CARD 949 – MILKY WAY MADNESS – LUNA AUDITORIUM:
Drama away from the ring. Darkos receives intelligence that the Terrorists plan to attack his wrestlers during the show. Manslaughter acts a decoy. Allowing them to stalk him to a secluded corridor. After the attack they rip off his mask only to discover it wasn’t even him under that mask. Darkos paid a local bodybuilder handsomely to take the hit. By the time they realised all members of the Masked Assassins were safely away from the venue having romped through their match. As for the show, well it didn’t go well. TV ratings were down by half. There were cutting remarks by GWI.com over the illogical bookings too. The only positive spin can be put on it was a decent couple of matches but it’s clear many fans are waiting for the CPC event to get their wrestling fix.
Wolf and Pegasus ends disappointing double DQ in a match where the Heavyweight belt was on the line. On paper a dream match between the two most popular heroes but in reality it’s all a bit desperate and forced together by the GWF. This is the sort of match that should be headlining a GALACTICON but instead it gets booked last minute with very little build up. A compilation of both plays on the giant screen showing some of their great historic moments. Gets a muted response from the crowd but the noise lifts when the two heroes eventually come out. Pegasus does his best work the crowd and it works pretty well. But it will not be lost on him that the bigger response is reserved for when Wolf rushes out. It’s still pretty clear who is the top dog among the heroes. Pegasus just shakes his head and rests against the turnbuckle waiting for everything to calm down. When the bell finally signals it begins a decent enough match. But for some reason it lacks that x-factor. Not a huge deal happening but Pegasus having a couple of pin attempts. Wolf looking a tad sluggish. As if all the exertions of the previous month might be finally catching up with him. Under pressure Wolf rolls outside. He wants a brawl and Pegasus indulges him. Bad move and perhaps if Star Warrior had been ringside and not watching from hospital he could of stopped Pegasus. Once began there was no way Wolf was going to hold back whilst Pegasus always prides himself on excelling in areas and that includes being able to brawl. As the fighting smashes through a row of droids all in sleep mode and sends parts scattering the ref is left with no choice. A collective groan through the crowd as the bell sounds. An even bigger one when the double DQ verdict is announced. One fan then starts a chant “rematch, rematch” but nobody joins in. The embarrassed chap quickly stops and tries to pretend that didn’t happen. Where does Pegasus go from here? Hopefully not back down the mid-card but he might need to wait it out until Wolf drops the title. Unfortunately Pegasus needs to be in the title picture to stay relevant. Wolf certainly doesn’t. He fits into any scenario. Bringing something to any feud he gets involved in.
Amazonia quickly ends the reign of Ms. Liberty to become new Ladies champ. When Thrash learned she wouldn’t be receiving an immediate rematch with Ms. Liberty she angrily shouted that she would be heading to GWF HQ to bash some heads and make them see sense. Copped an immediate fine and rankings penalty. The biggest beneficiary is her great rival Amazonia who now gets a chance to win the belt. Feels like she’s been out the title spotlight a long time. Ms. Liberty gives Amazonia a hug but it’s only partially reciprocated. Amazonia’s eyes are on the belt and like Wolf she is a bit of a loose cannon. Nobody was giving Ms. Liberty too much chance of continuing her reign. However she gives it a real go. Rocking Amazonia with a Patriot Missile but immediately proceeding this makes a mess of a sunset flip. Amazonia pins her and although it’s not the big move she prefers to end things on she’ll take it. It means she’s the champion again and might shut all the people up who keep saying Thrash has now overtaken her as the top female.
New Order against Thunder and Overkill ends time limit draw. Mace is still kranky. In fact the way he has been with Dreggs has almost been bordering on hatred but Raven is trying to get him channeling his anger outwards towards the Gladiators. But it didn’t help much when Mace didn’t join his partner ringside for the last show and it allowed the Gladiators to rough Dreggs up and cause injury for this match. Not that it slowed him too much. Dreggs fought well. In fact New Order, for all their problems, looked good throughout. Thunder took both TWIST AND SHOUT and also MACE’S LITTLE HELPER in short order but all the big moves remained on ice. The match then started stumbling along very evenly. It was going a long time but then confusion as the bell goes off. Then uproar. The ring announcer advises the time limit had expired and declared a draw. If it had been a theatre show he’d of been pelted with rotten tomatoes by the crowd. Dud.
Rebel Empire and Painmaster down Frozen Fury and Wraith in 6 man tag. It is clear that Genesis is well on top of this feud. The Colonizers have been giving it everything to get the Tag and IP belts off them but so far have failed miserably. Winning this won’t fix that but will be some much needed bragging rights. After a few minutes back and forth Rebel Empire manages to cut Buck Steele off and put him in peril. Nefarus uses SCISSORDRIVER on him. Vertigo knows there is no guarantee of Genocide spawning and tries a distraction. But is downed by Sentry’s stun gun. It’s all a well executed plan as both Vendetta and Painmaster now rush round the apron to occupy both Wraith and Blizzard. Sentry has plenty of ammo and fires beams at them too to further distract. Blizzard only just ducked out the way. There is nobody to save Buck and he is pinned. The Genesis trio went down pretty weakly there. At least they still have all the belts.
Masked Assassins sweep the Fighting Titans in a Battlezone match. Singles guys excluded. The reason for Manslaughter’s absence later becomes clear. Becomes a disaster for the Titans. This is how it went down … Lycosa beats Scion Nexus in a brilliant opener. At first looked like it’d be a walkover for Lycosa as he hits Scion with his whole repertoire. But he cannot finish it. Scion clings on and starts to comeback. A memorable spot sees him pushed off the turnbuckle in trying THE RISE AND FALL but dodging the subsequent Lycosa deathjump. Worryingly the time limit was getting close and would of meant eliminating both but Lycosa gives one last push. A dramatic splash outside the ring connects and he rolls Scion in the ring. With Scion on 7 tokens by this stage there was no surviving this. But Lycosa has a few himself and will struggle to go much beyond this match … Lycosa easily knocks off Rising Sun. Outstanding from Lycosa. The long previous match seemingly no effect. In mostly total control and winning with BLACK WIDOW’S BITE. The Masked Assassins threatening to sweep this. Especially with the weaker Titan guys anchoring … Lycosa plucks the feathers of Talon. Easiest match yet. Once again BLACK WIDOW’S BITE puts the seal on it … Lycosa beats Dragonmaster by DQ. Finally some fight from a Titan. Dragonmaster prepared to get his hands dirty and came close to beating Lycosa with COBRA NERVE STOPPER and also a Titan Drop which was ruined by a Darkos distraction. Sadly he fell foul of going too hardcore. Drawing on his ‘inner Pit Viper’ during an out of ring excursion. His manager, Lord Nexus, is a great man but maybe he could of tried a distraction himself. Unfortunately sometimes he is just too moral and passive. DM gets disqualified and it brings down the curtain on one of the worst nights in Titan history. Daeman, Hydrax and Enigma saw no action.
Vyper humiliated Heracles. Nothing behind this other than being a rankings match. Vyper came close to winning the Heavyweight belt last month and wants to keep himself highly ranked. He’s still pulling the circus act with the snakes though. Seeing if Heracles has a hidden fear. Thrusting Zelda towards him. Heracles backs away but then grabs Anaxis as a human shield. Zelda wraps around Anaxis who promptly feints. Even Vyper thinks this has gone too far and immediately gathers the snake. More bad publicity for Heracles for doing this to a woman but he doesn’t care. He’s the ultimate chauvinist. Hard to decipher why he keeps on doing it. Even many fellow villains dislike the way he behaves in this respect although must be said his closest ally, Chaos, doesn’t care. As long he is being supported by Heracles then can do what he wants. Anyway Heracles shows no concern for Anaxis and gets right after Vyper who was still packing Zelda into the bag. Heracles brutally kicks the bag from the ring and unloads on Vyper. However he doesn’t reckon on Vyper’s intensity. Especially when he has seen his beloved pet mistreated. Vyper responds and blows Heracles away. Takes a lot of work. VYPER’S SIDESHOW twice wasn’t enough but eventually a Predator Pounce gets Heracles pinned. Perhaps Heracles now regrets pulling an action to make Anaxis feint because there was no distracting anyone. Vyper thinks about letting Zelda slither over his beaten foe but his pet has been stressed enough tonight. He has one last act. After calling Heracles nothing but an oversized snake himself he fetches a bucket of ice cold water to tip over Anaxis and bring her round. An act that caused great hilarity.
Monad beats US. Patriot. An offshoot from the FDF-Transevolver feud. Sure the more logical booking would of been Adam against Dreadnaught. Especially as the venue is only a stone’s throw from Earth. It is what it is though. Adam feels the home support and makes a high energy start. But that soon stops after getting caught in a double armed clothesline. Monad unloads a few of these plus a Quadrasuplex to put Adam in trouble. Only to hose up a rope related move and almost get pinned after a sunset flip and then ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST. Doomsayer drives the local crowd crazy as he interferes both times. The second of which allowed Monad to recover and flatten Adam from behind. Downhill after that. Commander Sam struggles to be as influential as Doomsayer. Sees his man get weakened with QUADRUPLE CLAMP and SURFBOARD SUBMISSION. Sam then shouts ‘nooooo’ as Adam takes a double barrel sledgehammer and is unable to kickout in time. Angered by the outcome and all the shenanigans Sam invades the ring. The locals cheer as he smashed Monad with the American flag pole. Doomsayer gets too near and he took a whack too. Justified as revenge by Sam who keeps laying the boot in and Adam wilfully joins him upon recovery. Not in his character but the crowd eggs him on. End result is a 2 card injury to Monad and further inflammation of this feud.
Karah defeated an angry Kati by DQ. We all thought Kati was long gone but he’s still knocking around. He has some history with the Savage Kingdom and isn’t a big fan of Terak so a chance to knock off the youngster gives him great motivation. He even makes sure to ‘accidentally on purpose’ clatter into Terak on route to the steps. Kati cannot understand the crowd heat. Moans in broken English “I’m not an ogre. They should support me. I am a hero back on Samoa”. He goes onto batter Karah but loses his rag when Terak managed to distract after SAMOAN REVENGE. Rather than carry on to an inevitable victory he decides to try and assault Terak with a chair. But quickly drops it when the huge Mollock emerges out the shadows. Enough to put the fear of god into anybody.

CARD 950 – DEIMOS INTERGALACTIC ARENA:
Ninja Assassins in amazing form to beat Frozen Fury and win the tag straps. You cannot keep a good team down. All the plaudits may be for Assassin Air Raid but the Ninjas blew away the high flying Titan Fury last month and have been immense on the dark show circuit. But would they be able to cope here? They’ve never encountered anything like Frozen Fury before. But maybe now is a good time to face them. The Genesis duo licking their wounds after being part of a bad loss to the Colonizers in 6 man tag. The Ninjas prey upon this brilliantly. Blizzard is the targeted fall guy. After attempting FROSTBITE on Daeman he totally loses a grip. Gets overwhelmed in a brawl and then hit with numerous swiftly deployed finishers including DOUBLE EDGE SWORD twice. Vertigo helps out as best he can but IRON HAND finished him and the belts are lost. The defeat triggers a frustrated reaction in Buck Steele that spawns Genocide. Usually it’s pain that is the trigger but this is an emotional response. He hones in on Hydrax who starts shaking like a leaf when cornered. It’s all a ruse. As he begs off desperately Genocide hesitates and looks over at Vertigo for approval to rip this guy apart. That was all Hydrax needed. A swift kick to the groin can bring even the biggest beast down and Genocide is no exception. Not exactly a martial arts move or something their legendary trainer Makiwara would approve of. But the Ninja Assassins are able to escape safely with their newly acquired titles. Genocide can barely catch his breathe and after a couple minutes shrinks back into Buck. Looking very sorry for himself. Bad couple of weeks for Genesis.
Interplanetary champ, Wraith, struggles to a DQ win over Draconian Sheik. Believe it or not but Drac has history with this belt having held it before. Not one of the most loved champions that’s for sure but it’s in the books. Word is that several belts had to be remade when he was the holder. Drac used to spend many a night either gnawing away at the fabric and metal or trying to attack it when he caught sight of his reflection in it. When he sees Wraith wearing it though it’s as if he has never seen it before. Seems entranced as the precious metal glistens under the arena lights. The Terrorists have to force him into the ring as he tries to follow it over to the announcer’s table. The biggest distraction comes from Wraith though as he thunders into him. Drac instinctively fights him back and forgets about the big shiny thing on the table now. He gives Wraith probably his toughest defence yet. At one point using DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. The momentum goes back and forth. The Terrorists know the prize on offer and do their best to curtail Drac’s wildness but alas he goes crazy outside the ring and got disqualified. A relieved Wraith grabs his belt and uses his invisibility to forge a safe path to the back. Vertigo also able to avoid confrontation via his quickness as he zipped past the enraged Terrorists in a blur.
Alpha Force pounds Paragon. Thantos calls this place a dump and can’t wait to get back to the protected bubble of Pelf Palace. Paragon unhappy too as is used to being spoon fed in the CPC but recognises he still has to be active at GWF venues, especially Deimos, to be a contender for both Heavyweight belts. So despite the lack of pampering his head is screwed on with the priority being to break the losing run and get his mojo back. Alpha Force vows to make life tough for them “if Paragon thinks I am over the hill and ready to give him a rankings boost he is very much mistaken”. Due to Star Warrior’s hospitalisation Commander Sam is trying to help the Champions team out here and there so he accompanies Alpha Force. Paragon is laying it on pretty thick on sight of Sam saying that wasn’t part of the contact and that he needs to leave. As the ref, Sam, Thantos and Paragon argue the matter in the centre of the ring Alpha Force tires of waiting. He grabs Paragon from behind giving him no choice but to start. Everyone scarpers and Sam sheepishly stays ringside but tries to stay inconspicuous. From that moment Paragon never really gets it together. Alpha Force rarely relaxed and rattled him early with ALPHA STRIKE. A very brief moment of offence from Paragon is ended when he bodged a deathjump. Alpha Force didn’t hold back too much longer. Smashes Paragon’s jaw with TOMAHAWK THRUST and pins him. Thantos stayed pretty static. As if expecting some kind of recovery which of course never happened. He grimaces as the bell sounds to confirm defeat. For the first time Thantos is beginning to feel some pressure though. Paragon keeps on losing (that’s 6 without a win) and with only one belt sitting in the Penthouse Suite it seems he’s lost his Midas touch.
Archon and Wolf beat Blazing Skull and Mayhem with surprising ease. Interesting combination as Archon and Wolf are like chalk and cheese. But the GWF thought it would be a good draw and convinced them to team and face common enemies. Neither looked particularly enthused. Another talking point was Mayhem teaming with another villain despite being a current WAR member. But once a villain always a villain and feuding with Wolf will always be a constant. Poor Archon really is the odd one out but despite all the brawling and provocation stays true to his values. All this despite Vanity on colour commentary joking this would the match where Archon finds his ‘inner hardcore’. Although Archon and Blazing Skull start things off the match quickly becomes a personal battle between Wolf and Mayhem. Their war goes in and out of the ring with Maleph trying to be a nuisance. But nobody can seem to stop the champ these days. Ultimately Wolf gets a tight grip with SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Not letting go this time after Maleph had earlier successfully disrupted the hold. Mayhem struggled desperately but cannot break free and yields to the move. Archon wanting to avoid any afters and after a quick thumbs up to Wolf departs. Wolf left outnumbered but he can look after himself and comes to no harm. His opponents look a bit too shellshocked to do anything to him.
Skinhead defeated Wildcat by DQ. Whilst it’s always great to see Wildcat in action some fans are wondering on the future of the Hunter’s Moon tag team. Not wrestled much to raise concerns this promising tag team is finished. Truth is the unexpected singles form of Vyper is why the team is on the back burner but the longterm plan is to continue and make a concerted effort to win the tag belts. But that is Terak talking. Hopefully it proves to be the case. Anyway in the match Wildcat struggled but once again showed his now legendary endurance. Taking so much punishment that he was at 7 tokens by the end. Even then he wasn’t beaten by pin fall. The manner of his defeat actually a DQ of his own making. Finding himself outside the ring and next to Johnny Rocket. As Wildcat struggled to get up Johnny leans over him with the mic and abuses him. But Wildcat was more able bodied than expected. Johnny gets a shock as Wildcat suddenly springs up and fast as lightening dropkicks him into the announcer’s table. Post match antics see Wildcat dare Johnny Rocket to get his wrestling leotard on “if he thinks I am so pathetic and useless then maybe he’ll have no problem stepping in the ring with me”. Watch this space.
Anaxis overcame Ms. Liberty. Likely the winner of this will get the next title shot at Amazonia. The crowd takes great joy in making hissing sounds aimed at Anaxis. Her feinting incident on the last show brought upon by the snake providing such ammunition. Fair play that she is professional enough to ignore it. Although she also ignores some sympathetic fans big on equality who urge her to leave the pig that is Heracles. Becomes a really good match up. Ms. Liberty loads of energy at start. Anaxis stems the flow and Ms. Liberty expected to fizzle out but it wasn’t the case. She makes several comebacks and could easily of won on another night. Anaxis really had to work hard but eventually a Grecian Sleeper Grip gets it won.

PARAGON SUMMARY
I don’t normally keep detailed win-loss records. Once upon a time I did but it proved lots of extra work so generally I just play and go with flow. Don’t even rank wrestlers. My top contenders just determined by a feel for what’s going on. That said I thought I would summarise Paragon so far. In my eyes one of the biggest newcomers of all time and to say it makes sorry reading is an understatement. It started pretty good as he went 6 match win streak in singles matches. But his overall of 7-6 (plus 1 match abandoned/drawn) is not the return the CPC had expected.
#916 def. US. Patriot (wins CPC Heavyweight belt) #919 def. Blazing Skull #921 def. Alpha Force by count-out #923 def. Heracles #931 lost to New Order and Raven (6 man tag w/ CPC Rising) #932 def. Dynamo #934 def. Dark Justice (Battlezone) #934 lost to Pegasus (Battlezone) #935 def. Jack of Diamonds #936 lost to Chaos #938 drew Chaos (match abandoned) #941 lost to Chaos (loses CPC Heavyweight belt) #944 lost to Pegasus #947 lost to Colussus #950 lost to Alpha Force

I love reading people’s W/L records. That first Paragon underperformed for a lot of people. I think due to the finisher? He also wasn’t around for a long time. Mike’s new Centra version of him is very good. Much better card.

I think you're right on the finisher. Just one instance of it on the card and it's not reliable enough. His ropes rating hurts him too. It's still a good card but just not on the level of Chaos (even without the Alpha Stone) and Pegasus.

CARD 951 – THE COLBY CUP – PELF PALACE:
Pilot featuring only CPC guys. Colby and Pelf may be splitting their sides over the BOG farce but it’s not lost on them how important ONLY THE BEST is. They want a slice of the pie (and all the cash that goes with it) so plans were being secretly made until Reynard B. Guile let the cat out of the bag. No doubt with his diminishing role he’ll be no longer privy to such inside info and kept well out the loop going forward. Anyway here is the first ever COLBY CUP. Only a singles bracket for now but this could expand if they decide to press ahead. The winner will receive a title shot at the very next event which is the inaugural COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION. The other difference is that all are regular matches so DQ outcomes entirely possible but there will be no managers. The reason is because it keeps the format just different enough that the GWF cannot sue them for copying their idea. Other notes are that Terminus misses out through injury thanks to Wolf. Whilst Dynamo was completely overlooked. Monad is also injured but is still capable of wrestling. Left 9 entrants which forced a qualifying match for the unlucky pair that were drawn. That’s a potential 4 match slog if one of them goes all the way.
Qualifier:
Splatter eliminated Monad. As the unlucky pair forced to qualify there is very little chance of either one of them winning this thing. Splatter didn’t take too kindly to Monad picking Arsenal up after he had carefully placed it in one of the corners. As he tries to retrieve his club Monad passes it around from arm to arm like some kind of school ground game a bully might play. Monad might live to regret that. With the injury he is carrying he doesn’t want to be risking worse by p*ssing Splatter off. Anyway he eventually tosses the club and at first is dominating the match. But Splatter still ends up retrieving it and battered Monad with MEET ARSENAL to qualify for the tournament proper. Not quite what the doctor ordered for Monad given his fragility. Splatter thought about continuing the attack but catches sight of Commissioner Grogan in the gallery who shakes his head disapprovingly.
First Round:
Prodigy wins a great contest with Mad Jester. Prodigy has a new motorbike which he rides carefully but proudly to the ring. A gift from Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf for doing such a good job with the Cruiserweight title. It inspires him to a great performance. Rising above Jester’s unpredictable antics to win with THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER. Took a few of them but got it done in the end. Jester refuses to leave after it was done. Slipping back into his security guard role which he takes very seriously. He stands at ringside throughout all the remaining matches and almost starts a brawl several times.
Matador of M83 defeats Bishop Hell by DQ. If Bishop Hell can resist igniting his hand this could be a really good match between two guys with excellent technical skills. The Matador has more to lose. He is expected to win and probably the favourite to win the cup. The Bishop hopes complacency will set in. He also knows if he wins then it’s Prodigy next and that presents a very good chance of further progression. The other side of the draw looks decidedly tougher. He flies out the blocks and totally surprises the Matador but ends up disqualified. All happens within the first minute. Hit the Matador with FLYING CROSS. Of course it’s going to take much more than that so when the Matador gets up blasts him with HELLFIRE but there is very little attempt to conceal it and so the DQ occurs. As the Bishop slumps to his knees in frustration Mad Jester cackles at his misfortune which nearly causes a ruckus.
Splatter bloodied Dreadnaught. Monad’s elimination squashed the chance that partners could face off. Relief for Doomsayer as that could of triggered the break up of Transevolver. Dreadnaught is hugely motivated. Aside from the pursuit of glory he was a victim in the past of one of Splatter’s lottery attacks. Long before the CPC but something he has never forgotten. If recalled it was a particularly brutal one that injured him for months. But there is no revenge to be had. Splatter absorbs some early bombardment and then conducts a violent wave of L3O. Batters Dreadnaught with MEET ARSENAL. No pin so onto THE SHREDDER. Again no pin but Splatter repeats the sequence and this time there is no surviving. Dreadnaught had to go for treatment immediately after and vociferously complains whilst being attended about Splatter was allowed to use his club twice with no DQ. Doomsayer tries his best to hush him. He knows no good will come of criticising the hierarchy. As an additional note I was set a bit of a poser at the end. The roll came up 13 which means lottery attack. I seriously considered rolling out a post match attack on Dreadnaught because of it but then decided against it. The nature of the attack is to surprise people and doesn’t apply when Splatter is actually wrestling in the match himself. Plus the logistics of injuries and possible suspension to Splatter disrupting the tournament and/or its outcome meant just best to move along. Of course if the lottery roll comes up on any other matches not involving Splatter then it’s all on!
Paragon squashed Janus. Fair to say that Janus was rubbing his hands together. A chance to take down the new top guy and get his star on the rise again. Paragon was not too happy with the draw. A sterner test than he wanted but to be honest whoever he got would of been tough. There’s very few weak spots on the CPC roster. His ultimate goal was to win just so he can face Chaos again. The actual belt now not so important to him. Just to beat him and exorcise some demons. But he needn’t of worried. It was amazing how easy he made it look. Casually swatted Janus away and booked his place in the next round within just 5 moves. Let’s call that about a minute of action. Catches Janus in a Whirlybird Backbreaker and then puts him through the mat with a Big Man choke slam. In the space of one match Paragon has put himself back on the map.
Second Round:
Prodigy upsets Matador of M83. Even though two of his own guys are squaring off Thantos looks very relaxed. Safe in the knowledge that at least one Penthouse Suite member would be in the final. Rumours of him being under pressure from his employers might be overblown. Especially those that say his future management of the team is under threat. However there is no doubt some pressure does exist to bring the gold back. He has set such high standards so to only possess the Cruiserweight belt is not really good enough. It becomes another sublime performance from Prodigy as he upsets his legendary opponent. He’d come close with it earlier in the contest but a second stab with THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER gets a memorable win. But then disaster as Splatter enters the ring waving around Arsenal. He’s been like a ticking time bomb. It was only a matter of time. Prodigy mouths “oh no” as Splatter moves towards him. The club comes down hard. The attack is allowed to happen but as lottery attacks go it’s not one of the most brutal. A few strikes but still enough to leave Prodigy bleeding. Prodigy’s involvement in the final now up in the air. Speculation that Splatter may of been ordered to ‘take care’ of the winner to smooth Paragon’s passage to victory. Ironically Splatter will be facing Paragon next. No action to be taken on Splatter for doing this.
Splatter stunned Paragon. With Splatter in such a destructive mood this would be the last thing the CPC hierarchy might want, their main man Paragon taking him on. Surely Splatter would be under instruction not to injure him but there is a lot of unpredictability about his nature and willingness to follow instructions. Paragon starts really well with his power standing him in good stead. But he failed with an early opportunity to use FINAL OVERTURE. That near miss galvanised Splatter and using his brawling nature manages to get outside the ring and get the upper hand. Shockingly he nails Paragon with MEET ARSENAL and the ref missed it. He’d fallen over outside the ring trying to get the action back in. By the time he’d clambered back in the fatal blow had already occurred. The VIPs fume as Paragon is pinned. Wouldn’t want to now be in that poor ref’s shoes. Surely will get his marching orders over this. But with the eyes of the cosmos all over this there was no way the outcome could reversed or twisted in Paragon’s favour. Too blatant favouritism. Everyone would just have to take this on the chin. Who would of thought the final would end up being Prodigy, who can barely walk, facing Splatter.
Final:
Prodigy somehow goes through the pain barrier to beat Splatter. Given what happened a short while ago some fans applaud Prodigy for coming out. He has an immediate chance for revenge but surely stands no chance after the earlier beating. Indeed the way Splatter starts suggests this will be over very fast. But Prodigy survives THE SHREDDER twice and then suddenly turned it all around as Splatter went for a deathjump and got suplexed off. Prodigy knows it’s now or never before his ravaged body gives up the ghost. He goes for THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER not once, not twice but three times. It is enough to stun Splatter long enough to be pinned. Incredibly Prodigy wins and will now face old team mate and leader Chaos for the CPC Heavyweight belt to add try and to his Cruiserweight belt. He is a massive underdog for the match but if he can do something like this then you just never know. Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf come down to the ring to make the presentation. Splatter stands and watches. Wondering how he might react but the proximity of his employers seems to keep him in check. Prodigy gratefully accepts the expensive diamond encrusted cup, tosses it on the back of his gleaming new motorbike and burns off down the carpeted runway for a spectacular exit.

CARD 952 – COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION – PELF PALACE:
GWF cancelled the planned PPV due to financial issues. CPC was offered the slot and in something of a ‘holy crap’ moment Colby hastily arranges a show he calls COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION. He continues his high and mighty attitude by proclaiming the name signifies the path the GWF is on. It becomes the birth of what in time will become the organisation’s most famed and long running event. But that’s the future. In the present the magnitude of it catches the GWF off guard. They had no idea the CPC would get something so big together in such a short time and steal their thunder. Colby and Pelf are busy counting the cash in the aftermath whilst the GWF HQ resembles a toxic environment as they deal with the shock. There are arguments everywhere and they desperately need an authority figure to steady the ship. Solaris has been the most common frontman this year but his interest is more on Kronos projects. At the moment he is being accused of burying his head in the sand.
Prodigy shocks Chaos to win the CPC Heavyweight belt in a Hydra Lumberjack match. Not looking good for Chaos as he surveys his lumberjacks. None are likely to help him out as Theatre of Pain and the Upstart Punks emerge and take their place on his side. The mystery lumberjacks then come out and it is shocking. An array of guys from his past Scourge, the Matador, Janus but the most shocking was Mandrill. Chaos stares open mouthed at Mandrill. Had he joined the CPC? Mandrill pipes up “I know what you’re thinking and the answer is no. But they offered me a lot of money”. Quite a cast of lumberjacks but would they be able to help enough? Remember that Prodigy is badly hobbled by injuries. Plus Chaos, even accounting for all that, sees no possible way that this ‘little runt’ can ever beat him. As Chaos looks down on Prodigy during the ref instructions Thantos briefly appears at ringside and urges Chaos to do the right thing “join the CPC before it’s too late”. He then heads up towards the gallery to watch this all play out. Chaos is not in the mood for all this and stomps over to where all the enemy lumberjacks are and just wipes them out. The element of surprise on his side. They’d never expected him to be so bold. Chaos stands over the rope surveying the scene and calls them all pathetic. Prodigy tries to take advantage and floor Chaos with a dropkick from behind but he only half goes over the rope before steadying himself. Manages to turn and grabs Prodigy by the throat and pushes him all the way back to the turnbuckle. It’s now all on. The lumberjacks are all now on their feet and menacingly stalking like sharks. It’s like infested water out there. All the while the Upstart Punks and Theatre of Pain have barely moved a muscle. As he turns to remonstrate with his lumberjacks Prodigy strikes again. This time it rattles Chaos and he has a couple of pin attempts. Finally some help for Chaos as Tragedy enters but he quickly gets floored by Prodigy. But it allows Chaos to comeback and it is assumed now he will start to dismantle Prodigy. He tried BOW OF DEFEAT but Prodigy managed to slip out of it so Chaos thinking his lumberjacks are now on side throws Prodigy out to them. But again very little. His frustration grows but then a pivotal moment as Mandrill slides into the ring armed with a chair and smashes it across his back. Chaos goes down hard. It gives Prodigy time to get back in and set himself up. He patiently waits for Chaos to get up. As soon as he does he flies at him with a springboard dropkick that couldn’t of connected any sweeter. Wasting no time Prodigy slides in for another pin attempt and benefits from a pretty fast count from the ref. The unthinkable has happened as Prodigy even with all his injury problems has dethroned Chaos. Never saw this coming when the month began. The whole gallery applauds Prodigy who is now a double champion. Chaos recovers and points an accusing finger at Mandrill but stops short of starting any kind of attack. He knows he is hopelessly outnumbered. Prodigy celebrates the biggest moment in his career but then gets a rude shock. As he triumphantly walks the carpeted runway and disappears out of view a loud bang is suddenly heard followed by black smoke. What happened there? The expletives heard from Prodigy suggest whatever it is was an instant mood killer.
Theatre of Pain defeated Transevolver to win the CPC Tag belts. Interesting rise to prominence for Theatre of Pain. Often seen as part-timers but now stepping up their activities. They have a pretty decent record and will be no walkover for Transevolver. Whilst Tragedy displays a melancholy and cruel persona Comedy is full of excitement. Bundles of energy and throwing smoke bombs at Doomsayer to keep him moving. Doomsayer snidely remarks “sorry I never took a crash course in dealing with idiots. Stop your tomfoolery or you’ll wind up as a guinea pig in my lab”. Dreadnaught, in pretty hot form, starts the defence and it quickly becomes clear this is not going to be easy but he puts his team on top and hands off to Monad. A tactical move to try and use his devastating offence but Monad totally drops the ball and gets into huge trouble. Hit with SHAKESPEARE and heavily reliant on Dreadnaught’s intervention. He gets away with that one but not when Tragedy soon after goes for TEAR JERKER. Dreadnaught got floored by Comedy preventing a pin save and then linked with Tragedy to double team Monad and make a bad situation worse. Monad is easily pinned as a result and the belts are lost. Probably not the preferred outcome for the CPC but at least the loss wasn’t to a GWF tag team. Surely Colby and Pelf will be handing Theatre of Pain full time contracts in 2107 after they pulled this off.
Colussus is outstanding in dealing with Dark Justice to capture the CPC Interstellar belt. Is this a genuine recognition of Colussus or just an attempt by the CPC to tap him up? Either way it’s a sad state of affairs for him. Injuries still weighting him down from the lottery attack. Plus when you think a few years ago he used to be in the Heavyweight belt playground and now here he was clutching at an inferior belt. The other worry was whether he’d be targeted again either by Splatter or even the Mercenaries. He is ill prepared both mentally and physically. Seems that the CPC is preying on his insecurities. But despite all that he comes through this examination with flying colours. Dealing with the Mercenaries and just giving Dark Justice no respite. Hit him countless times with CYBORG DEATHBLOW. Justice took as many as he could but eventually stayed down for good and the belt changed hands. Colussus was happy to win it but got pretty ticked off the next day. Posted a pic of him wearing the belt on his Spacebook account. When he only got a few likes and just a spattering of comments he added to the post “what’s the matter with all you people? I deserve greater recognition”.
CPC Ladies champ, Supernova, dazzles in her beating of Thrash. CPC preys upon GWF vulnerability. As soon as Thrash got denied a title rematch a minion was sent to offer her a shot at the CPC ladies belt. Aethrans always enjoy domination wherever it is and so Thrash accepted. But they will never be drawn on their future and pledge allegiance to nothing. The first spot is Supernova trying to catch Thrash as she climbed through the ropes. Cartwheeling towards her but Thrash easily brushes the attack away. Follows up by grabbing Supernova by the hair and yelling to the gallery “this is how you deal with a jumping bean that won’t wrestle properly”. Then plants Supernova face first into the canvas. But she doesn’t reckon on Supernova’s new found harder edge. All the traumas of the last few months have given her an inner strength and a rebellious streak. She takes the early savagery and explodes back at Thrash. It’s the sort of high energy attack that an Aethran would be proud of as Supernova hits wave after wave culminating in SPEED OF LIGHT. A truly brilliant performance that even has Colby and Pelf begrudgingly applauding.
Wolf beats Terminus again this time in a Barbed Wire Cage match. 5-3 at the moment to Wolf. Final match still awaits and it’s the dreaded Torture Chamber but before that it’s the Barbed Cage and sure to inflict more injuries on the unlucky loser. Terminus shudders at the sight. In the last 4 Weapons match the barbed turnbuckle was very pivotal in his downfall. As always Wolf runs to the cage. He cannot get enough of all this and excitedly climbs partially up the outside to violently shake the cage structure. Not caring that the barbed sides were already cutting his hands to ribbons. As soon he is able to enter he is straight upon Terminus to put his face into the side. Splat! Terminus is opened up almost immediately and looking very subdued. But then like a delayed fuse he suddenly explodes into action and does the same to Wolf. Some of their blood spatters over horrified VIP guests in the front row. One lady screams that her frock is ruined but is soon calmed down when a minion of Colby and Pelf is despatched and hands her an envelope. The contents of which make her eyes light up. Back to the match and it’s one for strong stomachs. Both guys obsessed by using the barbs to their advantage. It goes on longer than these matches traditionally do. Usually heavy blood loss brings someone to their knees quickly. However both have a great determination to hang on. Their hatred of each other fuelling the desire to win. But this is Wolf’s speciality. He just loves cage matches and he starts to overwhelm Terminus. The SAVAGE FACE CLAW goes on after a smash to the sides and Terminus collapses under the pressure. Another win for Wolf in a glorious year. He officially wins this challenge as 6-3 mathematically seals it. But no way he is letting Terminus off the hook. Into the Torture Chamber they must go next and Terminus is in bad shape having picked up the maximum possible injury of 6 cards from this loss.
Midcard - Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf enter the ring to welcome the cosmos to their biggest ever event. The ring is laid with red carpet and they are given thrones to sit on from which to address the everyone. A servant hands them champagne glasses from which they sip before speaking. Sonora Pelf goes first “welcome everyone to what is now the biggest show in wrestling. The CPC has proven it is the pinnacle. We thank the GWF for making wrestling what it is today but the brand is old and tired. This is the future. Already we have the strongest roster of any organisation and our expansion will continue. There will be more massive signings to come from both within and also outside the GWF” Magnus Colby nods along “well said Maggie. I have nothing more to add other than to say to everyone, enjoy the remainder of the event. The matches to come will be even better than you have just witnessed. I am sure already you will all be looking forward to COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION 2”. They then leave the ring to cheering. Although speakers all around the Palace serve to insert extra cheering to give an illusion of incredible popularity. Within a few minutes the ring is cleared and they are back in the VIP gallery sharing wine and fine foods with their guests.
Splatter and Mad Jester (aka Insecurity) upset Pegasus and Alpha Force in a Titan Death match. Titan Death rules applied to spruce up the combat. Bizarre method acting from Jester in recent weeks. The guy has been dressing as a security guard everywhere he goes and often stands at the front entrance of the Palace watching all the admitted fans come in. Quite clearly cuckoo. Splatter is hoping he’ll have his mind on this though but Jester comes out in full security costume ready to wrestle. Pegasus wags a finger at them both and warns “an attack on our friends Star Warrior and Colussus is an attack on all of us. You’ll be made to pay right here, right now”. But Pegasus is soon forced to back off as Splatter reaches for Arsenal. Never fear for Alpha Force is more than ready to tackle him and comes in with a sideswipe. The club goes loose and then everyone then just piles into each other. Almost like a comedy sandwich as they all meet in the middle and go down. First to rise is Splatter who loses his cool. He manages to retrieve his club and caught Alpha Force early with MEET ARSENAL. Blood spatters everywhere but Alpha Force is saved by Pegasus. Despite the early bleeding he wrestles valiantly on. Becomes pretty wild but the Champions duo eventually look like they are getting the job done. But then in a very sudden turnaround Jester pins Alpha Force. He’d just been on the end of ALPHA STRIKE and TOMAHAWK THRUST in short order but a wild brawl triggered by Splatter (who else) gave him an unlikely advantage. Splatter’s card remains marked after that but he doesn’t care. Just how he likes it. Expect more to come from this feud between the Champions and the Outcasts. Colby and Pelf will be pretty pleased at how good a job Splatter is now doing of keeping the Champions away from the Penthouse Suite.
Janus breaks down the defences of Max Shield. Two superstar level guys very much in the shadow of their other team members in recent times. The greater pressure is on Janus though. Wrestling under a backdrop of instability. Something not lost on Chaos who is mulling over extending an olive branch to Janus to start rebuilding a new Citadel of the Elite. He will of observed that Janus still has plenty to offer. At first Janus struggled a lot. Looking like a guy low on confidence and struck with MAXIMUM IMPACT. But in one quick moment turned it around. Nimble footing to avoid a turnbuckle smash. Clinical after that by going for GORDION KNOT which has Max beaten.
Matador of M83 beats Skinhead by DQ. Is this a CPC audition for Skinhead? Rumours that he is the latest guy looking longingly at Pelf Palace. He doesn’t do his case much harm with a solid effort. Initially looking like he was getting his ass kicked. But a crucial intervention by Johnny Rocket saw him get away with striking Matador with a foreign object. After that it’s all Skinhead and had he not got too carried away with a brawl that upset the ref may well of had a big win. He’d already used BAD ATTITUDE a few times and the Matador was looking pretty wobbly.
Jack of Diamonds embarrassed Bishop Hell with a dominant win. Bishop Hell may of long moved past this but his hatred for the ‘brat son of Exo-King’ has never gone away. Interesting note was Reynard B. Guile has offered to manage Bishop Hell to help him pull off his illegal moves more. But the Bishop refused the offer. A kick in the teeth for B. Guile. Anyway the match itself and the Bishop drops an early advantage and then completely collapses. Jack wore him down with BLACK DIAMOND and DIAMOND CUT before pinning him with a stylish bridge suplex.
Dynamo against Powerhouse goes to time. Ex partners collide. The amount of power inside that ring is just ridiculous. But it’s a low quality match. Just seems to go on and on. Powerhouse used EARTHQUAKE a couple times but never close to finishing things off especially with Reynard B. Guile on hand to distract. Eventually the bell goes off and the crowd, some of which had needed toothpicks in their eyes, gives a relieved cheer. Proclaimed a draw as time limit expires. Dynamo moans at the ref. Reckoned he was about to win with his Dynamo Rib Crusher at the time. But that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
X-Termination crushed Hunter’s Moon. Does this mean Vyper’s big singles push is at an end? He’s still pretty hot in singles. Fresh off humiliating Heracles. But he feels he owes it to Wildcat to give their promising tag team some attention. Unfortunately it didn’t go too well as Vyper fell to HEADBANGER’S BALL within a couple of minutes. Roll of doubles threatened to make things worse. It specified an ally coming in to continue the attack. So Brainstorm, trying to get himself some kind of storyline, came in but before he could do too much damage Mollock scares him off. Vyper responds by later challenging Brainstorm to a singles match. Plan worked.
Velar overcame Anaxis by DQ. Velar trying to get back in favour with her employers. Her ultimatum is get the ladies belt off Supernova or else her position on the roster is seriously under threat. She wanted this to be Titan Death rules but was ignored. No CPC perks for her until she proves worthy. Anyway she comes through with a fortunate DQ win. They’d had a seesaw battle with both failing with their finishers. Then an out of ring brawl. Both equally culpable but Anaxis controversially seen as the aggressor and punished accordingly.

Latest News:
COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION smashed MILKY WAY MADNESS in the ratings. Magnus Colby is pretty happy about that. The GWF is lagging well behind the CPC at the moment. Lots of title switches took place. The big setup for the main event was THE COLBY CUP. Splatter being involved was a disaster waiting to happen and he really made a nuisance of himself causing injuries and adding another big blot on Paragon’s copybook. It all meant that Prodigy went to the big main event instead of one of their top stars but it was still memorable as Chaos tried to deal with him. And of course all the lumberjacks. Mandrill’s presence on the enemy side was shocking and is the biggest indicator yet that he’s ready to start a full on feud with Chaos in 2107. He made a huge difference in the shock outcome as Prodigy pulled off the biggest upset of the year to beat Chaos and win the CPC Heavyweight belt. Prodigy now holds two of the CPC belts. How long he can hold onto them is another matter but it’s an incredible achievement. Right up there with the most major moments in wrestling history. Thantos is happy his team’s gold reserves are building up again and says it is more evidence that “I backed the right horse by joining the CPC. The GWF will soon be reduced to rubble”. No comment on why Paragon skipped the show but thought to be sulking over recent losses. Also said to be heavily distracted by contract negotiations for next year.
Colussus and Heracles are ready to go to war again. It is one of those feuds that will probably never end. Sometimes things go quiet between them but it always flares up again at some point. With Colussus acting so erratically it will be interesting to see how their forthcoming meeting(s) play out. Heracles might not know what hit him. Especially as Colussus is riding the wave of winning the Interstellar belt. But he does have the advantage of knowing he won their last GALACTICON match in dominating style and the fact Colussus might still be carrying injuries after being a lottery victim several cards ago. Of course Colussus insists there is nothing wrong and dismisses hints of a rift within the Champions “I am the same as I have always been. Ready and willing to fight for the heroes and the GWF. Everyone can see how good I am by the way I destroyed Paragon. Now I am ready to punish that chauvinistic traitor Heracles. He won’t be pleasing any women after I’ve finished. Also Splatter won’t be allowed to sleep easy. I haven’t forgotten what he did to me”.
A new offshoot feud is brewing for the new CPC Heavyweight champ, Prodigy, as he wages a bit of a hate campaign against Sleeze for destroying his brand new motorbike during COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION. The reason for this is because in a rare foray into singles Sleeze will get to challenge for the Cruiserweight belt. So as Prodigy wrestled in the main event Sleeze and his boozy bud, Grunge, snuck up to the bike parked behind the curtain. Successfully bypassing security. Armed with bottles they proceeded to refuel it with beer. Johnny Rocket did a good job of keeping security distracted the whole time. Later when Prodify goes to ride off down the long connecting corridor the thing goes bang and belches thick black smoke which wafted under the curtain and back into the the arena hall. In a subsequent war of words Prodigy suggests Sleeze only goes to bars in the hope of picking up other drunk men and that he would even sh*g an alien if he was allowed to. Sleeze furiously calls Prodigy nothing but a fraud and that all these years Skinhead carried the legendary Superiority Complex tag team. They are on a collision course. Prodigy is going to be one busy boy next month. And remember he is still not fully healed from his injuries.
Rumours that the Desolation Factor might be coming over at the end of the year from Dimension X. Can they successfully make the crossing? Where will they end up? Smart money is the CPC. For fans unfamiliar with them they are best described as a parody of the Gladiators although they are sure not to take too kindly to such a comparison. If Desolation Factor does come in on the side of the CPC and starts a war with the Thunder and Overkill, assuming the Gladiators survive their feud with WAR, then that might just open Pandora’s box.
The plaudits just keep coming for Wolf. He triumphs in his special match challenge with Terminus. The final match inside the Torture Chamber will be a dead rubber but Wolf ignores a plea from Terminus to end it all now. His insatiable desire for hardcore is at an all time high. And now there are rumours that a huge match between Wolf and Paragon is also incoming. Having destroyed Terminus the eyes and claws of Wolf are now moving to the so called main guy on the CPC. He also has a date with Mandrill next month. The Prime Colonizer has moved ominously back into title contention. Benefitting from various guys around him in the rankings floundering at the hands of Wolf. From a personal view it’s amazing the path Wolf has trodden this year. All pretty organic too. I have only had to use the new wildman chart sparingly because he has been so busy without it!
Will Johnny Rocket accept Wildcat’s challenge and get into the ring? The fans would love to see that and with the GWF desperate to get bums on seats for their shows pressure is being put on Johnny to go along with it. In fact they wouldn’t take no for an answer. At first he had no interest in taking on “the diseased kitten” but then seemed to have a change of heart. Seems he might get a decent payday for agreeing. Terak commended Wildcat for thinking outside the box to set this up, “he’s got an old head on young shoulders. The match will do nothing for his ranking but Wildcat knows it’s about entertainment too and this will help the fed in its war with the CPC”.
Bad month for the Fighting Titans as they get whitewashed by the Masked Assassins in a Battlezone and then the Ninja Assassins win the tag belts to rub salt in the wounds. Lord Nexus responds to some unfair criticism that he should be interfering more to help “I am old school. I believe in fair play at all times. My involvement in a match is purely from a coaching capacity and I will not change. My team knows and respects this”.
ROLL UP featured a great scene on its latest episode. Exclusive footage. Although they weren’t all wrestling that night Draconian Sheik and Dark Justice clashed after the Deimos show. There was a manic chase scene through the streets of Deimos as a result where Justice commandeered a hover bike with the Terrorists in hot pursuit. It’s not a big place so many of the same monuments and landmarks come into view. Also it was chucking it down. Gripping tv as the headcam mounted to a brave camera man captured it all. Eventually Justice turns into a dark dirty looking street. Just a few hundred metres from the Deimos Arena as the crow flies but feels like a million miles away. It proves to be a dead end. The Terrorists with Drac, comically in the sidecar, dismount their speeder and close in with a crowbar. Justice closes his eyes in anticipation of the first strike but when he opens them they are all gone. All very mysterious and even the camera picked up nothing as a dark shadow was cast blacking out the feed during those few crucial seconds. Experts speculated that there has been cosmic disturbance in recent months with rogue wormholes popping up on some moons and planets. The only explanation is that Drac and the Terrorists unwittingly stepped into one which saved Justice’s bacon. The fact they’ve all been seen in the days since means they escaped their ordeal unharmed. Whatever happened it was all very strange. Also on the show somehow some grainy footage across dimensions gets aired. About 30 seconds worth of video intact showing Desolation Factor in action. First impressions count for a lot. They looked awesome. Battering their unidentified opponents with an array of powerful moves very much in the mould of the Gladiators. Nobody has the foggiest how the footage got there. It was sent from an anonymous source.
INJURED – Colussus (2), Prodigy (4), Terminus (6), Star Warrior (?); SUSPENDED – none
SUDDEN DEATH SCORING … GLADIATORS 29-25 WAR … it’s a real bad time to have internal strife but that’s what WAR is still experiencing. Mace is barely talking to anyone and accuses Raven of feeding him a load of bullsh*t. Is it too late in the day for a comeback? Time is slowly running out. The lagging WAR team was not helped by a lack of bookings as the CPC dominated the wrestling calendar last month.
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
PRODIGY – Couldn’t be anyone else. He withstood a lottery attack to win the COLBY CUP and then converted that success into the winning of the CPC Heavyweight belt. Beating massive names like Paragon and Chaos along the way. Never could of predicted that and he now has the distinction of holding two titles. What a transformation from tag superstar to singles stardom.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
NINJA ASSASSINS – Been a real Jekyll and Hyde year from the Ninjas. Ever since their teachings from Makiwara they’ve been a devastating team. But the bubble burst a little this year and they reached some real low points. But the mark of a great team is they’ve suddenly come to prominence again and out of nowhere put together a run that ends with them wearing the tag belts again.

CARD 953 - SPICA PYRAMID:
Painmaster beats Chaos by DQ decision. So it begins. Chaos starts signing matches against Colonizer members. Ready to officially fight for the right to be top villain. He expects to win this test but it becomes an uncomfortable ride. Painmaster gets a string of solid moves in and deals 3 tokens without reply in the early exchanges before Chaos gets himself going. But even when Chaos livens up he finds pretty stern resistance. Only clamping BOW OF DEFEAT on the once but seeing Painmaster expertly slip out of it. The match continues on in an even manner until a brawl breaks out which prompts Chaos to attack Sentry. Seen as an unnecessary aggression and the disqualification called as a result. Shame the ref didn’t let things flow. Aftermath sees plenty of chatter on Spacebook talking about the Chaos-Mandrill feud. All good stuff until Mandrill uncharacteristically posts “Feud? What feud?” Surely he still cannot deny his full intentions.
Rebel Empire has too much for Wraith and Max Shield. A stark reminder that the feud between Genesis and the Colonizers is here to stay. Mandrill wants the team to move on but Max Shield won’t let the Colonizers off the hook. Rebel Empire are still licking their wounds from losses to Frozen Fury but a win here should bring about an immediate restoration of confidence. There is no messing as they do the business. Max and Wraith just don’t have the chemistry to cope. Wraith has a rough start but got out the line of fire to bring Max in. Hopes that he can do something special quickly dashed after MAXIMUM IMPACT barely registers against Vendetta. He is then subjected to EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT three times in the next few minutes. Had it not been for Vertigo the first two would surely of got him. But nobody can be expected to survive such punishment and Max was no exception. He has nothing left in the tank on the third and final one.
Blizzard handled Mutant. A brief return to singles action for Blizzard. But fans are very keen that Frozen Fury tag team continues into 2107 after such success. They’d been seen as little more than a gimmick tag team but have surprised everyone. Least of all Rebel Empire. There’s no assurances and Blizzard wasn’t saying anything about the future plan. All he wanted to talk about was how he was going to tear Mutant limb from limb “that thing has been terrorising everyone for years”. He delivers on his bold speak. Certainly not a walkover as Mutant has its moments but Blizzard can handle it. FROSTBITE x2 does a good job of weakening it and then ICE ATTACK comes which, thanks to Vertigo, the ref completely misses allowing Blizzard to win with it.
Daeman controversially beats Blade. Appetiser for the forthcoming Ninja Assassins-Centaurians title match. Both guys are accompanied by their respective partners. It’s got DQ written all over it. The Ninjas take their switching game to a new level. Assisted by Darkos they put it into action here. Daeman got knocked out the ring. But it’s Hydrax who comes back in and wrestles Blade. For what it’s worth Blade did great considering both were much fresher. Managed to hit them both with SWITCHBLADE KICK at different junctures but not enough to finish either off. After a few minutes Daeman is able to switch back in. He starts to wear Blade down with IRON HAND and the move eventually leads into victory.
X-Termination beats Titan Gliders in just 2 moves. Sleeze is getting consumed by greed. He calls himself the ‘Party King’ and is after more riches namely both the CPC Cruiserweight belt and the GWF tag belts. If X-Termination wins here they could very well become top contenders. With that in mind they inflict an embarrassing loss on the Titans. Lord Nexus looks shocked. He’d barely got into his coaching position at ringside and it’s already over. Sleeze caught Talon out and in just the second move of the match has pinned him after METALHEAD MAULER. Poor Talon looks pretty distressed and needs a fair amount of consoling.
Thrash overcame Maxine Babe. Thrash considers it an insult that she’s got to wrestle this bimbo. But a sudden low ranking makes it unavoidable. Poor Maxine has literally no chance. She needs someone at ringside with her to perform her finisher but Brainstorm lets her down last minute. He doesn’t want to directly oppose a Gladiator. Even in female form. Whilst Johnny Rocket was too busy working with X-Termination to care. Credit to her for having a go though. She even had a pin attempt after a falling super kick. It was an easy kickout though and Thrash eventually puts her away with a brain buster bludgeon.

CARD 954 – SPICA PYRAMID:
Was getting a bit drowsy rolling some of these. Also DQ blighted. Not the greatest show in my history!
Heavyweight champ, Wolf, lost to Mandrill by DQ. It’s the nightmare scenario for Chaos. He loses both major belts in recent times and now sees his biggest threat, Mandrill, challenge for the title. He’s done well this year without the Alpha Stone but it’s all ending badly. Deep down he would be hoping Wolf could slay Mandrill like so many others but he’s got to lose to someone eventually. Mandrill looks confident and heads out first so he has the high ground and looks like a conqueror. Wolf has to get past Sentry and then try and get in the ring without Mandrill attacking him from the advantageous point. But they don’t reckon on Amazonia. Wolf normally works alone but out of nowhere she piles into Sentry with her shield. The commotion allows Wolf to storm down the runway and take the distracted Mandrill by surprise. He even uses the belt to put a dent in Mandrill’s forehead. Dramatic stuff as always from Wolf. Totally sets the tone. The match barely featured in the ring. A Wolf Skullcrusher forces Mandrill to try and vacate the ring and break the flow. Wolf angrily follows. Mandrill puts himself behind Sentry. But that’s not going to stop Wolf. He takes hold of Amazonia’s shield and smashes Sentry down. Then does the same to Mandrill. Bell goes instantly but that means little to Wolf. He discards the shield and gives the crowd what they wanted to see as he clamps on the SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Only broken because Sentry managed to struggle over to his weapon and fire it in Wolf’s direction. It missed by a whisker. A second shot was attempted but Amazonia managed to block it with her shield. Lightening reflexes. Satisfied with the fact Mandrill was down and bleeding Wolf and Amazonia depart to cheering. But of course there will be a rematch to come.
Assassin Air Raid defeated CPC Rising by DQ. More bodge ups at GWF HQ. They were trying to book Titan Fury against Assassin Air Raid. A typo is blamed. Presumably Rising Sun’s name the reason. The Matador and Janus not too enthused to be involved in this but are strongly encouraged to wrestle by the CPC as it helps make the GWF look bad. This lack of wanting to be a part of this was probably behind the behaviour of Janus. Hardly any flow when things spill outside. Janus hoists Lycosa up and drops him across the railings. The referee storms out and shouts “we don’t behave like that in the GWF” and calls an immediate disqualification.
Vyper deals with Brainstorm. Grumpy Brainstorm comes out alone. His ladies, Darla and Maxine Babe, refuse to be anywhere near a snake. They’ll get a shock if they are here and go into the locker rooms as Vyper has actually left Zelda in the shower area. Keeping her nice and hydrated whilst he wrestled. Anyway Vyper is back to collect his snake pretty quickly. He withstood a brief barrage of offence from Brainstorm comfortably and then took control. His popular VYPER’S SIDESHOW sealed the victory.
FDF gets the better of Transevolver by DQ. The feud continues into the GWF arena. This time it’s FDF who triumph. Monad again a liability and about to pinned after ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST. Doomsayer ruined the match by interfering and trying to slip Monad a foreign object but got caught red handed. A tinge of disappointment for the FDF. They’d won but denied a pin fall.
Blazing Skull beats the Creeper by DQ. Blazing is back and readying himself for a huge cage match against Archon. That’s coming next month. For now there is this. Blazing has all the offence. After a Skull Head Crack he finds himself tossed from the ring by Mollock. The attack was done out of concern for the Creeper who wasn’t coping well.
Cassandra easily beats Ms. Liberty. The brief run with the ladies belt now seems a very distant memory for Ms. Liberty as she slumps to defeat. Cassandra way too aggressive for her. Used WHIPS AND CHAINS twice to set it all up. Then a Stud Stomp to finish her.
