaos has won. There is total silence from the gallery. Chaos lords it up with the title in front of them. In a fit of a rage Paragon recovers and knees Chaos down from behind. The belt goes loose and he grabs it to use as a weapon on Chaos. Then applies FINAL OVERTURE before throwing the belt on the downed Chaos and leaving. Neither he nor Thantos say a word. Chaos took a 2 card injury from this but it’s not enough to handicap for OTB or BOG or whatever you want to call it. The storm brews in the aftermath. Chaos arrogantly proclaims “he tried but failed to injure me. My superiority is confirmed. From this day forth I am the greatest wrestler across all dimensions”. Paragon breaks silence “he’s a champion only in his mind. I am still not fully fit and when I am there is no way Chaos can beat me. The belt will be mine again very soon” Clearly Paragon still thinks he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread or at least that’s his public facade. But those closest to Paragon are having to tippy toe round him. He is in a permanent foul mood over his continued failures to match up to Chaos.
Transevolver defeated CPC Rising to become CPC Tag champs again. Questionable rankings at play again. CPC keeps it in house by announcing Transevolver as top contenders on the back of a solitary win. Feuds among CPC members are not out of the question it would appear as Doomsayer is generating heat. Says of Janus that he is a slacker on the verge of being kicked off the Penthouse Suite. Janus has been on the edge ever since Paragon’s arrival and blows pretty spectacularly when he sees Doomsayer. Using his helmet as a weapon to try and batter his exo-skeleton. Monad and Dreadnaught quickly cut him off and prevent their manager getting hurt. Janus has to forget Doomsayer and focus on the match. Thantos nods approvingly and then turns to Doomsayer saying “finally showing some heart”. Doomsayer is below Thantos on the pecking order and doesn’t react. Just wisely gives him a nod back. Then turns attention onto guiding his guys inwardly hoping Janus won’t come after him again. A brawl starts the match off which CPC Rising gets the better of. The Matador wrestles smart and pitches Monad into the hard mahogany table but made it look self inflicted. Otherwise a certain DQ. Becomes very entertaining. Monad has most of the ring time and nearly went down to GORDION KNOT but Dreadnaught broke him out. Both Janus and the Matador take turns on him trying to use his poor pin rating to their advantage. Suddenly Janus makes an error which gives Monad some offence. He can be very hard to stop once he gets to L2O. So it proves and he managed to Janus in SURFBOARD SUBMISSION. Janus does his best to withstand but he’s locked in good and proper. After about a minute still stuck in the hold he has to admit defeat and submits. Transevolver surprising champs seeing as they are no longer the favoured tag team of the CPC. Wonder if Janus and the Matador will see this as a chance to get back on the singles trail. Should Paragon falter against Chaos again they’ll have a case.
CPC Interstellar champ, Dark Justice, survives against Bishop Hell with a DQ win. Justice has done well to emerge from grisly feuds with Wolf and Draconian Sheik to reach this point in the year holding what is now a significant belt. But he knows still has to be careful as the likes of Drac could easily strike again at any moment. Speak of the devil Drac is floating about with the Terrorists at the behest of Bishop Hell. He had met with the Terrorists and asked them to be visible in the crowd to conjure fear but not to interfere as that would increase the change of a disqualification. He’s always walking a DQ tightrope as it is. It’s surprising that they agreed but maybe money changed hands. Keeping Drac under control would be difficult but he seems all occupied gazing at the incredible chandelier in the Palace arena ceiling. Justice does indeed see them and ensures that the Mercenaries, mercifully allowed to be at ringside, are fully guarded. They will be relieved not to be called into action. The Bishop trips himself up. After absorbing a strong opening from Justice he is in control. But he thinks that just because he is at the Palace he can get away with HELLFIRE right under the referee’s nose. With the CPC trying to be a credible fed and succeeding in its growing status the officials are under instruction to be a little less bias when faced with blatant wrongdoings. Bishop Hell sinks to his knees as he is administered a disqualification. He shoots the gallery a stare but then quickly averts his gaze when Thantos puts a finger over his lips in a hushing manner. Dark Justice didn’t around. He could see the Terrorists were moving closer to the from of the crowd. Quickly heads down the runway like some kind of VIP with the Mercenaries flanking him like bodyguards.
The Champions beat Splatter, Mad Jester and Dynamo in a best of 3. As mentioned earlier Commander Sam is with the Champions team to try and help protect them and keep morale going. Everyone is understandably concerned for Star Warrior but Sam assures he is here in spirit. But time to be professional and do a job. It is an immediate chance to get revenge on Splatter, who did most of the damage in the attack, after all. Originally this was supposed to be against the Outsiders until Bishop Hell got pulled from the line up and replaced by Dynamo. The Bishop joyfully proclaimed “as much as I would love to burn the faces of those scummy Champions I am destined for greater things”. Naturally Splatter and Mad Jester wreak havoc throughout but in truth the CPC trio is hopelessly outmatched. Colussus enjoys his time in the spotlight for once and wipes the floor with Jester to win the first fall via CYBORG DEATHBLOW. The measure of superiority left Jester to be a liability for the remaining fall(s) as he had so many tokens. Luckily he was able to remove himself from the next fall which was largely dominated with a decent battle between Pegasus and Splatter. Seemed like Pegasus would win this easily as he used PROJECT PEGASUS pretty quickly but a pin save from Dynamo turned it around. After that Splatter goes pretty even against him. However Dynamo hadn’t seen any ring time and came into it. Rather than try to win he just wants to inflict injury which he was not successful in doing. An attempt to bludgeon Pegasus with a dumbbell misses and he ends up not only being disqualified but putting a hole in the expensive canvas. As always any damage to the CPC ring area causes palpitations to Sonora Pelf. The Champions sweep it 2-0 and now there is a big delay for the next bout as the ring gets patched up.
Prodigy beats Lycosa in a Zero Gravity Platform match to reclaim the CPC Cruiserweight belt. Lycosa up against it as Prodigy will stop at nothing to get his belt back off him and the CPC is going to keep giving him chances until it happens. He hopes the match conditions become a leveller. Or else he’d of had to contend with not just Prodigy but Thantos. Darkos is not usually much good when close to Thantos. Still seeing him as a superior villain type character not to be crossed. Anyway it’s the dazzling contest expected of two such agile guys with some truly mind boggling moves to oust each other and also save themselves. The finish is dramatic as Lycosa was trying put Prodigy out of the ring by propelling himself off the ropes for a clothesline. Prodigy ducks and flips Lycosa out instead. Lycosa seems to go a long way out. The match had gone so long by this point and Lycosa ran out of gas unable to fight against the weightlessness. Prodigy gets his belt back but can count himself lucky as he had double the amount of tokens, 8 to 4. To prevent these matches going on forever I have implemented house rule that reaching 10 leaves someone too weak to resist being thrown out and floating away.
CPC Ladies champ, Supernova, overcame personal demons to beat Cassandra by DQ. Supernova looks tense. Understandable given the rumours about her and Colby plus what has happened to Star Warrior. On the carpeted runway down she stops on seeing Colby in the gallery and tried to suddenly turn back. Alpha Force has to come out and convince her to go through with the match despite the tears. It’s a great opportunity for Cassandra. She couldn’t of imagined being thrust into the spotlight again but her win over Ms. Liberty last month impressed a lot of people. Normally she’d be big underdog but Supernova’s psychological state makes her vulnerable. Cassandra goes for the jugular but Supernova is to be commended for getting on with the task at hand. Puts Cassandra under enough pressure so as to force her outside and cause her own downfall by getting disqualified. It’s a soul destroying outcome for Cassandra. Surely she’ll never get a better chance of glory than that.
Karah gets beaten about by Heracles but emerges as winner by DQ. Heracles unimpressed with Karah’s high energy and vine swinging routine. Karah managed to hook some to the Palace ceiling for a spectacular entrance. They unravel just before his announcement much to the confusion of the likes of Colby and Pelf in the gallery. How did he set that up? Heracles scolds Karah “show some respect to your elders and wrestle normally little boy”. Karah is in no mood for being talked down to and uses a vine to try and come in with an assisted dropkick. But Heracles powerfully brushes his legs away. As the vine comes back towards the ring Karah jumps off early with a cross body but just gets caught. Heracles holds him with an arm raised before delivering a running powerslam that actually shook the chandelier above. Mollock is with Karah watching all this and agitated but Terak keeps him under control. The CPC has allowed Mollock back into the Palace but under strict instruction to behave. So it means Terak and Mollock are pretty powerless as they daren’t move a muscle. All they can do is watch as Heracles destroys Karah. He battered Karah with OLYMPIA twice but kept pulling him up by the hair breaking the pin attempts. Intent on punishing Karah. The ref took sympathy on Karah and scolds Heracles for the behaviour whereupon he gets a hefty shove. It means a DQ which annoys Heracles. Heracles shouts up at the gallery towards Colby, Pelf and Grogan demanding they change the decision of the corrupt official but is just met with silence. Prompts him to stomp off like a petulant child. On his way also giving Mollock a shove and trying to provoke a reaction but this failed too.
Wildcat quickly disposed of Brainstorm. Too easy. Wildcat only needs about a minute. Predator Pounce provides the finish.

CARD 942 – BADGE OF GLORY (Hardcore) – MIZAR SOLARSPHERE:
(Previous winner - Buck Steele/Genocide)
There were some interesting picks for the bracket. Max Shield the most obvious one as he falls below Wraith who goes into the singles bracket. Max is happy for Wraith and looking forward to a different challenge. Shocking to see no Draconian Sheik in a hardcore bracket but he suffered surprise losses putting him out the running. Not that Drac probably even realises. That aside this was another badly thought through process as there is no Hardcore belt to cash in a title shot on for the eventual winner Vyper. The GWF try to appease him with a shot at the IP belt but he says winning the Hardcore bracket is a step above that level and demands a chance to win the Heavyweight belt instead. The championship committee relents and says this should be ok.
Added Attraction, Wraith beats Mandrill by DQ in a non-title match. A possible appetiser for the tournament. They are on a collision course should the first round matches get negotiated successfully. Wraith is the biggest threat to Mandrill from the Genesis team these days. Rising above Max Shield as their top guy after a hugely successful transition to singles action. So Mandrill is very motivated to beat him here and possibly again later in the month. The usual suspects are in position. Sentry on one side and Vertigo the other. Highly unlikely they would keep themselves to themselves. Some wrestlers have recently gone to great lengths to make Wraith’s invisibility powers less effective but Mandrill has on interest in that. Preferring to show superiority by beating all Genesis members with their mutant powers fully functioning. Becomes quite an epic battle with Wraith mostly showing he is more than a match for Mandrill. Although his token count steadily creeps and as it ticks past 10 minutes it looks as if Mandrill will ultimately prevail. That is until a brawl breaks out and both Mandrill and Sentry gang up on Wraith. Vertigo zips in to ensure things get evened up. The brawl breaks off after a couple minutes and the verdict is Mandrill was disqualified. Mandrill kind of threw that away. Had the match in the palm of his hand but wanted to dish more punishment. Sometimes wrestlers just get carried away.
First Round:
Vyper crushed Blazing Skull. Vyper riding a hot streak coming into this but well aware getting into a cage with Blazing Skull is one of the most dangerous things anyone can do. The risk of that skullcap coming loose always exists. We haven’t had an explosion since that fateful period when Crossfire perished and Archon got burned soon after but if it happens again being inside a cage is one of the worst places to be. Vyper brushes off the fear “he’s more fearful of snakes than I’ll ever be of his exploding head”. Supreme confidence indeed and very much exemplified once inside the cage. Vyper’s incredible run continues as he beats Blazing Skull with barely a mark on him. Delivers VYPER’S SIDESHOW not once but twice on the way to victory.
Dark Justice survives a bombardment to eliminate Max Shield. Rather than brood over missing the singles bracket Max embraces the challenge of winning the cage tournament. Jokingly telling Qualitar “maybe it’s time for Mad Max again”. It immediately looks an uphill task though. On entering the cage Justice opens his long coat to reveal the rod. No confiscation this time. He places it neatly in the corner and can only imagine it’s usage is inevitable. Max doesn’t let it worry him. Just goes for it. Justice cannot hold him off and is subjected to MAXIMUM IMPACT four times but draw shock as he survives every one of them whether it be by kicking out or dragging Max back into the cage. Then out of nowhere turns the match on its head and after nailing Max with a Hitman’s Clothesline makes his own attempt at an escape. Grabbing his rod along the way. Chooses the door as his mode of exit. Max makes a desperate dash to stop him but Justice made a backward motion with his rod. It goes straight into the gut of the advancing Max sending him into a crumpling heap. Justice is able to casually climb through the door and advances to the next round. But surely being on the end of all that earlier punishment would take its toll.
Malice wins a classic over Wolf. It’s been a very long time since Wolf last won the hardcore bracket back in 2099. It brought an end to a 3 year winning streak but nobody would of believed back then that he wouldn’t come close to winning it again. He would dearly love to this year and end the drought. Given his recent form he is the hot favourite but facing an improving Malice represented a huge obstacle. In the longest match yet they have an all out war. Wolf flew out the blocks but then comes under some heavy fire once Malice settled. Wolf did fantastically to survive a ferocious beating that included FIELDS OF MALICE (+4) twice. The finisher adapted perfectly for the cage. Malice put so much into it and was dismayed that Wolf was not letting him out the cage even after that. Wondering what more he needed to do. It set the scene for one of those classic Wolf comebacks but sadly doesn’t quite happen. Although Wolf was doing some cool stuff including some cage shuddering face smashes and Skullcrushers he couldn’t get the claw on. At one time he whipped Malice into the ropes poised for it. The crowd expects but Malice grabbed the top rope with both hands and just about got the brakes on. He was inches from going in the hold. The near death experience galvanises Malice for a second big wave. His feared FIELDS OF MALICE happens again. Given the full +4 treatment once more and this time there was no coming back for Wolf. The champ is beaten and must go another year without hands on the Hardcore trophy. Malice doesn’t bask in the win. He’s been in a hell of a fight and stumbles away. Will be hard pushed to advance past the next round unless his prospective opponent comes to the cage in a similar savaged state.
Painmaster destroyed Mayhem, it was total annihilation. Mayhem has never been the type of guy to worry about what others think but surely he must know deep down that he has underperformed for WAR. On the losing end of most battles related to the feud with the Gladiators. Could he do something here in his favourite match type and for it to become a catalyst to better things? The carrot of a second round match with Malice is also dangling. But Painmaster is not about to rollover. Piles into Mayhem straight away and doesn’t give him any time to breathe. Mayhem has 4 tokens on him before finally waking up. Fully expected once on offence to takeover only to go and miss LEAP OF DOOM. Impetus handed back to Painmaster and this time no coming back for Mayhem. Some fleeting offence from him easily snuffed out. Painmaster uses a Colonizer Claw Grip to finally end Mayhem’s misery. Pretty shocking at how one-sided it was. Everyone had assumed a next round meeting of Wolf and Mayhem but instead we’ve got Painmaster against Malice.
Second Round:
Vyper untroubled against Dark Justice. Big chance for Vyper as Justice is heavily fatigued. He still has to withstand an early barrage. Then after biding his time steps it up. Justice is just too tired to stand up to it. Vyper grabs Justice by the neck and walks him around the cage to plant his face into every single side. Being a bit of a showman Vyper interacts with the crowd. Points to the door with eyebrows raised. That gets a cheer but when he then points to the top that gets an even louder response. He indulges their choice and starts scaling the cage. Justice doesn’t know where he is. Gets on his feet but staggered drunkenly around shadow boxing. Vyper is halfway down the other side when Justice gets some kind of sense back. Reaches through the bars but Vyper just bites him on the wrist forcing a release. He is then able to jump unhindered the last few feet onto the floor. He’s got all the way to the final with barely a mark on him. Surprising that Justice never had his rod confiscated but across two cage matches he didn’t really use it. Maybe he is not motivated to use it if there is no risk involved although can be argued he wasn’t really given much opportunity.
Painmaster is in unstoppable form again as he crushed Malice. Poor Malice doesn’t look too clever. Beating Wolf took so much out of him. Painmaster on the other hand is in great shape after his dismantling of Mayhem. But the young Gladiator isn’t about to pace himself. Not his style and it’s a massive opportunity. With all the big guns eliminated the chance of winning is a very realistic one. It would actually be his second triumph in 3 years if he can pull it off having won in his debut year. That was before all the problems started. He’s been slowly getting back to those heady days with steady improvement after a nightmarish 2105 and start to this year. Once again Painmaster looks to upset the apple cart. The way he destroyed Mayhem has given him a new found respect. He carries that confidence into this and in much the same vein as before goes after Malice early. Two quick escape attempts are foiled but Painmaster is unmoved. Keeps dishing it out with Malice just too slow because of his fatigue to do too much about it. Painmaster decides it’s time for THE TORTURE RACK. An enormous effort to get Malice up there but once he does the agony inflicted is intolerable. The weight of such a big man works against them in a move like this. Painmaster keeps him up in it as long as he can hold it before clumsily throwing Malice off. He rushes for the door but needn’t of hurried for Malice was barely able to move after that. Another big upset.
Final:
Vyper wins the bracket as he comfortably beats Painmaster. Neither has suffered any real trauma on their way to the final. Not a single token between them. Big surprise when considering the big names that have fallen. Vyper makes sure he’s out first and repeats a trick used in the past. He enters the cage and empties a bag of snakes. Four of them slither towards each side and coil themselves around the bars. The organisers think it’s great entertainment and let’s the stunt happen. Naturally Painmaster on seeing this goes nuts. At first refusing to enter the cage but when the crowd gets on his back for being gutless he eventually clambers through the door. A fifth snake now slithers out the bag. It’s Zelda and Vyper pushes her towards the door. That’s every exit point covered now. Would Painmaster be brave enough to try and go past one of them if he is in a position to win? It never become a factor though as Vyper gets the better of him quite easily. Perhaps the fear did get to Painmaster as Vyper is never really troubled and doesn’t take all that long to win with VYPER’S SIDESHOW. Chooses the door as his exit method and grabs Zelda along the way. He was tempted to leave the snakes there a while longer and see if Painmaster could bring himself to go past them or else spend all night trapped in the cage. But Vyper was concerned for their welfare. He gradually rounds them up before accepting his trophy as the first ever BOG winner. But how and where does he cash in his promised title shot?

CARD 943 – BADGE OF GLORY (Tag) – MIZAR SOLARSPHERE:
(Previous winners - X-Termination)
CPC Rising spurns their invitation to compete. They are pretty numb at losing their belts and finding tag teaming a bit of a chore. Considering it all beneath them. But the CPC cannot resist a shot at the tournament so they send Transevolver instead. That upsets a few established GWF tag teams that didn’t make it in even though they are ranked higher. The most ticked off were the holders X-Termination. Johnny Rocket makes plenty of noise about that but the fact is they haven’t done enough this year to make the cut. Not wrestling many matches for a long time and posting a shaky 3-3 record plus 1 DDQ. The matches they did win weren’t against high calibre teams either. In a rare online post Solaris reacts to the last in a long line of Rocket rants that suggested holders should of qualified automatically by stating “that won’t work, this a rebrand. There are no holders”. Rocket had to have the last word “senile old pr*ck”.
Added Attraction, Terminus has the measure of Wolf in a Cygnus Brass Knuckles match, non-title. The seventh match in the series. The matches getting progressively more violent. Wolf lost their last meeting but still leads healthily and of course the incredible success of beating Chaos and winning the Heavyweight belt has happened since then. Plus he’s fully healed up now. So on paper not sounding too good for Terminus. But he will take heart from the fact Wolf has also lost to Malice. So maybe he is not as confident as he might’ve been. This is a rarely used match. Many of the fans may not even of seen one so there is plenty of curiousity. It’s the usual eruption of noise when Wolf comes. The die hard fans love him and maybe he can bring back any defectors from the CPC crowds. He is the main hope of the GWF to be able to do this more than anyone else. Suffers a torrid start though. Terminus uses more fist related moves in his repertoire which favours the knuckles. What with this and using his finisher a few times Wolf was struggling. However you can’t keep Wolf down forever. He rallies back and it is getting very tough to call. However just as it looks like one is ready to drop Wolf goes to the top rope and fatally misses a deathjump. Terminus then nails HAMMERLOCK SLAM for good measure to seal the win. That’s two in a row and now only 4-3 down but rumour is Terminus is not too excited for the matches ahead. All ones that usually result in injuries.
First Round:
Thunder and Overkill survive a huge scare to beat the Centaurians. The Gladiators have never won this tournament if that can be believed. The only time there was a triumph was through Deadly Challenge but they aren’t considered an official tag team of Aethra as it was Bounty Hunter inside the costume. Neither the legendary Brute and Massacre nor the new breed of Thunder and Overkill has managed it. No better time to start than now. However they struggle badly to begin. Overkill is pretty sluggish and tastes SWITCHBLADE KICK and also AMULET DROP in short order. Maybe he could of kicked out on his own from these but Thunder was taking no chances and broke up the pins. With that scare over the Gladiators get control and it’s assumed they will now destroy the Centaurians. Indeed Talisman gets a real going over but he rudely kicked out after DECAPITATOR. The annoyed Gladiators rough him up some more and do it again. Only this time Blade storms in and comes down on Thunder with a leg drop on the head whilst covering. Would he live to regret that? It allowed Talisman to get the hot tag but Blade is punished by Thunder with THE TEMPEST. Talisman recovers enough to return the favour and save his partner but with both teams now all out of pin saves it’s balanced precariously. Next big move should win it. Sadly for the heroic Centaurians it comes from Thunder. Again THE TEMPEST on Blade. Poor Blade comatose after that hard hit and the Gladiators move on. But full credit to the Centaurians as they had fought with great spirit.
Lower World goes past Titan Fury. Time is running out for Titan Fury. They haven’t got many more of these left in them with Dragonmaster’s retirement set for end of 2107. Could they have one last good run in this tournament which they still adoringly refer to as OTB despite the rebranding? It’s a trophy that has eluded them but DM does have experience of winning it as part of Titan Express way back in 2093. It was only the second ever staging. But no time for nostalgia especially with the dangerous and unpredictable Lower World to contend with. Unfortunately Death’s Head and Erebus prey upon DM and he gets struck with FUNERAL MARCH x3 and also SKULLWORKS. But DM proves there’s life in the old dog yet. Admirably holding on and getting the tag. Rising Sun swings the match and they go for DAY OF THE DRAGON on Erebus. But when the pin is broken up DM found himself marooned in the ring again. This time he is unable to fend them off. Death’s Head deploys FUNERAL MARCH again and the Titan dream is over. Maybe, just maybe they’ll have one last shot at it again in 2107. They’d be outsiders but what a story it’d be for them to win. One bold fan has already placed his bet at odds of 500-1. The bookie involved isn’t worried and doesn’t even think Titan Fury will be in next years tournament.
Rebel Empire finally gets the better of Frozen Fury. What a draw. One of the hottest feuds around gets a stage in this tournament. Rebel Empire got blown away when they last met in a cage match with the tag titles on the line. They were hungry for revenge. Last time they made a big mistake of focusing too much on Buck Steele and the potential of Genocide. Totally ignoring how improved Blizzard is. He managed to hurt them. Nefarus brags they are ready and won’t make the same mistake twice. Although he does cause them some early grief with FROSTBITE on Vendetta. But they ride it out and manage to cut Buck Steele off in the ring. Remarkably he doesn’t transform into Genocide despite taking SCISSORDRIVER, THE BIG FALL and EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT in 3 consecutive moves. The last of which put him down for good. Nefarus nervously considered him and despite a couple of twitches from Buck’s body suggesting something could happen the pin gets completed.
New Order have to be bang on their game to see off Assassin Air Raid. The Assassins might be one of the hottest teams around. In great form and mega exciting to watch. They maybe villains but they actually have quite a decent following. But they are still underdogs here. New Order started their GWF careers quite slowly in terms of success but in last couple of years have achieved great things. Although their only tournament success was posted back in their early days (2095). Dreggs remembers that night of glory and is keen to taste it again. It becomes a thrilling bout. Virtually every single finisher is tried unsuccessfully at least once. Just a shame that one of these great teams would have to exit early. Ends up being Assassin Air Raid as Lycosa submitted to TWIST AND SHOUT. That was a rollercoaster ride that positively flashed by.
Second Round:
Thunder and Overkill battered Lower World. A hardcore enthusiast’s dream. Probably two of the most volatile teams on the roster. It’s not clear what goes through the head of Erebus or whether he has much rational thought but the sight of Overkill has an effect. Erebus seems hesitant. Dare we even say afraid. It’s a common trait he shares with many if that is the case. Death’s Head evokes opposite emotions. Licking his lips at the prospect of taking on the Gladiators. He knows the eerie population of Brymstone will be going mad for this. The Gladiators are very popular there and of course they will be behind their own kind too. It’s a win-win situation for them. Reports of a higher than usual amount of explosions throughout the day there supports that assertion. Brymstonians like to show their excitement with increased acts of violence. It’s not a pretty match as expected. Lower World resort to regular double teaming to cope with Overkill but that pretty much freed up Thunder. Ignore him at your peril. He wades in and incapacitates Erebus with a ferocious offensive burst that included THE TEMPEST. Death’s Head mostly in his own after that. Did well to hit FUNERAL MARCH on Thunder a couple of times but only a matter of time before he would be overwhelmed. Thunder manages to get him on his knees and then feeds him to Overkill. The imposing Gladiator steps in and squashes Death’s Head with TURNBUCKLE TRAP to send them into the final. The prospect of a possible meeting with New Order is a mouth watering one.
Rebel Empire stomp all over New Order. Two tag team title pretenders face off. Both frustrated at a lack of recent success and see this event as a pathway. New Order mainly because Raven has decided WAR members forget about chasing titles during their conflict with the Gladiators. But if they could earn one through this route then surely he cannot stand in their way. Especially as it would mean they’d beaten the Gladiators who are waiting in the final. Would be tough for them. They’ll need to manage the match so that Dreggs can recover as much as possible. He was responsible for his teams win over Assassin Air Raid but took most of the punishment. Mace tries to carry the team. It turns out that Dreggs must of been more hurt than originally thought as he barely assists. Mace didn’t fare too well. Quickly on the back foot against Vendetta and forced to kickout after EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT. An impressive feat but still looking like a sitting duck. Nefarus is clever enough to keep right on with the big moves. Shortly after trying SCISSORDRIVER. Dreggs makes a pathetic attempt to stumble through the ropes and help his partner. He is so slow and as soon as he got his head up was wiped out by a clothesline from Vendetta. Meanwhile Nefarus is hooking the leg on Mace for what amounted to a pretty easy win overall. Nefarus sticks his face in a camera and warns Frozen Fury “you thought you would be able to avoid us but when we win this tournament you’ll be forced into the ring with us. This time we will take your titles from you. Enjoy them whilst you’ve still got them”. Maybe he should be thinking of the Gladiators instead of Frozen Fury.
Final:
Rebel Empire edges it against Thunder and Overkill to win the tournament. It wasn’t quite the final everyone wanted but the Gladiators against Rebel Empire still pretty tasty. Tough paths trodden by both teams to get this far. One last promo from each side before heading out. Nefarus is still looking past the Gladiators and sending threats to Frozen Fury. Thunder is more focussed on the task at hand and vows to punish Rebel Empire for believing this will be a mere stepping stone to a match with the tag champs. The crowd hushes as the Aethran anthem belts out. It always sends shivers down the spine. Both Thunder and Overkill look ultra serious. Winning this tournament rebranded or not is pretty much demanded on Aethra. Rebel Empire out second. Similar concentration. Vendetta entered and frog marches straight up to Overkill trying to go chest to chest. Both huge men but Vendetta still not on Overkill’s level being a couple inches shorter and giving away about 80 lbs. It’s the prelude to what was a great match. So hard to call with periods of control for both teams. As the match entered its final phase it was the turn of Thunder to make most of the running. His high energy style had served him well thus far in the tournament but perhaps this time he went too far. Several times the commentary team said he should he looking to tag out. Nefarus wasn’t looking too great and it was a perfect opportunity to initiate their deadly DECAPITATOR finisher. But he stays in the ring and got suckered into a super dropkick from Nefarus. More of a defensive measure but it caught Thunder good. So good in fact that Thunder falls through the ropes and out of the ring. Vendetta jumps down and wastes no time in pitching Thunder back in. Following in he brushes Nefarus on the hand for the tag and they quickly go for EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT. Naturally Overkill tries to disturb the move but Nefarus changes his angle of attack and levels him with a crossbody from his top rope position. All the while Thunder remains sitting on Vendetta’s shoulders all groggy. No way he was chewing his way out of this bear trap. Nefarus quickly back to the top and comes down with DDT that forms the most devastating part of the move. Absolutely no surviving that. Nefarus gratefully covers Thunder and Rebel Empire takes it. As they hold up their awards we wonder if this will herald a new dawn of domination for the Colonizers? Rebel Empire have long been thought of as a team with the potential to become big players. Will this create a disturbance back on Aethra? The war chiefs are frustrated at the lack of Gladiator success. Still no tournament wins and at the moment feels a long time since they even held any tag gold.

CARD 944 – BADGE OF GLORY (Singles) – MIZAR SOLARSPHERE:
(Previous winner - Chaos)
Strange as it is for legends like Janus and the Matador not to be competing but the CPC does not want to give the GWF too many of its stars. For sure the Matador, as the only active hall of famer, would of been welcomed with open arms. However Paragon demands to be in it, he isn’t shy about confronting his employers. Worried they could lose him to the GWF, as the current deal is only 1 year and up for renewal soon, they give their blessing. The only demand they make of him is ‘make sure you win’. The show suffered teething problems. During the opening match there was a power cut and a blackout for several minutes. Blame instantly apportioned to the CPC tampering but the cause was later attributed to an overload on pyrotechnics. The GWF had tried to spice up the show and went too far. You just couldn’t make it up.
Added Attraction, FDF and the Stormtroopers descends into double DQ madness. Another crack at the FDF for the Stormtroopers. They are determined not too fade into obscurity just yet. US. Patriot and Jack more than up for it. As Adam puts it “I will never get tired of beating those traitors”. So all setup for a great match and a perfect opener ahead of the tournament bouts. Cassandra takes all the fun out of it though with her constant wails. But eventually does something useful. Expertly using her dominatrix rope to lasso Adam and stop a pin save. This really frustrated Adam who had been peppering both Stormtroopers with his finishers but for a variety of reasons could not finish either off. Although it happens several minutes later Cassandra’s action was the catalyst for FDF trying to get their own back grabbing some rope Commander Sam pulls out from under the ring. They beat their opponents down and tie both Hammer and Powerhouse together in the middle of the ring back to back. But Powerhouse is so strong he powers out. It’s moments after that the place gets plunged into darkness. Lots of panic, mainly among the crowd, whilst workers feverishly attend to the issue. When the lights come back up Cassandra is laid out sparko. Powerhouse scoops her up and bridal carries her away vowing revenge on the FDF for assaulting a woman. But soon gets ultra embarrassed when a fan (online tag: MRichir1) posts a vid on Spacebook taken with his infrared headcam. It categorically shows Powerhouse beating on anything that brushed against him. One of those being Cassandra. She accidentally stepped on his foot with her high heel so he just clotheslined her down in a reflex action. Amid all this carnage the announcer reveals the decision is a double DQ as the ref blames both teams for their actions. It’s a kind of retrospective verdict forced on his by the calamitous power cut.
First Round:
Wraith digs in to defeat Vengeance. Shades of Gladiator legend Massacre as Vengeance puffs a cigar on route to the ring leaving fans choking in its wake. But goes a step further and actually starts the contest still drawing on it. Building on something seen before where guys are coming up with ways to make it more difficult for Wraith to go invisible. The disgusting dense smoke being emitted serves to give a bodily outline. A tactic that works until Wraith is able to withstand the pain and physically remove the cigar by the tip from Vengeance’s mouth and stamp into the mat. The ring canvas get scorched as a result. Good job this wasn’t at Pelf Palace as they hand out harsh penalities there for any desecrating of ring apparatus. Anyway this little incident is long forgotten as it becomes an absolute marathon of a match. Both struggling to get the upper hand. Perhaps initially Vengeance makes most inroads with Eye Cleaver a couple of times but Wraith gets wise to it and starts keeping away from the move before it damaged his sight too much. Interestingly Wraith only uses invisibility once when in precarious positions. Choosing to bank them and it ultimately proves a canny move. When eventually getting on a strong run of offence he is able to impact SUDDEN DEATH with its full invisibility assisted force. Vengeance went down like a ton of bricks and is eliminated. What a year Wraith is having. For the Gladiators it’s yet another failure in this tournament.
Mandrill crushed Archon. What a big statement it would be from the Colonizers if Mandrill can follow up Rebel Empire’s win by triumphing here in the singles bracket. Also remembering how well Painmaster had done by going right to the final of the cage tournament. Worth noting that he’s actually won OTB before but that was donkeys years ago. It’s amazing the amount of psychological warfare that goes on in the fed. Mandrill tries to reopen old wounds for Archon in his promos. Constantly talking up the Brymstonians and how they are supporting his villain leadership. Especially of Blazing Skull whom he admires for conducting himself so well in the wake of the Crossfire ‘accident’. Archon closes his ears to such talk to get on with the task at hand. He’s been accused of being mundane with his close combat submission style but there’s no doubting its effectiveness. Sadly he is unable to really come close to upsetting Mandrill. He fought valiantly as always but took most of Mandrill’s big moves early. Clung on as long as he could but a MUTANT MAULER ends the resistance. Mandrill mounts the second rope on the turnbuckle in a victory pose. In a clear message to Chaos he proclaims “I am the leader of the villains and let nobody forget that”. His confident demeanour a result of Chaos dropping the belt and the fact he’s now got to face Wraith rather than Vengeance in the next round. It won’t be easy but he wouldn’t of fancied tangling with a Gladiator. He needs the Aethrans on side and not causing him any headaches.
Pegasus easily beats Paragon, he was barely tested. Paragon minus his CPC belt is under pressure to do well but other than Chaos he couldn’t of gotten a worse draw. Pegasus has already beaten him this year but of course in the eyes of Paragon that doesn’t count. He says it wasn’t a proper match being part of a Battlezone lineup and that Pegasus had a huge advantage being fresh. Might have a point there but he was very much second best to him and nobody is giving Paragon much chance here. He sets the early tempo though. Then the cameras focus in on Thantos. He gets round the Titan Death stipulation by purchasing a ticket right in the front row. Can clearly he heard giving instructions. Pegasus is irritated by this and confronts him. Works perfectly for Paragon to move in behind him. But hold your horses as Pegasus telegraphs. Paragon ends up taking out Thantos. Pegasus reaches over the barrier and takes a hold of Thantos by the back of the neck and plants him face first into the barrier for good measure. The crowd loves it as Pegasus now yanks a shocked Paragon by the bow tie into the ring. Once in there he completely dominated. In a five minute match Paragon never really laid a glove and got pinned after PROJECT PEGASUS twice in a row. Did well to kick out of one but after that was pretty much going to go down to anything. Although many wrestlers submit to the TOTAL SUBMISSION part of the finisher so at least he did well to withstand that. Nonetheless it’s a big humiliation for Paragon here. He tries to blame Pegasus’s shocking and unnecessary assault on Thantos for the limp effort “how could I possibly concentrate knowing my manager had been hurt, the match should never of been allowed to continue”. Everyone is getting tired of his excuses.
Raven is in outstanding form to see off Chaos. The two most successful OTB wrestlers in history collide. Could they now add the BOG trophy to their respective hauls? Chaos finds Raven pretty annoying. Describing him as being like a squawking little bird that keeps flapping around and won’t go away. Perhaps he is hoping Raven might setup nest elsewhere if WAR loses to the Gladiators this year. But for now he’s got to try and deal with him. Chaos proudly wears his new CPC belt down to the ring. Raven calls him a traitor for agreeing to wear that thing. Chaos angrily retorts “go eat some worms bird man. But not before I crush you. Remember I am the strongest force in the cosmos and not even the so called ‘Big Man’ cannot match up to me”. Raven has heard enough and confidently moves to engage Chaos. He’s beaten him plenty times before and is ready to do so again. Just as he is about to engage Chaos tries some gamesmanship shouting “gimme a sec” and starts looking down the runway. Raven is confused but Chaos said he thought he saw Wolf and was worried for a wildman attack on them both. Raven goes over to the rope and stares down towards the end. All of a sudden Chaos bellows ‘gotcha’ and powerfully clotheslines Raven from behind sending him over the top rope. A dirty trick but Raven quickly recovers from it. Athletically forcing himself back into the ring and rocking Chaos with a flurry of level 3 moves. A whisker away from a pin fall in about a minute after a Raven Reverse Slam. The pressure is incessant. Chaos cannot believe the firepower of Raven and tries to stave him off by rolling outside a lot. It did work once as Raven fell into trap and found himself resisting BOW OF DEFEAT a couple times having been thrown at the ring post. But giving up never crosses his mind. A backward eye poke forced a release on the second one just as he looked to be running out of air. He is able to brush it off and go again. Chaos just can’t cope and folds under numerous Vulture Dives and Raven’s BROADSWORD x2. Brilliant performance from Raven and showing his war with the Gladiators is not distracting him.
Second Round:
Mandrill ends the courageous run of Wraith. The tournament is throwing Genesis and the Colonizers regularly into conflict. First we had Rebel Empire against Frozen Fury and now this. Mandrill is hot favourite having had a much more comfortable opening round match but having struggled against Wraith as recently as 2 cards ago this could play on his mind. Wraith has a nice trick lined up to get the early upper hand. Mandrill marched up the runway only to go down inexplicably halfway down. As if walking into a brick wall. Suddenly Wraith crystallises into view in front of him. Mandrill is at his feet but not for long as Wraith grabs at him and proceeds to manhandle him all the way to the ring. Not the entrance Mandrill was expecting but having been thrown in he gets to his feet quickly and readies himself for Wraith. As Wraith slides into the ring himself Mandrill is straight down on the back of his head with a ferocious elbow. An exciting start but sadly Wraith struggles to keep it going. Mandrill was far fresher and the effects of some of Vengeance’s cruel moves earlier were taking their toll on Wraith. Mandrill cleverly adds to Wraith’s woes with use of Voltaic Stunner a few times. Not that it was all one way. Wraith caused one or two hairy moments and was brawling to the best of his ability. But Mandrill seemed to always have another gear. The MUTANT MAULER catches Wraith and with the high pin fatigue being carried it was going to take a pretty high roll to survived. Mandrill takes the win and a place in the final. But Wraith takes plenty of credit for the way he has performed. Dangerously Mandrill is one win away from another tilt at the Heavyweight belt. We all thought when he lost it a while back that his plan to become villain leader had taken a real setback but he’s made quite a rapid recovery and with Rebel Empire also looking strong the Colonizers pose a huge threat. It’s hard for the heroes because they are warring on two fronts what with the emergence of the CPC. None of the villain teams seem quite as prepared to stand up for the GWF as they do.
Raven wins the heroes battle against Pegasus. Again one of those matches where the crowd doesn’t know who to back. It’s great see two heroes of such high regard battling for a place in the final though. It’s not all about Chaos and Paragon you know. Both are very motivated despite the unfortunate name of the trophy on offer. Pegasus has surprisingly never won ONLY THE BEST whilst Raven wants to prove he is still a top level guy and get one over Gladiator rival Vengeance, who bombed miserably, in the process. There’s also bonus SUDDEN DEATH points on offer too. Pegasus gets a cheer for donning a get well Star Warrior shirt. Despite the competitive nature and what’s at stake the two heroes manage a handshake and then down to business. But as always happens when heroes face off one always slips into a slightly more heelish role. Naturally Pegasus plays this part. More of a pantomime villain though. Exemplified by a greater willing to take the action out of the ring whilst Raven wants to keep it inside the ropes at all times. Anyway those expecting a long and close battle were disappointed. Pegasus having just won a minor brawl looks for a big move and goes to the top rope. Maybe blinded by arrogance to go for it so early. Proved a big error. Raven is up on his feet fast and quickly mounts the buckles to meet Pegasus at the top. A bit of a struggle up there but Raven is far more comfortable in these positions. He works it so that he can suplex from Pegasus from a great height into the ring. Absolutely shuddering impact. Might of been able to pin Pegasus there and then but makes sure of it by following up with BLADERUNNER and it’s over. Raven goes to the final. He sportingly tried to help Pegasus up in the aftermath. Initially gets pushed away as Pegasus finds the loss tough to swallow but when the crowd starts to heckle he has a change of mood. Pats Raven on the back and hoists his arm to win the fans back as quick as he’d lost them. Then leaves the stage to Raven who celebrates and rather than return to the back for a quick break decides to stay in the ring. Defiantly calls his final opponent, Mandrill, out wanting to get underway as soon as possible to keep his momentum.
Final (special referee - Massif):
Raven controversially beats Mandrill by DQ. A big last minute surprise. Massif is the ref. He is proud to be a part of the GWF and comes out all suited and booted. He’s been pretty outspoken against the CPC in the past. This is one guy that can be counted on. Traditionalists might not like messing with the formula of the event but this is a rebranding after all and Massif being there has certainly made the final a bit special. Raven who was already in the ring claps Massif. A different attitude from his opponent though. Mandrill makes his way out and immediately protests against his presence. Claims Massif won’t be impartial as he favours the heroes. Massif doesn’t take kindly to this and threatens to disqualify Mandrill on the spot unless he shuts up. Mandrill looks like a little ape being scolded as he backs away into a corner and decides to quietly wait the bell. The announcer proclaims the match will no longer be Titan Death because of Massif’s involvement. This annoys Mandrill again as for sure he would of had Sentry at ringside if he’d known. But he continues to quietly brood. Finally after some strong words from Massif about he would not tolerate any misdemeanours the wrestlers are let off the leash. Massif then rules with an iron rod and doesn’t let the wrestlers get away with too much. Perhaps too intervening as things aren’t allowed to really flow. Some of the crowd get a little frustrated by this. Things do get much more interesting as Mandrill gets a decent run of offence. After failing to finish Raven with COLONIZER CLAW SLAM he goes to the corner. Intending to make a deathjump the next move. Massif, like so many times, moves to stop him. Mandrill has a pretty short fuse and had enough. Turns and starts yelling at Massif. Gets more and more heated before Mandrill makes the fatal mistake of shoving Massif. Well that was the red flag to a bull. Massif tears off his suit jacket and pummels Mandrill ferociously. At the end of the beating he exits the ring to grab the trophy. Everyone wonders if this will be used on Mandrill but instead he hands it to Raven and raises his arm. Mandrill was disqualified for his actions. Massif thought this would be a crowd pleaser but there is a lot of heckling. Not the way anyone wanted the match decided. Raven sheepishly accepts the victory and leaves pretty sharpish. A pretty limp end to the whole show.

Latest News:
There’s never a slow news month. The biggest headline is that the OTB rebranding fails. Instead we had the laughable scenario of Vyper, Rebel Empire and Raven winning the first ever BOG awards. Raven’s victory was tainted with controversy due to the way it ended. Sonora Pelf says the name fits as the GWF is going down the toilet and instead of trophies they should of handed out toilet rolls. The tournament winners waste no time cashing in their title shots with all of them making challenges. Poor Wolf will have to defend the Heavyweight belt three times next month if Terminus gets his way. Terminus claims to be the top contender and refuses to lose out on an entitled title shot just because of some silly tournament. Knowing Wolf he’ll happily go in for all this if it comes to it. If he ends the month no longer holding the title, as could likely happen, it won’t bother him too much. He doesn’t need the belt to be a big draw or inflate his own sense of worth. Anyway we will see what happens as the month progresses.
But there was a rude shock before that as Paragon relinquished the CPC belt to Chaos. The CPC had been trying to stockpile all their titles and all was going well with Prodigy regaining the Cruiserweight belt earlier in the show before this happened. Pegasus is under huge pressure to get it back ASAP. Can he do it? Three times they have met now and Chaos has had his measure each and every time. Added to that Pegasus seems to have his number too. Paragon’s failings could be good for the Matador as he might get a chance to be the main man again if Paragon continues to misfire. Not so good for Janus though who has had a wretched year. Rumour mill is he could be on borrowed time in the CPC. There are possible replacements on the radar.
With Barbed Wire Cage, Torture Chamber and 4 Weapons matches still to come Terminus wants to pull the plug on the special matches challenge against Wolf early before he gets hacked to bits. Currently he trails 4-3. As mentioned earlier he instead wants a regular match with the GWF Heavyweight belt on the line. Of course Wolf won’t hear of it warning “I will drag him kicking and screaming to every match”. Maybe the title will be on line in the next special match as some kind of compromise.
There was the shockingly violent attack on Star Warrior at Pelf Palace. Magnus Colby says it was regretful but had to be done for the protection of him and the invited guests. The new ‘head of security’ Splatter really did a number on Star Warrior who was hospitalised and could even be out til the end of the year. It was that severe. The image of him being carried out of the Palace was pretty haunting and made headline news on most sports websites. Splatter is loving his role and wants more GWF wrestlers to step out of line so he can go to town on them. His only regret is that he wasn’t on the job the night the Mercenaries got all bolshy when Dark Justice was facing Terminus. He would of loved to of taken out his old Hitmen buddies. The catalyst to all this was Colby’s indecent overtures to Supernova and doctoring a photo of her which was beamed onto the Palace video wall. More pictures of Supernova in her birthday suit are being leaked online since then. The latest is one of her wearing nothing but the CPC ladies belt. Colby thinks everyone should chill. It was just a bit of fun that even his wife found funny. A view not shared by the entire Champions team. This feud is still bubbling as a result.
Again with CPC and we could get a sneak peek of their own tournament to go up against OTB/BOG (or whatever the GWF chooses to call it going forwards) next year. Reynard B. Guile cannot keep a secret and blurts plans are being drawn up for THE COLBY CUP. To staged in either 2107 or 2108. A pilot tournament featuring only CPC guys is being planned in the next month or two.
The handsome devil better known as Vanity is back among the GWF. He officially joins the commentary team and says he will bring much needed flair to the role as well as helping the fed by attracting ladies to the shows again. He is also pushing for his own talk show to rival the likes of Johnny Rocket and Qualitar. If it gets the green light it’ll be called ‘the Beauty Parlour’.
More pressure being applied to the GWF by the community to create a Cruiserweight belt but they are still unmoved. The unofficial word is they have no interest in throwing belts around like confetti.
INJURED – Star Warrior (?); SUSPENDED – none; EXILED – Titan Gliders (2)
SUDDEN DEATH SCORING … GLADIATORS 24-21 WAR … None of the protagonists crossed paths during the tournaments but it didn't end all static on the points front this month. Raven's BADGE OF GLORY triumph managed to close the gap a little. The main news is Vengeance now wants a Torture Chamber match with Raven where he vows to not only slice and dice him but end the resistance of WAR once and for all. The challenge awaits a response. Raven’s delayed response is down to some rumoured internal strife on New Order again. On the surface all appears fine but Mace is getting frustrated with Dreggs behind the scenes. He thinks his partner is largely responsible for the losing gap and then when Dreggs barely helped him against Rebel Empire that was the last straw. They had to be parted back at the team training base. With Mayhem, of all people, playing peacemaker. At the moment everyone is having it tread on eggshells around Mace in case he blows again.
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
WRAITH – Has been a revelation since becoming a singles wrestler full-time. Sadly all this time seems Vertigo was holding him back. Has now usurped Max Shield’s position as top guy on the Genesis team and delivering in bucketloads. The IP title he holds and the strong run at BADGE OF GLORY tell only part of the success story.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
REBEL EMPIRE – Trod a difficult path to win BADGE OF GLORY but stood up to every test including finally getting the better of their rivals Frozen Fury. Can they follow up this strong month with tag title glory at long last? If they get hold of them I am betting they will be very difficult to displace as champs.

CARD 945 – RHEA FORUM:
Heavyweight champ, Wolf, beats Vyper in a great cage match. Vyper is fortunate to get this title shot because the GWF didn’t think through the implications of someone winning the cage bracket. But Vyper’s form has been great so maybe he deserves it. He opts to face Wolf in a cage to keep his run in this match type going. But Wolf loves cage matches and was more than happy to learn the stipulation. Notably Vyper keeps his snakes firmly in the bag. The unpredictability of Wolf too much to risk. So we get a pure cage match devoid of gimmicks. May the best man win. What we get is a classic. For the opening 10 mins or so it’s nothing but Wolf. Hitting poor Vyper with everything. Two painful stints in SAVAGE FACE CLAW among all the punishment. But Vyper won’t lie down. Everytime Wolf makes for an escape, the only way he’ll ever choose to win, Vyper is pulling out an amazing feat to keep him inside the cage. Wolf was actually on the other side at one point but Vyper reached through the bars and stopped him. Maybe Wolf could of still forced his way down but he seemed quite willing to climb back up and carry on. Buoyed by the last of the great saves Vyper starts to put together some offence of his own. Nowhere near as one-sided but he did perform VYPER’S SIDESHOW which hinted at a possible shock title switch but Wolf had similar heart to stop him escaping. There were a couple more hairy moments too. The battle raged on but now approaching 20 mins Wolf gets a second wind and comes on strong again. The token count for Vyper starting to get critical now. As so often happens in long and draining matches they can end on innocuous moves. All the earlier bombardment having taken a heavy toll. This was no different. Wolf performs a face rake. His sharp claws magnify the damage of a move like this. Vyper was already bleeding and this just increased the flow of blood. All too much for him now. He falls against a buckle perhaps to rest but finds he hasn’t got the strength to get back up again. Wolf decides the punishment is enough and makes an unhindered escape. Stopping at the top to look back at Vyper who is watching him but unable to move. Wolf gives him a respectful nod. He knew this had been tough and just the kind of battle he loves. Then continues his descent down the other side to glory. That’s one title defence down for the month but two more to go. Raven next.
Ms. Liberty shocks Thrash to win the Ladies belt. Surprisingly Supernova glossed over. The GWF is worried about her mental state and the emotional strain of competing for another belt will place on her. Ms. Liberty steps up to the plate but there is a whiff uncertainty about stepping in the ring here. Thrash is full of confidence and has been destroying most people she faces. With Ms. Liberty not getting any younger she’s understandably fearful of injury. Thrash senses that fear and goes for the jugular. But got suckered in and immediately collided with a turnbuckle. Ms. Liberty had outsmarted her by feigning fear. She then really goes for it. Figuring she has nothing to lose. Thrash rarely fought back. As if she was happy to take a period of Ms. Liberty on top almost as if to say ‘let’s see what you’ve got’. Certainly looks like that was the plan as Thrash out of nowhere changes the flow with a Neck Thrasher followed by FEMME FATAL. The announcer was gathering up the mic he was that certain it was now over. But no, a remarkable kickout. Thrash looked flabbergasted and it seemed to affect her whole match remainder. Just not able to raise her game again and Ms. Liberty wrestling the match of her life. Even when she hit THE LIBERATOR nobody expected it to work but as the ref’s palm struck the mat a third time the realisation dawned. Ms. Liberty had beaten the seemingly unbeatable Thrash and won the belt. A joyous moment. One to be savoured but can’t see it lasting too long. Thrash will be gunning for her now.
Alpha Force and Colussus defeated X-Termination by count-out. Sigh of relief for the two singles ‘superstars’. Colussus had to move pretty quick to kickout after HEADBANGER’S BALL just a handful of moves in. Settled down after that and after Alpha Force put Grunge in an Indian Deathlock grabbed a count-out win. Grunge rolled out the ring after its release and just laid there on the canvas. Probably pretending to be more hurt than he really was because he didn’t want to experience that again. Johnny Rocket is sore at the loss and tried to provoke some internal heat among the Champions by warning them about Colussus “I am a good judge of character and would like to warn the Champions team that Colussus will turn on them all before long”. Not the sort of thing poor Star Warrior wants to be hearing as he tries to recover in hospital.
Ninja Assassins win a thriller over Titan Fury. The Ninjas nearly lost this in about 30 seconds as Daeman was immediately on the end of DAY OF THE DRAGON. Darkos intervened but only just. After that it’s a seesaw match full of risk taking. Eventually Dragonmaster lost out to Daeman’s IRON HAND. This followed his taking DOUBLE EDGE SWORD not too long before and just about escaping being pinned.
Lycosa beats Karah by DQ. Good effort from Karah. Beavering away from start to finish and even getting off BARBARIAN SHUFFLE. But Lycosa just has too much class and starts to close in on victory. A spinning DDT left Karah ripe for the pickings. Terak uncharacteristic in then trying to save Karah which caused the disqualification.
Skinhead squashed Ursa Major. Pretty much the wrestling equivalent of a slam dunk. Within 2 moves Skinhead nailed BAD ATTITUDE. Didn’t lead to the pin but just 2 more moves and a Superior Slingshot did.

CARD 946 – RHEA FORUM:
Heavyweight champ, Wolf, sees off Raven. Some bad blood after Wolf’s torrid past membership of the WAR team. Also worth mentioning that Raven’s rise had annoyed Mace “I thought he wanted us all to concentrate on the feud with the Gladiators and not go after titles”. Raven deserves a medal for the way he has carried himself through all this and also helped close the gap on the Gladiators. They had threatened to run away with it all. Could he put it all to one side and win the belt? For sure if he does then will have to let the others off the leash and start contending for belts. Otherwise there could be a mutiny. Showing no hard feelings to Wolf he offered a handshake. Wolf grabs his hand but then pulls Raven in close and clotheslined him down. Guess feelings are still raw. Despite such a heelish move the fans cheer Wolf passionately. He can just about get away with anything. The match that follows is pretty short but intense. Wolf totally owns Raven to begin with. Very quickly working up to the SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Twice he applies it but Raven breaks the hold each time. First he got to the ropes and second time a kick to the stomach managed to force a break. Wolf then drops the initiative by going for a deathjump. Raven managed to pull him down before he jumped. Just like that Raven was on top and after BROADSWORD and BLADERUNNER in short order looked for all the world that he was going to be winning the belt. But Wolf kicks out in the nick of time. Amazing powers of recovery. Wolf then feeds off this energy to storm back. Using the outside to his advantage. Starting a brawl, which he inevitably won before directing the action back in the ring. The SAVAGE FACE CLAW was applied once more and this time Raven was in no condition to fight it. This is a hell of a run from Wolf. Unprecedented that he might still be champ at the end of a month that involves 3 title defences. Raven was not bitter. Although Wolf had used some questionable tactics he accepted that Wolf was just hungrier and more determined.
Interplanetary champ, Wraith, caught Painmaster cold. They meet again. A title shot earned by Painmaster for such a strong run in the recent cage tournament and the fact Vyper set his sights higher than this belt. Painmaster didn’t do himself justice last time at GALACTICON and pledges to be much tougher in his punishing of Wraith here. But this just ends up being even more of a disaster. Just 4 moves in and he is on the end of a Wraith Waistlock Suplex. Sentry didn’t make a move as there was no expectation for Painmaster to be in any peril from this. But Painmaster was stunned and didn’t react quick enough to the cover. Obviously there was no intention of accepting the loss. Wraith barely had his hand raised by the ref when Painmaster, having cleared the cobwebs, is viciously attacking him. Sentry had slid a chair under the rope for him to use. He got a couple of blows before Vertigo is able to zip in and knock Painmaster off his stride. Rather than stop things escalating things intensify with Frozen Fury and Rebel Empire joining the fracas. A wild brawl now takes place with bodies going everywhere. Inevitably Buck Steele took enough hits to turn into Genocide. He starts tossing the Colonizers from the ring like rag dolls. He even accidentally ousted Vertigo during his rage. The realising of which seemed to calm Genocide down. Even in his hulking form he was able to feel shame. The Colonizers are just about picking themselves up now. Probably relieved worse harm hasn’t come to them. Nefarus calls his team to withdraw. Not wanting to take anymore risk especially with an important title match with Frozen Fury looming. In the aftermath of all this there will also be another important match to follow that as Rebel Empire will then team with Painmaster to face Frozen Fury and Wraith in what will be wild 6 man tag action. Best way to settle this.
Transevolver annihilated FDF. The CPC tag champs leave the luxurious Palace to give the die hard GWF fans a close up of the belts. Even though this is non-title. Doomsayer brags “take a good look at them whilst you can. Soon the only place you’ll see gold like this will be at Pelf Palace”. Both Dreadnaught and Monad stand behind him as he says this. But the moment Dreadnaught hears the announcement of the FDF, or more specifically US. Patriot, his proud look is replaced with a look of hatred. Both Adam and Commander Sam still sicken him after all these years. His brief alliance with them one that he bitterly regrets. Jack of Diamonds by association also now an enemy for life. In fact Dreadnaught has gone on record to say “there’s only one thing worse than an American Earthling and that’s someone who is also humanoid and friends with them”. With Sam leading the charge both Jack and Adam hit the ring at pace. Colliding into both Monad and Dreadnaught. Doomsayer isn’t the quickest mover with his exo-skeleton and only just avoids being sandwiched. He clumsily ends up next to Sam who then disrespectfully takes him down with a leg sweep. Sam yells out “still got it” and bounds over to the other side like he’s still in the flush of youth. The war inside the ring now commences. Not pretty. Jack and Adam leaving their technicals behind and ready to slug it out. But clearly the wrong tactic as it all blows up in their face. Transevolver want a brawl. It’s what they are best at. Little over a minute later Jack has been thrown from the action and Adam is being pulled apart with SURFBOARD SUBMISSION. Sam desperately tries to get Jack back in the ring whilst Adam tries to withstand the pain. Jack is groggy but acts on instruction. Rushes towards Monad but Dreadnaught just steps across his path with an arm extended and almost took his head off. Then at the behest of Dreadnaught the hold is released. He and Monad then scoop Adam up and work together to slam his face into the mat with incredible force. Adam’s nose must of got busted in the process. Monad now pins Adam. One last desperate cavalry charge from Commander Sam is thwarted. Monad keeps the pin in place with his lower arms whilst using his upper arms to fend off Sam long enough. Dreadnaught steps in to deal with his old rival. Hitting Sam with GUIDED MISSILE which sent the old man hurtling into a buckle backwards where he then stayed slumped. Transevolver now grab their titles and leave. Doomsayer looked delighted at the scene of devastation that they’d left behind.
The Centaurians beat Assassin Air Raid by DQ. Not a great performance from the high flying Assassins. They’ve received so many plaudits but I guess they were due an off night. Enigma taking the brunt of it all. After Talisman struck with a diving knee Darkos tried to hand Lycosa a foreign object to come off the top turnbuckle with. But the ref caught him red handed and disqualified Assassin Air Raid immediately. Talisman looked pretty annoyed a likely pin victory was taken away from the team. Darkos didn’t care and was in no mood to entertain Talisman. With the Terrorists inside the building he wanted away as soon as possible. He’d actually been pretty brave to be at ringside. Normally stays well away when he knows Draconian Sheik is on the same bill.
Draconian Sheik terrorised Soldier of Fortune. No chance for the ageing Soldier of Fortune. He was unable to withstand the ferocity of Drac. Once in DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER outcome was inevitable. A second sadistic application finished him off. With no allies in attendance Soldier of Fortune looked very vulnerable but the Terrorists seemed to take uncharacteristic pity and just left him pathetically curled up in a heap.
Amazonia gets the better of Velar. Feuding rivals reacquainted. Amazonia generally calling the shots and winning via AMAZON ATTACK for the second time.

CARD 947 – PELF PALACE:
CPC Heavyweight champ, Chaos, beats the Matador of M83 by DQ. It would of been typical behaviour of the CPC to give Paragon an immediate rematch but perhaps even they felt that was taking favouritism to a new level. So recently relieved of his half of the CPC tag belts the original favourite of the organisation, the Matador, steps back up. He knows Chaos inside out and is seen as their best current hope of toppling Chaos. Still pretty questionable though as the Matador hasn’t exactly been active in singles competition. He is receiving this title shot more on reputation than anything else. When the two old rivals come together in the ring Chaos looks down on his old friend “despite what everyone thinks about me I never sold out. My domain is the GWF. Even holding this belt doesn’t change that. The only reason you and Janus left is because I am bigger than you both in every respect. Thought you could all have your own little fed to dominate yet here I am holding what you desire”. The Matador says nothing. At the urging of his manager, Thantos, he backs away and starts stretching against the ropes. Chaos laughs “I wouldn’t bother with all that. It won’t help. Your limbs will soon be crushed by my powerful arms”. He then runs at him like a locomotive. But in true Matador style there is a sidestep and Chaos impacts the nearby turnbuckle ‘Ole’. Chaos angrily rubs his shoulder and decides to slow himself down. The Matador’s speed and agility would have to be nullified at close quarters. It’s not really one of the classics though and when only a few minutes in, after Chaos evacuates the ring following a Matador Death Run, he got thrown into some tables a DQ was called against the Matador. Puzzling stuff as why would the ref make such a call when he knows the CPC is so desperate to reclaim the belt? But then the jigsaw pieces fall into place. Clearly they don’t want anyone else from their roster on top until Paragon is ready to challenge again. By putting him out the title picture for a brief time it makes things seem much more credible. Wonder if the Matador has worked this out? Maybe he did but a suitcase of money just so happened to find it’s way to his personal changing area.
CPC Interstellar champ, Dark Justice, outfights Wildcat. Whilst Vyper is making a name for himself in the GWF Wildcat gets an unexpected opportunity to do the same in the CPC. Justice is not expected to be too troubled but it could easily become a hard slog. Wildcat is pretty well known for being able to take a beating but hang on in matches. And of course he has a pretty good finisher that can come out of nowhere. Even if it is still risky as hell. The officials have no objection to the Mercenaries being at ringside with Justice. Maybe if he was facing one of their own guys it’d be a different story. Luckily for Wildcat the previous animosity towards Mollock has been relaxed and he also has two to accompany him with Terak also being there. It’s quite a crowd outside but it doesn’t do anything to change the expected outcome. Justice putting out most of the offence but finding Wildcat difficult to finish. He hit SHOCK PROBATION twice plus distractions allowed for ROD OF JUSTICE. Still not able to finish Wildcat off but with all that bombardment many of his nine lives probably now lost. Must be said that it was not all one way. Wildcat offered some offence back but nothing that caused any real threat. Perhaps his attempt to force the issue became the downfall. He threw Justice into the ropes, went to sunset flip him but got pinned to the mat. Justice times it perfect to lean forward and transfer his weight so that he is able to grab the legs and knot Wildcat up in a pinning position. One from which Wildcat didn’t have the strength to push out of. The afters see the Mercenaries block the carpeted runway holding their weapons to stop Mollock leaving. Vigilante pronounces this savage and dangerous beast is being taken into their custody. The guns are replicas but do still strike fear. But the Mercenaries fume as Mollock steps forward and bends their gun. He is too powerful to be stopped and knocks them over like tenpins. He then shields Wildcat and Terak allowing them to leave safely. Magnus Colby stands up and applauds the show.
CPC Ladies champ, Supernova, swats away the challenge of Cassandra. Supernova defiantly keeps coming back to the Palace to defend her belt despite all the smut being pedalled. Unbelievably Cassandra is her opponent again. We all thought Cassandra’s moment had passed. Surely she won’t get another as she did go down pretty easily. Supernova using his agility to keep Cassandra at bay and then use SPEED OF LIGHT to close it out and keep her title. In a change of attitude Supernova’s nervous demeanour is replaced by a confident one. She holds aloft her belt to celebrate and even shakes her booty. Perhaps a signal to Magnus Colby that he can’t break her. But it could be more then this as the recent issues have had apparently had a startling side effect on Supernova. Her father, Omega, is a tad worried. She has been staying out late and getting into trouble. He describes her as a delinquent and it’s down to Colby and the stress caused. Vanity, who covers shows for both GWF and CPC, is on the commentary and annoying viewers by reacting to this with “no surprises to hear that. She comes from a dysfunctional family. Personally I wouldn’t touch her for fear of catching something”.
Colussus beats Paragon. Who’d of thought Paragon would be thrust into the CPC midcard so soon. But he’s only got himself to blame. After a dominating start to his career in this dimension recent events have been something of a fiasco. Although he keeps churning excuses despite the fact they are wearing thin. Maybe he is still the top guy but after being literally handed the Heavyweight belt on arrival he’s now got to pay his dues. Perhaps the CPC is playing a dangerous game by doing this. But they are pretty confident he won’t jump ship to the GWF whilst it is floundering and besides it’s making their product pretty interesting. As part of the developing rivalry the CPC has with the Champions he now faces Colussus. A big chance for the cyborg to put his name in lights again. He is finding it tough being in the shadow of Pegasus and Alpha Force all the time. A win here might just be the push he needs. But Thantos senses his insecurities and goads Colussus “you are finally learning what it’s like to be in that team. Blood is thicker than water and you’ll always be the outsider. Get out before your career disappears down a hole”. Colussus doesn’t get agitated on hearing this. You could almost see the cogs turning in his head as he thought it through. Trouble is the pause was fatal as it allows Paragon to make the first move with a grinding headlock spot that converts into a bulldog. It hits the robotic side of the head but Colussus was still dazed from it. Not the start he wanted. But Paragon is too cocky and arrogantly posing after such a good move. He doesn’t see or expect Colussus to get up as soon as he did. Colussus shocks him with a Paragon Power Bomb. It’s only a brief run of offence as Paragon gets out of a pickle by going outside and planting Colussus into the ring post subsequenty. Now sets about trying to dismantle Colussus. Hated having one of his own moves used against him and unleashes the Paragon Power Bomb himself “see that’s how you do it properly”. Colussus has to hang on through a torrid period but slowly but surely starts to come back again. Paragon cannot understand how Colussus can bounce back on some of his biggest moves as if nothing happened. He doesn’t know Colussus well enough to realise impacting one half of his body is pretty much useless. Colussus builds on this grey area of Paragon’s knowledge. Even has the audacity to attempt FINAL OVERTURE but Paragon just about fends off the move. Colussus is undeterred and keeps the pressure on. Hits CYBORG DEATHBLOW twice. The second of which has Thantos worried enough to interfere. But suddenly it’s looking ominous. Colussus is unrelenting and a falling hammer condemns Paragon to yet another defeat. The token count between them and the fact the CPC-Champions is so hot meant this was rated a 5* classic. Colussus’s reward for victory not so good though. Splatter having just wrestled was handily placed for a lottery attack. Colussus takes a bloody beating. Not much he can do other than hope it’s over quick. He would of been annoyed to learn Alpha Force had already left the Palace so nobody to save him. The result is he leaves on a stretcher and later reports reveal a 7 card injury duration. Splatter might be suspended for the action as the CPC needs to be seen to doing stuff against atrocities that take place in full camera glare. More on this soon.
Splatter upsets Alpha Force. Maybe being part of the CPC and its head if security isn’t all its cracked to be. Splatter is living on the breadline. His place looks like a pig sty but he is all consumed by his bloodlust and doesn’t seem to care. Anyway he is now sharing duties with Mad Jester who is body guarding him at ringside. Is this how it’s going to be from now on? Jester and Splatter interfering in each others matches and causing even more bedlam. In fact Jester was even walking around with a device doing background checks on many of the fans in front row. Completely cuckoo! Perhaps he should of been keeping his eye on what was happening in the ring for Alpha Force is steaming over what Splatter did to his brother. Ready to try and destroy him for the not only revenge but also for the good of the GWF. After weathering an intense opening salvo from Splatter he got out the way of a deathjump. Assumed control and all was looking good. Firing off big move after big move including TOMAHAWK THRUST. But Splatter took it all on the chin. Waited it out for a chance to launch a second wave. This one too much for Alpha Force who is beaten by THE SHREDDER. Interestingly rather than leave straight after Splatter hangs around near the runway entrance. Skulking in the shadows. What’s he up to?
Theatre of Pain surprised Assassin Air Raid. Rude shock for the Assassins. Comedy rolls through a cross body block attempt by Enigma and gets the pin. No less than Theatre of Pain deserved after they were thwarted from earlier winning after SHAKESPEARE on Lycosa.
Dreadnaught flattened Jack of Diamonds. Continuation of the feud between Transevolver and FDF which has really been heating up. Dreadnaught was in unstoppable form and nuked Jack with GUIDED MISSILE. He even had one for Commander Sam as payback for trying to help poor Jack out.
Lower World defeated Titan Fury by count-out. Tough one to take for the Titans. Not at their best. Especially Rising Sun who struggles. He got counted-out whilst grappling Death’s Head. Although it was part down to being attacked by Maleph.

CARD 948 – SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS – RIGEL NOVA PAVILLION:
THE BEAUTY PARLOUR … Pilot show. Don’t think another will be commissioned after Vanity turned it into a silly blind date show with a smooching competition. Then when one of the females gets annoyed with Vanity being too full on he does a runner. There wasn’t one mention of wrestling. The guy in GWF HQ who okayed this is sure to be in hot water. The fans in attendance boo heavily at the segment.
Heavyweight champ, Wolf, battered Terminus in a 4 Weapons of Destruction match. With Terminus complaining about receiving a title match but at the same time trying to get out of the special matches challenge the GWF comes up with a solution to please all. Their 8th special match would also have the title on line. No way Terminus could duck out of it unless he wanted to scupper his big chance. Terminus entered first and was wary of all the turnbuckles and the pitfalls associated with them. In stark contrast Wolf cannot wait. He’s already running full throttle down the runway ahead of his announcement. Throws off his belt halfway down and hits Terminus at about a million miles per hour. Turning the screw immediately but Terminus has some nifty counters and gets an early control. He is almost at one with the Stun Rod and uses it expertly. Big concerns for Wolf as he very quickly goes 5 tokens down but then he makes one of his amazing comebacks. With adrenaline surging he surges back and never gives up another token. Terminus is finished off in a matter of a few more minutes after being rammed head-first into the barbed turnbuckle. Along the way Wolf gave memorable moments. Using SAVAGE FACE CLAW several times but the best spot came when he wrapped the chain around the neck of Terminus. Then whilst he was being choked Wolf whips him into barbed turnbuckle. Double whammy and really took it out of Terminus. Massively popular outcome and Wolf really in the driving seat of the special matches challenge now. At best Terminus can only draw level but not fancying his chances now. Especially with a 3 card injury impact from this match. Will he be healed in time for the next one? It brings down the curtain on an incredible month for Wolf as he survives an unprecedented 3 title defences and is still the champion.
Tag champs, Frozen Fury, see off Rebel Empire again in a no DQ match. Rebel Empire cash in their title shot. Cleverly Mandrill advises them to opt for a no DQ stipulation rather than a Titan Death match. It means Sentry can be at ringside and interfere without risk of a DQ. Unfortunately Vertigo is nowhere to be seen. He hadn’t cottoned on that stipulations still allowed managers or bodyguards to be at ringside. Rebel Empire are flashing there BADGES OF GLORY to belittle them. Something Mandrill will be happy to see after he was shafted in the singles bracket. The main thing above all else though is to finally take possession of the belts. It was typically frantic and exciting. Genocide summoned very early after Rebel Empire tried to win fast with EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT. Although initially Genocide makes little impression. Instead Blizzard had a sustained run but fared badly and took THE BIG FALL numerous times. Eventually he got back out and this time Genocide was at his hulking best. It’s a wonder Vendetta was still even able to move as he was poleaxed with CORPUS GENOCIDE twice. Sentry and Nefarus on hand each time to stop him losing but surely he couldn’t take much more. Blizzard comes back in now to try and finish it off. When he hits FROSTBITE it’s all over. Rebel Empire fails again.
Raven downs Vengeance in a brutal Torture Chamber match. A truly bloody battle so in keeping with the barbaric nature of this legendary match. Censorring manages to spare those watching across the cosmos the vision but those in attendance get the full gory treatment. Although many viewers criticise the GWF for trying to water their product down. Much of the bloodiness stems from a sharp object Vengeance has smuggled in. He wasn’t shy about using but Raven soon realises if he is to stand any chance he is going to have to get dirty too. The object drops to the ground for a moment and Raven arms himself with it. He manages to inflict several lacerations of his own before it then goes free again and falls outside the chamber. With wrestling moves back on the agenda Vengeance has the impetus. He’d already inflicted the more damage despite Raven possessing the object. Moves within a whisker of victory (2-0) after HELTER SKELTER rattles Raven. But the new WAR leader knows his team is probably doomed if he gives in. Shocks Vengeance with a stirring comeback that starts with BLADERUNNER. The cheering of the crowd rises as he then follows up with BROADSWORD. At this point both of them of them are struggling to stand. Next big move will do it and it’s Raven again. He delivers a second BROADSWORD and Vengeance stays down amid a pool of blood. The Chamber is quickly lifted and Raven, looking worse for wear, triumphantly staggers away. Just enough energy to lift his arm and thumbs up the crowd. Vengeance by contrast is carefully stretchered away but the medics put restraints round him in case he regains consciousness and lashes out in frustration. The result of the loss is a 2 card injury. Could of been worse but the greater damage is the points given up by the Gladiators in their feud with WAR.
Pegasus squashed Manslaughter. Still midcard mediocrity for Pegasus. He’s still playing along and not complaining but the fed needs to be wary. Guys like him are essential to keeping the fans flocking in. Behind Wolf he is probably the next most popular and arguably the best and most well rounded wrestler of all. But given his heelish past and prima dona nature he could easily be swayed by the $$$ of the CPC. In fact one young reporter from GWI magazine even suggested that could be a future path for Pegasus. Suffice to say Pegasus didn’t like that and roughed his collar up “how could you say that. Remember I am the hero of heroes and will save the GWF”. For such a big and powerful young man Manslaughter looks nervous. He swallows uncomfortably on sight of Pegasus. He can see how ticked off and motivated his opponent is. Nonetheless he steams right in but just 3 moves later he is picking himself up beaten and humiliated. Pegasus easily countered his opening moves and used PROJECT PEGASUS. Absolutely no messing around. Surely after this he’s got to be near getting back in the title picture. It’s time for the GWF to stop pushing other guys. Maybe they should try and get him going after the CPC Heavyweight belt. With Chaos holding it this could be a good move as it puts arguably their headline feud right in the faces of Colby and Pelf.
Malice destroyed Mayhem. Although Malice has fared much better this year there is still a lot of pressure on him. All the good work in beating Wolf at BADGE OF GLORY was immediately undone with a weak effort against Painmaster in the next round. You just never know what you’re going to get with Malice. There isn’t much patience on Aethra. Needs to deliver here. Mayhem is in similar boat as not exactly starring for WAR but he thrives on such pressure and begins in a brawling fashion. Unfortunately he catches Malice on one of his unstoppable nights. Malice routinely fends off early attacks of Mayhem. Then after whipping Mayhem into the ropes absolutely flattens him with one of the most devastating clotheslines you’re ever likely to see. Wasting no time he then goes for FIELDS OF MALICE. Pretty certain Mayhem isn’t going anywhere. So it’s the riskier +4 variant and the impact is as sweet as anything. Huge win for Malice. The commentary team simply says “wow” in response to that. Mayhem’s team leader, Raven, won’t be thanking him for folding so weakly here. There is now incredible pressure on him to get something out the next match.
Thunder overcame Dreggs. Fans might feel short changed. Preferring to see New Order and the Gladiators go at it again in tag action but some of the GWF booking decisions are questionable these days. However both have proven themselves to be very competent singles competitors and will serve up an intense match. Their partners were both expected to be at ringside. But only Overkill shows up. The disharmony between New Order clearly the reason Mace was absent. Although the odds are stacked Dreggs gives a decent effort but ultimately Thunder is superior and wastes him with THE TEMPEST to win. It doesn’t end there though. Overkill now joins Thunder in the ring and they proceed to batter Dreggs. He is repeatedly hit with THE DECAPITATOR. Although both Raven and Mayhem from the WAR team are present at the arena it’s only Raven who runs out to help Dreggs. But only to drag Dreggs out the ring. He doesn’t engage the Gladiators at all. They let him leave. The message had been received. Poor Dreggs was immediately checked out and told he would be injured for the next 2 cards. The GWF takes no action against the Gladiators for the attack. Another unpopular decision.
The Stormtroopers edge Titan Gliders. Unexpected classic. The Titans were missing their manager after Lord Nexus was held up in a sandstorm whilst visiting kids on Mercury. He was forced to take shelter and cut off for a while. No problem as his team were working their socks off and coping without him. It could of gone either way as all 4 guys in the ring contributed massively. Although there was a tense moment in the first minute as Scion was on the end of STORMTROOPER BLITZ but Talon not only saved him but turned the match. Hammer also needing assistance after TALON’S PREY. After this you’d of been hard pushed to pick a winner. Ten more minutes of scintillating tag action until Talon sadly submits to a scorpion deathlock by Hammer. Despite the narrow loss Scion excitedly proclaimed post match “It’s great to be back. That exile felt like an eternity”. Dragonmaster on the mic tells the watching cosmos “for all you Titan fans out there the team is in good hands. They may of lost but the Gliders are going to bloom into a great team which could surpass even the achievements of past Titan teams”. Some compliment there!
The Creeper beat Draconian Sheik by DQ. There’s no attempts to break down any social barriers with these two. Officials just pretty much leave them too it. Even the ref stands ringside and watches the action from a safer vantage point. Although with the Terrorists prowling am not sure on that wisdom. Luckily Mollock is also there and likely to stifle anything they might try. At one point there was some fear as the Terrorists manage to throw a burning powder in Mollock’s face. Everyone was expecting Mollock to go wild but Terak has done a great job of taming him. Mollock calmly accepts treatment and a wet towel is wrapped around his face. Meanwhile the Creeper almost beats Drac twice. After ELIMINATOR and later Creeper Grip it was just one number away on a low dice roll each time. Inevitably Drac gets the upper hand after this but loses by disqualification on account of the actions of the Terrorists.

Latest News:
After the big fail that was BADGE OF GLORY the GWF cancels it’s next PPV slot. They are losing too much money which is mega worrying. CPC is winning big. Replacing the event will be a CPC show. GWF has instead arranged a low budget event called MILKY WAY MADNESS which will be free to air.
The network still wanted a PPV and approached Colby and Pelf about doing something. With the ball in their court the CPC uses the slot for another big budget event called COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION. Main event will be a lumberjack match with Chaos defending the CPC Heavyweight Belt against the winner of THE COLBY CUP. This is a CPC only tournament also happening next month. The identities of the CPC lumberjacks are being kept secret (so there can be no tampering). The lumberjacks on the side of Chaos are weak. He will have to make do with Theatre of Pain and the Upstart Punks on his side. With Reynard B. Guile also being invited to the match as a guest timekeeper the odds are stacked. Is funny to see B. Guile carrying out lowly jobs though. Just a few months acting as CPC Commissioner and now he is timekeeping and managing Dynamo. Maybe next up he’ll be sweeping corridors or become the janitor. But as long as his bank balance is bulging he’ll do whatever he is told.
Splatter takes his new feud with the Champions team into the event with his buddy, Mad Jester. It seems as if just about everyone in the GWF has feuded with this mad man at some point or another! When they’ve teamed together in the past they are often called simply the Outsiders. But in reference to their new security roles and the fact they are both loose cannons they have been nicknamed ‘Insecurity’. Splatter should of been suspended but Commissioner Grogan announced a meagre 2 card suspension for his brutal lottery attack on Colussus. In a shoddy twist Grogan said Splatter was given the option to pay a large fine to make the suspension lighter. Which he took but given his known living conditions one has to wonder where he got the money from. Colby and Pelf I guess. Again shady as the fine they have paid for him just goes back into their pockets. It’s all a sham. The biggest victim is Colussus. He had just beaten Paragon. A massive boost to jolt his ailing career and hopefully lift his dark mood. But he’s now in a an even darker place. Especially as there was no help from his team. Although the only silver lining is Paragon has dropped even lower. On a terrible losing run which must be causing both him and the CPC embarrassment. Can he recover from this?
BOG title shots got cashed in which p*sses off the legitimate top contenders. This was especially the case in the tag division where a few teams felt they had a greater right than Rebel Empire who had already received and failed with a title shot as recently as GALACTICON. Perhaps poetic justice when they then went and bombed again in their title shot.
In an interesting move Mandrill speaks highly of Chaos. Says he admires how Chaos is standing up for the GWF within the CPC and holding their belt. Of course reading between the lines he hopes Chaos will be distracted by this and clearing a path for him to challenge for the GWF Heavyweight belt. He is hellbent on conquering the GWF and becoming the undisputed villain leader. For Mandrill there is no interest in starting a war with the CPC until this goal has been fully achieved. But it did take another setback as Rebel Empire once again failed to win the tag belts and now tumble right out of contention.
One of the most intriguing feuds going on at the moment is between Transevolver and FDF as Dreadnaught reignites the Earth-Cygnus rivalry. It’s not gone too well for the FDF so far but Commander Sam defiantly proclaims we won’t back down. Dreadnaught finds it funny that Sam is so willing to continue having felt GUIDED MISSILE twice in the last month as the action goes beyond the ring “I’ll happily give him another. It’s just like old times”.
Looks like the GWF has caved in and pushed Pegasus high up the card again. Worried about rumours they could end up losing him to the CPC. So he is suddenly being thrust into a title shot against Wolf. The classic hero against hero battle. It should be the talk of the wrestling media but it has been just thrown together at short notice. Hopefully they will give us all a match to remember.
INJURED – Dreggs (2), Vengeance (2), Terminus (3), Colussus (6), Star Warrior (?); SUSPENDED – Splatter (1)
SUDDEN DEATH SCORING … GLADIATORS 28-24 WAR …This was getting closer until the last show. Despite the internal problems Raven has led by example. His defeat of Vengeance in the Torture Chamber absolutely crucial or his team may well of been already cooked. It’s still a tall order for them but they still have a fighting chance. But injury to Dreggs won’t help them. In a strange way Raven was relieved the Gladiators didn’t get any suspensions for roughing up Dreggs. It would only reduce the chances for WAR to make up more ground.
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
WOLF – unbelievable month from Wolf. Challengers in all directions but he saw them all off to remain champion. But he has never been driven by belts. A nice accessory for sure but his focus is totally on winning the special matches challenge with Terminus. He’s just one match away from doing it.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
TRANSEVOLVER – not something the UFSP will be encouraging but the Earth-Cygnus rivalry is back on the map. In a mouth watering feud between Transevolver and FDF. First blood to Transevolver so far. They were in devastating form and richly deserved the monthly award. Particularly Dreadnaught.
